This is a very original 1986 911 Targa with 97k original miles. The car has two very small areas of bubbling (see pictures), the first area is near the top of the driver’s side door and the other area is at the base of the door jamb (inside), both are very minor. Also, you will note in the picturing that the front and rear dash boards have slightly pulled away from the base. There are no leaks and the garage floor that the car is parked on is clean. The car has been owned by the same person for the past 15 years and service records are available upon request from the service center that the car was maintained. The car runs and drives very well, no smoke before, during and after driving, the engine revs nicely, and the clutch feels new (owner states that clutch was replaced), the brakes are in good order, the gears seems to shift just fine. After a dusting the car (stored in her garage), the car overall is very presentable, the body is straight and sound, the Targa top is in good shape and comes on and off easily. The glass all around is great. The guards red paint is not original but still looks nice. Overall, this is a great air cooled 911 that’s reasonably price without a reserve and a clear title (no leans). I am the smallest car dealer in the country. I love air cooled Porsche cars and have owned and driven them for 32 years. I know where to look for rust bugs and seek out dry cars. Terms & Conditions Sorry I have to say this, but after being scammed by several phony buyers I would like to make it very clear you must be ready to buy in order to bid. Watch onboard video of the Porsche 918 Spyder's record 'Ring lap
Tue, 10 Sep 2013"Pics or it didn't happen!" You could almost hear the Internet shouting this when news started to trickle in about a sub-seven-minute Nürburgring lap by the new Porsche 918 Spyder. Well, after an official press release, which we ran earlier today, we have your "pics." Moving pics, to be more exact. Porsche has released on-board footage of the 6:57 lap.
The video, which runs about eight-and-a-half minutes, and shows the 918 from inside the car on a flying lap of the German track. Perhaps what's remarkable is just how undramatic it all looks. Sure, there's some sawing at the wheel from test driver Marc Lieb (one of three testers, including legendary rally king Walter Röhrl), but he makes wrangling the Martini-liveried 918 look kind of easy.
Take a look down below for the full, on-board video, and then click over and read our initial write-up from earlier this morning and take a glance at the more stylized video that Porsche originally posted.
Porsche Macan sales may push brand past 200K unit goal early
Tue, 13 Aug 2013In late 2010, Volkswagen announced that it would spend the equivalent of $71 billion through 2015 to beef up its product lineup, determined to overtake Toyota in overall sales and profitability by 2018. Each of VW's many brands, in turn, would play its part contributing to a goal of 10 million sales per year. VW-owned Porsche was expected to sell 200,000 vehicles per year by 2018, but with the imminent arrival of the Macan small sport utility vehicle in 2014, the automaker is poised to meet that goal years ahead of schedule, Automotive News reports.
Porsche sold 143,096 cars in 2012, and IHS Automotive predicts Porsche will sell 63,000 Macans in 2014, according to Automotive News, which would make it the brand's best-selling vehicle. Do the math and you can see how Porsche could easily beat original expectations ahead of schedule. But Porsche's sales and marketing boss Bernhard Maier says not so fast: "We will not offer [63,000 Macans] in 2014 as we will still be ramping up production and introducing models top down," he told Automotive News Europe. Whether Porsche surpasses the 200,000 mark early or not, he said, the company will not set a new sales target and will remain committed to its business model.
The Macan shares its architecture with the Audi Q5, but Porsche will be able to charge more for its SUV. Tim Urquhart, a senior analyst at IHS Autmotive, told Automotive News that Porsche can charge 10 to 20 percent more, for what is basically the same SUV, than other VW Group brands. How's that for brand value?
Porsche 911 Carrera 4S named Motor Trend Best Driver's Car [w/video]
Thu, 22 Aug 2013Motor Trend has named the 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S its best driver's car for 2013. The annual
competition for the title included some of the best performance cars that have gone on sale in the past year. The new C4S follows the 2012 Best Driver's Car award winner, a two-wheel-drive Carrera S.
Determining the winner of the coveted title isn't easy. Each vehicle is pushed through Motor Trend's normal battery of instrumented tests. Editors then spend time with each car over a 500-mile tour of mixed conditions before a final batch of testing at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, with pro racer Randy Pobst at the wheel.
