1986 Porsche 911 Carrera Turbo * Certified Clean Auto Check * Two Owners! 1986 Porsche 911 Turbo 2-Door Coupe
Vehicle Description Offered for sale is an amazing and well-kept 1986 Porsche 930 Turbo. The 930 Porsches are iconic machines and one of my personal favorites. This is a prime example - garaged, and lovingly maintained by two previous owners, the last of which owned the vehicle for 10 years. Previous owner has only driven this car on occasional weekends and regularly serviced the car as needed. The paint appears to be original, showing a few minor rock chips on front valance and hood. AC is original, and does not blow very cold. Interior is striking and well-preserved. The car looks to be all stock with the exception of the radio and B&B exhaust. The original Fuchs are in great shape and the tires are fairly new. The clutch feels great .Overall the car appears to be mechanically sound and tracks firm, as it should. I have driven this car personally, and it always excites me to get behind the wheel of these amazing machines. Our 930 Turbo comes complete with, Certificate of Authenticity, books, tool kit and compressor. Code Option Description. 018 Sport steering wheel with elevated hub, 158 Radio "Monterey" - 86 "Reno" - 87 . Not Available. 220 Locking differential 533 Alarm system, 650 Sunroof , C02 Equipped with catalytic converter. Early 911's are robust cars but are also up to and beyond 4 decades old, so purchasing a Pre-Purchase Inspection is always wise. A buyer should plan to have some financial investment in these cars after purchase. However, if well maintained, they will be wonderful drivers for years, and as an added bonus, have a propensity to appreciate in value. Volkswagen Group's Vision 2030 strategy could bring revolution to the brands
Sat, May 11 2019One would expect a corporate plan called "Vision 2030," looking 11 years ahead through wildly tumultuous times, to involve great change and numerous forks in numerous roads. According to Automobile's breakdown of Volkswagen's path forward, though, the plans contain some lurid potential surprises. The ultimate aim is return on investment, and that means ruthless reorganization of a conglomerate with eight primary car brands, two car sub-brands, and Ducati motorcycles. The first two Vision 2030 cornerstones Automobile mentions are near boilerplate: Production network restructuring, and "streamlining of key technologies." The latter two are the ones that could upend what we know as the Volkswagen Group: focusing on the Group's core brands — meaning Audi, Porsche, and VW — and transitioning to EVs, autonomy, and other mobility solutions. Based on the report, a quote from Audi's CTO referring to the Audi brand could cover how the Group plans to handle all of its brands: "We need to find a sustainable solution for the indefinite transition period until EVs eventually take over." The boutique divisions adjacent to carmaking, Ducati and Italdesign, look likely to be spun off. For the halo car brands — Bentley, Bugatti, and Lamborghini — apparently shareholders want double-digit returns on investment, and the trio doesn't have long to hit the target. One eyebrow raiser is when the report states, "Bugatti is tipped to be gifted to [ex-VW Group Chairman] Ferdinand Piech." Piech fathered the Veyron during his tenure at VW, and it was thought he commissioned the La Voiture Noire, but he's lately stepped so far back from VW that he sold all his shares in the Group. Automobile quoted a senior strategist as saying of money-losing Bentley, "Why invest on a backward-looking enterprise when you can support a trendsetter? A proud history and excellent craftmanship alone don't cut it anymore." We guess no one at Ferrari, McLaren, or even Porsche got that memo. Bentley is reportedly close to being put in time out, and if brand CEO Adrian Hallmark can't right the Crewe ship, the hush-hush Plan B is to prop the Flying B up enough to lure a buyer. As for Lamborghini, caught between two masters at Audi and Porsche, even record-breaking numbers at the Italian supercar maker barely staved off sacrilege. It's said that VW brand CEO Herbert Diess considered putting a 5.0-liter Porsche V8 into the Aventador successor.
VW makes $23K on every Porsche sold, more than Bentley or Lamborghini
Fri, 14 Mar 2014It's a good time to be in the luxury car business. In Volkswagen Group's financial report for the 2013 fiscal year, it is revealed that that Porsche enjoyed an operating margin of 18 percent. That means the Stuttgart brand made on average about $23,200 per car sold, according to BusinessWeek. Bentley wasn't far behind, and Audi (which was combined with Lamborghini) posted a 10.1 percent margin. This compares to only around 2.9 percent for the Volkswagen brand.
"Luxury brands are on fire," said Dave Sullivan, an industry analyst at AutoPacific. He said that the average profit margin is between six and eight percent. Brands like Porsche and Bentley have the benefit of competing in rarefied markets. Buyers looking at one their vehicles have fewer models to shop against and don't care as much about price. They can also charge more for options, which further boosts income, according to BusinessWeek.
In a way, we should be more impressed by the continued success from Audi. Its models generally have direct competitors in every segment from the other premium automakers. Plus, their buyers aren't the captains of industry who are shopping for a Bentley. Still, the Four Rings is leading rivals in sales so far this year.
