1995 Porsche 911 (993). Its a 6 speed manual, Carrera 2 (rear wheel drive), with sunroof. The list of performance modifications are extensive. From recollection (I am sure I am missing something) here they are:
Engine - chip, supercup exhuast (with removable baffles), air intake
Brakes - 993TT big brake kit with stainless steel lines and slotted, floating rotors (currently Porsche OEM pads are on the car with less than 1000 miles on them)
Wheels - the very rare and much sough after authentic RUF rims
Transmission - rebuilt two years ago (many upgrades while open including steel gears), along with new medium weight flywheel and upgraded clutch, Kaaz Limited Slip Differential, short shift kit, goldenrod upgrade
Suspension - Adjustable Elephant Racing Vonn coilovers, RS bits, RS front and rear sway bars, all new bushings, upgraded end links
Cosmetic - front TT bumper, turbo tail, factory leather seats, 996 3 spoke steering wheel, 996 carbon fiber shift knob, faux carbon trim (done by previous owner, actually looks very nice), rear wiper delete, upgraded stereo (note there are some wiring issues I never got around to resolving so the audio works but isn't great - it has serious potential though), DAS roll cage with camera mount and harnesses (in the back - takes up the rear seat room, free access to driver and passenger compartments however- note the harnesses are currently out of date), engine fan override switch

Father-son team grows close by building tuned Porsche
Mon, 21 Jul 2014We've seen several heartwarming videos of kids bonding over cars with their parents, whether racing together or giving them as gifts. The story of Leh Keen and his father McGrath, though, is somewhat different. Not many dads are looking for a vehicle quite this mental.
As Leh tells it, his dad saw a video online of one of the wild Porsches from Japanese tuner Rauh-Welt Begriff and decided that he needed one of the creations in his own garage. Since Leh knows something about cars himself as a driver for Alex Job Racing in the United SportsCar Championship, McGrath put his son in charge of managing the build from the company.
When the car made it to the US for completion from Rauh's famed builder Nakai, father and son bonded over the red, widebody 993-platform 911. The final product is certainly eye-catching. Scroll down to watch the video that features not only an engrossing father-son tale but also a seriously wicked, tuned Porsche from one of Japan's finest.
Porsche recalling 4,400 911, Boxster and Cayman models over hood latches
Mon, 03 Nov 2014Porsche has issued a "precautionary" and voluntary safety recall affecting some 4,400 sports cars across the globe. Here in the United States, the recall includes 1,382 911, Boxster convertibles and Cayman coupes, all of which are from model years 2014 and 2015.
Porsche will be replacing the lock bracket for the front cargo area (the frunk) after internal testing revealed that, while the vehicles meet "strength requirements," specific parts might not meet the company's quality standards throughout the vehicle's life. There have been no reports of accidents or injuries.
Owners of the affected cars will be notified within 60 days and will need to report to a nearby dealer for a free repair, which should take about 30 minutes.
Porsche Cayman, Boxster caught in GTS trim
Sat, 18 Jan 2014A few months ago, we reported on some leaked information from an internal presentation for upcoming Porsche models. This included details about the Macan and the 911 Targa, which we now know to be true, but there was also talk about GTS versions of the Cayman and Boxster.
Well, it appears we're now getting our first look at these GTS models, as our spy photographers have just snapped a pair of Porsche prototypes out testing - one Cayman and one Boxster.
Right off the bat, we can see that both GTS-branded cars will get a slightly tweaked exterior with new fascias (bringing LED daytime running lights to the Cayman) and air diffusers at the rear. The true gem of these cars will be the added horsepower to the tune of 340 horsepower - a 15-hp bump. A manual transmission will likely be standard, as will Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM).
