The 993 is the last of the air cooled, some would say the last of the best Porsches made. This is the narrow body C4 which is by far the most rare of the standard 993 models, with only 1860 delivered world wide. I am the third owner and have owned the car since 2009. The car has been in Texas, Colorado, California and is now back in Colorado. Since I have owned the car it has always been garaged and never driven in the rain or any inclement weather. There are no dents on the car, one slight ding on the passengers door was repaired. It doesn't photograph and you actually can't see it. There is a small chip in two of the 17" cup wheels. The wheels are shod with good Michelin Pilot Sports tires, 205/50/ZR17 front and 255/40/ZR17 rear. Center caps for the wheels are painted black Carrera 4. Everything works on the car, there are no mechanical issues. I have the entire service history for the car, including the original window sticker and the original bill of sale. The interior of the car is in great shape with no rips, tears, or cracks. The car was never smoked in. Front seat bolsters show the usual wear patterns on the seat bottoms. The original radio has been upgraded with a euro model Becker Grand Prix, which exactly matches the 993 dash board. It has iPod connection as well as a disk player and bluetooth connection. Speakers were up graded with Focal speakers installed in the stock speaker locations. The entire sound system looks perfectly stock. The entire order list is below. Porsche becomes first company to rent out Vatican's Sistine Chapel
Fri, 17 Oct 2014We wouldn't go so far as to say God is a Porsche fan, but those in charge of one of the holiest Christian spots on our little blue marble are welcoming the German automaker into one of the religion's most revered and beautiful settings - the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City. In so doing, Porsche will reportedly become the first company to rent out the holy hall for a corporate function.
Now, it's not like Pope Francis has signed off on Porsche doing do donuts in a 911 underneath Michelangelo's The Creation of Adam. Instead, the Vatican has rented out the home of the Papal Conclave to the Porsche Travel Club, which will host a classical music concert. The Travel Club organizes events and tours across Europe for Porsche enthusiasts, with the Vatican concert just one part of a tour of Rome.
According to Automotive News Europe, Porsche will sell 40 tickets - at 5,000 euros each ($6,379) - to the event, while the Vatican has confirmed that the Pope will not be in attendance.
Top Gear's latest trailer shows off a golden Bugatti Chiron
Thu, Feb 23 2017Top Gear is returning on March 5, and after a lackluster first series with the new hosts, the new group seems determined not to hit a sophomore slump. Chris Evans is gone, and the latest teaser trailer shows the new trio of Matt LeBlanc, Chris Harris, and Rory Reid strapped into some pretty fantastic cars, including the Bugatti Chiron and the Ford GT. All of the typical Top Gear segments appear to be present, though the quick cuts don't give us many details. The trailer shows a copious amount of powerslides from an assortment of cars, and even Chris Harris racing around Daytona. Aside from the Bugatti and Ford, cars from Porsche, Lamborghini, Ferrari, BMW, Aston Martin, and Alfa Romeo are all present. Co-hosts Eddie Jordan and Sabine Schmitz don't appear at all, so it seems their roles may be downplayed to focus on three guys, as was the case pre-reboot. We have some hope for this re-relaunched show and will be keeping an eye out for more details in the lead-up to the series premiere. Porsche 356 Outlaw is the other Continental
Wed, 25 Jun 2014In Porsche parlance, 'outlaw' basically means 'hot rod,' and that definition can vary from person to person. For Jack Griffin and his 1955 Porsche 356 Continental, it means taking a great car to start with and reworking it to become a classic coupe that fits its driver perfectly. The latest video from Petrolicious highlights Griffin's 356 and all of the personalization he has in the beautiful ride.
Griffin acquired this 356 in 1994, but it came in rough shape. That made it the perfect canvas to transform the coupe into the Porsche of his dreams. On the outside, only things like the hood-mounted fuel filler, louvered decklid and Fuchs wheels give it away as something special, but underneath, it is modernized to be a faster, more robust car. Griffin considers it "a piece of art on wheels."
Hearing the Continental name associated with Griffin's Porsche might be throwing you, since it's normally more associated with Lincoln, but Griffin tells the whole story of what makes it so special on his '55 in the video.
