Up for sale is our 96 911 C4. It is a great driving 911. It starts, idles, shifts, drives, and stops as it should. All accessories work as they should as well. The exterior is a good "driver" condition. Some scratches and nicks. The interior is very good. I believe I am the 4th owner with the 2nd and 3rd being somewhat short stints. 1st owner up to 2007, myself 2009-2013. I have driven the car 8500 miles in 4 years. The car has no mechanical needs. The oil temperature gauge will peg intermittently and need a "tap" on the dial to go back to accurate. Oil pressure can be as low as 2.5 bar at a hot idle on a hot day. Otherwise, it runs at 4+ at even the lowest throttle. Therefore, cooling is excellent as temp runs below middle of gauge at any and all times, even long idles in hot summer. The engine/transmission/differentials are in prefect working order. There are no dash lights on when car is running. CEL will come on every few months. I have all maintenance records except for what I have done during my ownership. 2 oil/filters changes ,3 Freon charges, new belts, front strut mounts and bilstein struts, 1 brake fluid flush, and a new cd player head unit, Pioneer along with original working Becker. Looking through records, the clutch was done at 115,000 and a reseal was done at around that time as well. A large list of items and services have been repaired/replaced/performed during ownership. I won't list them all as they are too numerous. Very caring owners. The wheels are replica wheels if memory serves me correct. Tires are a Kumho Ecsta with 70%+ tread. Car leaves a drip of oil a month on garage floor, nothing else. The car has had paintwork done. The right rear and left front look to have had repair. 2 places on the right rear have surface rust in places that don't show unless the door is opened or the rear lid raised. Both spots were present when I purchased car and they have not changed or grown. Neither is very obvious at all, just full disclosure. Car had a full clear bra when purchased. I removed all but front bumper as I don't like anything on the paint. When pulling off the bumper bra, some paint started coming with it, so I left it on. Car has hi-fi sound, which means great speakers to go with new head unit. Leather is very good as are the carpets. If driven every few days, no smoke at start-up. If not driven for a month or 2, 1-2 seconds of light smoke. Nothing after nor under load. This car is dependable and it shows well. A very nice 911 for the price point. 993's are considered by most to be THE 911 of choice. 282 horsepower, 6-Speed, all-wheel drive with world class braking. The owners manual packet and 2 keyless fobs/keys are included. This is my third 911 and I have a working knowledge. I have tried to represent car well and I will answer questions of any nature concerning the car. Car is ready for any length trip to new owners home. I will need cash, a confirmed wire transfer or a Cashiers check having been verified by my bank before you get the keys. Thanks for the interest.

The car has no warranty. Description has that it does which is incorrect. Again, no warranty.

2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS prowls into Geneva with biggest NA engine in the 911 range [w/video]
Tue, Mar 3 2015We've been waiting for the debut of this road-going and race-ready Porsche 911 GT3 RS for quite some time now. As is typical for high-profile sports machines, the new 911 has been foreshadowed with spy shots and information leaks aplenty, all pointing to this grand day at Geneva. Here she is. Just a glance at the duct-sliced bodywork and massive rear wing will tell you that this Porsche means business, but let's look at its bona fides. The heart of the matter, under that short rear deck, is the largest-displacement and most powerful naturally aspirated engine in the 911 family, with 500 horsepower and 338 pound-feet of torque developed by the 4.0-liter flat-six. That hoss of an engine is mated to a newly developed version of Porsche's PDK dual-clutch gearbox – with functions such as "paddle neutral" that effectively works like depressing the clutch on a standard manual, and a Pit Speed button for on the track. Working in concert, engine and trans allow the GT3 RS to sprint to 60 miles per hour in 3.1 seconds, hit a quarter mile in 11.2, and lap the Nurburgring Nordschleife in just seven minutes, 20 seconds. (That 'Ring time makes it the fastest current 911 around the benchmark course, and five seconds faster than the current 911 GT3 – so quick.) Weight has been saved via exotic materials; the car sports a magnesium roof and carbon fiber for the trunk and engine lids. Overall the RS is 22 pounds lighter than the GT3, but also boasts a lower center of gravity. As we said at the top, there's a wide, low and aggressive body kit on the GT3 RS, all engineered with racing performance in mind. That huge rear wing is balanced in the front by a deep chin spoiler, and the front wheel arches have been punctuated with vents that help to increase downforce on the front axle. The roll cage is the most obvious interior modification to let one know that this is a racing tool, but Porsche has also slathered the space in Alcantara and installed carbon-fiber bucket seats (based on those found in the 918 Spyder) to drive the point home. The cost of such racing glory will be steep at $175,900 plus a $995 destination charge, but not out of the scope of the current ask for the 911 range, when you consider that a Turbo S runs over $180k. Look for 911 GT3 RS deliveries to start in July of this year in the US, and for track days to be more competitive for the addition. Porsche 911 celebrates 50 years of iconic motoring
Tue, 10 Sep 2013Back in 1963, Porsche debuted the very first 911 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. And over the last 50 years, that coupe has grown to become one of the most iconic sports cars of all time. That in mind, you could easily chalk up this 50th Anniversary model as just one of the many special edition 911s that have graced our roads over the years, but dig a bit deeper and you'll see that this one is far more than just some unique paint and different wheels.
For starters, the 911 50th Anniversary Edition utilizes the wider Carrera 4/4S body, but retains its standard rear-wheel-drive configuration. Power comes from the Carrera S' 3.8-liter flat-six engine, but features a Powerkit upgrade that includes the Sport Chrono package and ups overall output to 400 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. Hitting 60 miles per hour takes just 3.8 seconds if the car is fitted with Porsche's dual-clutch PDK gearbox, or 4.2 seconds if you choose the row-your-own seven-speed manual. Talk about going Over The Hill with a quickness.
Despite looking pretty tame, we're really hot on the appearance of this special 911, with its throwback flat gray paint job and new 20-inch wheels that look remarkably similar to the original Fuchs alloys of the 1963 model. Inside, you'll find green lettering on the instrument displays, white pointer needles and silver accents, and the leather seats have a fabric insert that's similar to the Pepita cloth from the original 911.
Porsche reportedly working on new turbocharged flat-four boxer engine?
Wed, 10 Apr 2013These days, we've seen just about every automaker dropping cylinders in an effort to appease tightening fuel economy and emission standards - and Porsche is no exception. Nearly three years after introducing an all-new V6 powerplant under the front hood of its Panamera sedan (launched with a range of V8 engines) comes word that Porsche is working on an all-new turbocharged flat-four boxer to replace the flat-six engines mid-mounted in its Cayman and Boxster models.
Specifics have yet to be learned, but reports say the engine is a derivative of the current 3.8-liter six (shown above) found under the rear decklid of the Carrera S, yet with two fewer cylinders. Fitted with a turbocharger, direct-injection and the automaker's VarioCam Plus, the new all-aluminum 2.5-liter flat-four will likely develop upwards of 350 horsepower and 360 pound-feet of torque. Redline should be about 7,500 rpm. Initial indications say that Porsche will only offer the new engine with its seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic, tuned to take advantage of the low-end torque, but a traditional six-speed manual gearbox has not been ruled out. Despite the loss of two cylinders, enthusiasts will likely embrace the new engine as it promises to be lighter, more fuel efficient and more powerful than the 2.7-liter and 3.4-liter sixes in the Cayman/Boxster today.
Even though Porsche has been using Volkswagen Group engines for years (e.g., Cayenne V6, Cayenne Diesel and upcoming Macan), all indications are that the new flat-four will not be shared. Instead, it will be kept in-house for the automaker's sports cars and possible future fitment in an entry-level 911.
