1997 Porsche 911 Cabriolet
Thank you for viewing my ad. Up for sale is very clean 1997 Porsche 911 Convertible. The color is Guards Red with tan leather interior. This Porsche is virtually in show room condition. The original paint looks new as this was a garage stored vehicle. The leather seats are still soft and in beautiful condition, the interior smells fresh. When I first started going through this 911, I was so impressed I couldn't stop taking pictures of it. If you need addtional photos emailed, please ask!
The mileage reads 43,910 but you would guess the car to have maybe half the mileage! This 911 drives 100%, everything is super tight and fells like new. I cannot really pick anything on the drivability of the car, both the mechanics and all accessories work great. The convertible top operates smooth with no issue, and the rear spoiler works every time. The tires are like new, and the rims are in great condition. The car comes with the convertible boot cover in like new condition, also the spare and the tool kit are all where they should be.
Also, you will notice in the picture the orginial order options sticker is where it should be under the front hood.
I have this car advertised locally. I am only entertaining real offers on this Porsche! This car is in show condition, you will be challenged on finding a cleaner 993 around!

Son of Porsche 911 designer recalls 1963 Frankfurt debut
Wed, 16 Oct 2013
The Goodwood Revival is described by its presenters as the greatest motorsport racing party of the year. We often focus heavily on the motorsports, but you can't forget about the party. For the first preview of the new 911 Turbo in the UK, Porsche recreated its booth from the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1963 - the time and place of the original 911's public debut.
Porsche's cameras also caught up with Mark Porsche, the great grandson of Dr. Ferdinand Porsche and son of the late Ferdinand Alexander "Butzi" Porsche, who oversaw the design of the 911. Mark Porsche admires the 911's friendly design, which is set off by the round headlights, and says his mother, who was at the original Frankfurt booth in 1963, was milling around the booth at Goodwood - no doubt taking a trip down memory lane.
Malaise Era All-Stars
Fri, 17 May 2013A few weeks ago, we bid a fond happy 40th anniversary to the automotive dark ages of 1973-84 that have come to be known as "The Malaise Era" - the performance ice-age when 160 horsepower was a lot and a 0-60 time of under 10 seconds was remarkable. Like music in the 1980s, everything in automobiledom didn't suck, however. There were a few bright spots. Here are five of our favorites:

Porsche patent sketches show removable headrest wind deflector
Mon, 21 Oct 2013While driving around in a convertible might seem glamorous, ask anyone with long hair and they'll likely tell you how it really is: the wind buffets, your hair goes everywhere and it's anything but glamorous. That's why you see so many convertibles driving with their tops up, their windows up or wind deflectors in place. But Porsche is apparently preparing to kick it up to the next level.
These patent drawings have leaked out, demonstrating what appears to be some new kind of wind-deflecting device being developed by Porsche. The mechanism is apparently fitted to the headrest itself and designed to keep the wind buffeting specifically around the head down to a minimum while allowing the car's occupants to enjoy the top-down driving experience.
No word on when it might hit the market, but we won't be surprised to see this kind of device appear on a future version of the Boxster or 911 Cabriolet. But nowhere else: despite the apparent leak, the patent drawings suggest that Porsche will be keeping this technology proprietary. Whether sister brands like Volkswagen, Bentley or Lamborghini will get their hands on it remains to be seen.
