1988 Porsche 911 Carrara Coupe. All numbers match, engine, trans, body panels (all vin number tags are in place on body panels) etc and everything is in order. he car is in exceptional original unmolested condition with very low milage of 90,673 considering it's age. I adore this Carrara and am reluctantly selling the car. Factory options included Power Sunroof, Power Leather Seats, Cruise Control, 16 inch Fuchs wheels. I obtained the Certificate of Authenticity (COA) from Porsche which will be included.
Exterior:
All panels are razor straight. Paint is vibrant and very glossy. Appears to be all original and I see no evidence of resprays anywhere but I cannot guarantee this. It is possible the hood was resprayed since there are so few stone chips but I can't honesty tell. When I purchased the car it had a "Bra" on the hood (which is included) so that may be why there are few stone chips that you would typically see on these cars. There is one very small scratch and a very very small ding on the roof and some very minor blemishes around car as to be expected of a 30 year old vehicle. I choose to leave as is since they are so minor rather then touch up. I would rate the overall paint as a solid 8.5 out of 10. It presents really well and looks almost new. All Glass in very nice condition. Please note windshield does have some minor pitting. All lamps etc work properly. Please note remote electronic mirrors do not work and I never got around to checking into issue. Everything is super clean and in order with no signs rust or repairs anywhere, ever. Battery tray area clean and dry no issues. Includes original jack, spare and Tool Kit and I believe the original compressor.
I did install a German Dansk Sport muffler but retained the original that is included if you want it. Fuchs wheels are in good condition but I think 2 of them have minor blemishes. I did put small spacers on the wheels to fill out the wheel wells a bit better and installed longer wheel studs on the rear but retained the originals which are included as are a set of wheel locks. All rubber moldings, bumper pads, weather stripping, lens etc in very good condition. I did add the black stone guards on the rear panels but would be happy to remove them if you prefer prior to pick up of vehicle.
Interior:
Leather is tight and without tears, splitting, fading or discoloration. Bolsters show very little signs of wear that is typical on these cars. Dash is perfect, no distortion, discoloration or cracks. Headliner like new, Door panels very nice, (please note the door panel pockets are a bit distorted but very presentable) Pedals unworn, All switches, controls, indicators and gauges work correctly. Clock keeps perfect time (note, second hand does not work). Alpine period correct stereo. Sunroof works properly. Air conditioning was upgraded prior to my acquisition. Blows cool but not ice cold. May need a recharge but compressor is functioning properly. Carpets in very good condition with aftermarket Lloyds non logo front mats. Speakers were replaced with upgrades no modifications.
Heater works correctly. Shift knob shows wear and I had planned to replace. Gauges are clear, crisp with vibrant coloration on markings.
Engine:
The 3.2 Engine is all original and I see no evidence it has ever been out of the car. Ran a compression check on engine when I purchased car and all cylinders were up to spec and within range. Engine starts quickly, runs smooth and pulls strongly. Car shifts smoothly and properly and is firm and tight. No issues anywhere. Car will blow small amount of blue smoke upon startup for a few seconds if its been sitting a long time but never after that.
Always maintained and had recent plugs, cap/rotor , air filter, oil change and filter, transaxle fluid change, brake pads, etc. New battery installed 2016.
Engine compartment is in order and clean, All stickers in place. Insulation pad between engine and rear seat was recently replaced.

Porsche 911 Carrera 4S named Motor Trend Best Driver's Car [w/video]
Thu, 22 Aug 2013Motor Trend has named the 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S its best driver's car for 2013. The annual
competition for the title included some of the best performance cars that have gone on sale in the past year. The new C4S follows the 2012 Best Driver's Car award winner, a two-wheel-drive Carrera S.
Determining the winner of the coveted title isn't easy. Each vehicle is pushed through Motor Trend's normal battery of instrumented tests. Editors then spend time with each car over a 500-mile tour of mixed conditions before a final batch of testing at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, with pro racer Randy Pobst at the wheel.
24 Hours of Le Mans an on-and-off love affair
Mon, 24 Jun 2013There was little usual about this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans - intermittent rain in the weeks before the race meant cars didn't get on track as much as they wanted, and intermittent rain during the race meant cars went off track a lot more than they wanted. The race started with a wet track, and one of the records broken because of the random downpours was the number of times the safety car led the field - 11 times this year - although the record of two hours and 53 minutes of lapping behind the safety car, set in 2011, was not eclipsed.
None of that served to dampen the action. With little more than an hour left in the race there were cars still only a few seconds apart fighting for position, leads still changing because of pit stops and everyone drafting anyone they could.
Things didn't go the usual way up front, either - well, not exactly...
Porsche 911 going all-turbo this year save for GT3 and GT3 RS
Fri, Jan 23 2015The coming Porsche 911 GT3 RS will represent another high-water mark for the brand, and another milestone. Its 500-or-so horsepower and extreme aero are predicted to lop more than five seconds off the 7:20 Nurburgring lap time of the current GT3, making it "comfortably less" than 7:20. Beyond that, its naturally-aspirated 3.8-liter will form the basis of the turbocharged engines going into the standard range of 911s later this year as 2016 models. That's right – if you're looking for a sub-GT3 911 that gulps its air without compressed assistance, then you've only got a few months to get a new one into your garage. Emissions regulations are the reason, of course, with Porsche's R&D chief Wolfgang Hatz saying that, "Every new model will have lower CO2 than before," and "if you look at euro per g/km, then it's turbo." We don't know what the engine lineup will look like, however; a few months ago Car reported that the base 911 would get a smaller-displacement version of the engine, while the S would stick with 3.8-liter displacement and jump to 520 horsepower, which is the same as the current Turbo. After that, Hatz said, "at the end of the decade electrification has to be the next huge step." That means a hybrid 911 is being cooked up somewhere. Yet even as the brand leaps into the new, there's a chance it could dip a toe back into the old: the 911 GT3 RS will launch with a PDK, but Hatz's team is considering adding the option of a seven-speed manual. Elsewhere in the range, the Cayman GT4 is being engineered by Porsche Motorsport as an entry-level racer, with more power than the current Cayman GTS to go with some serious weight loss. They are also developing a track-only model for privateers. The standard Boxster and Cayman will get turbocharged flat-four engines, but there'll be a sporty Boxster that also loses weight and gets more power than the 325-hp Boxster GTS. And that mid-level supercar that's been floating in the ether for years and supposedly sent to purgatory again just last November? It's on the way by 2020 "at the latest," and will use a version of the new V8 that will eventually go into the Cayenne and Panamera.
