I'm selling my beloved 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera 4. It has AWD and a 6 speed manual transmission. It has 131000 original miles and has never been in an accident. It hold a clear CA title. It has PSM and new rear tires. One day I started the car and white smoke started to come out of the tailpipes. I drove it for a week like this and then I parked it in the garage for my mechanic to inspect it. He told me it needed a new engine, so he took apart the engine and it has been like that for a few years. The transmission is perfect the a/c blew as it should the AWD worked well, and so did the PSM, power windows/locks, cruise, radio all work fine.
If you see the pics, the bumper is missing, but it is off to the side, and is in perfect condition. Again, this car has never been in an accident.
So there you have it. A '99 Porsche carrera 4 AWD with a clean CA title that has a good interior and body that needs a new or rebuilt engine. (by the way I have the engine core). Or perhaps a V8 conversion engine.
As for a method of payment I will need a $500.00 non-refundable deposit through paypal only or cash in person within 48 hours after the auction has ended. No checks, money orders, or paypal will be accepted. Please make sure you have the funds before you bid. I have the clear title in my possession and the car is on Non-Op. I am the second owner of this vehicle, and I purchased it in 2004. Buyer will need to arrange shipping. You can reach me at (909)8004056

Malaise Era All-Stars
Fri, 17 May 2013A few weeks ago, we bid a fond happy 40th anniversary to the automotive dark ages of 1973-84 that have come to be known as "The Malaise Era" - the performance ice-age when 160 horsepower was a lot and a 0-60 time of under 10 seconds was remarkable. Like music in the 1980s, everything in automobiledom didn't suck, however. There were a few bright spots. Here are five of our favorites:

McLaren P1 squares off against Porsche 918 in Evo track battle
Fri, Nov 21 2014Evo's side-by-side comparison of the McLaren P1 against the Porsche 918 Spyder isn't the first time we've seen England and Germany's ultimate automotive weapons sized up together; last month, Autocar tested them over the standing mile, with a Ducati 1199 Superleggera playing the joker. Evo throws a few curves at its test, though, taking the supercars to Anglesey Circuit in Wales to see which will lay down the fastest lap time with scribe Jethro Bovington at the wheel. In case the numbers haven't yet been seared into your memory, while both are assisted by electric motors, the 3,069-pound, rear-wheel drive P1 gets on with 903 horsepower and 664 pound-feet from a 3.8-liter, twin-turbocharged V8. The 3,750-pound, all-wheel-drive 918 Spyder does its job with 795 hp and 575 lb-ft surging out of a naturally aspirated, 4.6-liter V8. We're not told know which circuit layout he uses for the test, but both cars comfortably eclipse the mark set by the fastest coupe Evo's driven around it so far, the Ferrari 458 Speciale. Then, in an epilogue occasioned by a tire change, one of the supercars comfortably eclipses its own time again, before Bovington declares one the master of the track and the other the ruler of the street. Enjoy finding out which is which in the video above.
Porsche Cayman, Boxster caught in GTS trim
Sat, 18 Jan 2014A few months ago, we reported on some leaked information from an internal presentation for upcoming Porsche models. This included details about the Macan and the 911 Targa, which we now know to be true, but there was also talk about GTS versions of the Cayman and Boxster.
Well, it appears we're now getting our first look at these GTS models, as our spy photographers have just snapped a pair of Porsche prototypes out testing - one Cayman and one Boxster.
Right off the bat, we can see that both GTS-branded cars will get a slightly tweaked exterior with new fascias (bringing LED daytime running lights to the Cayman) and air diffusers at the rear. The true gem of these cars will be the added horsepower to the tune of 340 horsepower - a 15-hp bump. A manual transmission will likely be standard, as will Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM).
