1988 Porsche 911 Targa with Slantnose conversion. I have owned this car for past 4 years. It has a Steve Wong cat Bypass, and chip. The car is in good condition, and draws a lot of attention. I do not know history of the car but it seems it was well taken care of. The transmission and engine run smooth. In the past it had intermittent starting issues but my mechanic has seemed to have that resolved. The car is driven very little under my ownership. The BBS wheels are in mint condition and the tires have around 500 miles on them(if that). I have 2 sets extra wheels and will sell car for less money with cup 2 wheels. The BBS wheels were around 4k alone. The interior and exterior are what I would say 7 out of 10. At one time may have been a show car, now a nice driver quality car, or take it to the track. When I went to register it initially, there were some things on the car fax, please look into that and if you are not comfortable with the car fax do not bid. I prefer to sell in person, and the car is for sale locally and reserve right to end auction early. I want the buyer to be happy and know what they are purchasing. Things I have had done to car under my ownership:
1) alternator is new however it has a noisy bearing
2)The CV joints boots are new in back
3)New plugs, wires, fuel filter, and tune up(300 miles ago)
4)Tranny flush and fluid replacement to stock specs.
5)Fuse box cleaned and battery terminals replaced
6)new belts
7)new motor left pop up headlight(both work good)
8)new oxygen sensor
9)rebuilt one of the rear calipers
Things I would do if I were to keep
-targa top through in good shape needs minor adjustment so it donst make wind noise
-I have polymer bushings for sway bars but not have installed them yet.
-remember car is 25 years old! I am selling this car to fund business venture. I highly recommend that you know these cars if you are thinking of purchasing. I will not offer any returns, and payment must be received and clear before I release the title which is indeed free and clear. I want someone to take this car and appreciate it. I will not, and repeat will not sell this car for short money so all you wheeler dealers go bother someone else.

Porsche boss admits Panamera's style is offputting
Sat, 11 Oct 2014
"There have been some small mistakes and we will do it better. For example the design could be better." - Matthias Mueller.
The design of the Porsche Panamera has been divisive, to say the least. Pretty much any Porsche with four doors was going to draw the ire of enthusiasts, but the fast-back-style roofline, prominent curves and seemingly never-ending hood have particularly irked some brand loyalists.
Porsche Classic launching branded motor oil for air-cooled boxer engines
Tue, 17 Jun 2014It's hard not to love the look of a classic Porsche. Whether it's the upside-down bathtub styling of the 356 or the gradual evolution of the 911, there is a little beauty in all of them. However, the older they get, the more that needs repaired to keep them on the road. Porsche Classic is helping out, though, by introducing its own brand of motor oil for the demands of the company's vintage, air-cooled engines.
Developed at the Porsche Development Centre in Weissach, Germany, Porsche Classic Motoroil comes in two weights - 20W-50 for the 356, 914 and 911 models up to the 2.7-liter G-Model and 10W-60 for 3.0-liters-and-up engines through the 993-chassis 911. The company claims that the air-cooled engines have different heat demands than traditional, water-cooled units, and this oil is made to meet those requirements.
According to Porsche, modern, synthetic oils are sometimes too effective when it comes to old engines. They are fantastic at sopping up debris, but those deposits are often holding archaic seals together. Suddenly removing them can cause leaks. The new oil is specifically designed to work with the old-fashioned materials found in its classics. The company also knows that most owners aren't driving their vintage cars everyday. So this formulation is more alkaline that normal to neutralize acids that they build up and corrode components.
Porsche celebrates Le Mans return with Martini edition 911
Tue, 10 Jun 2014If we've said it once, we've said it a hundred times - but we'll gladly say it again: there are few racing liveries as iconic as Martini. And while those stripes have adorned countless Lancia and Ford rally cars, grand prix racers (like the latest Williams) and even speedboats, they remain inexorably tied to Porsche. Fortunately that point is not lost on Porsche itself, which has lately put them on its own 918 Spyder, race-spec 911 and all manner of merchandise. And this is the latest.
To celebrate its return to Le Mans this year, Porsche Exclusive is offering this special Martini Racing Edition. It's based on the 911 Carrera S, which means the more potent 3.8-liter flat six with 400 horsepower, but upgrades, as you might have guessed, with a whole mess of Martini Racing stripes and logos, along with the Aerokit Cup front and rear spoilers. The badges and stripes abound inside as well, where you'll also find such optional extras as the Porsche Communication Management system, Bose audio and black leather electric sport seats.
Porsche is offering the 911 Carrera S Martini Racing Edition in either white or black, but unfortunately not in our market - just in Europe, China and Latin America. Those who miss out will (in certain markets anyway) be able to order the decal set separately though. Feel free to read more in the press release below.
