- Etc.
The paint and body on this Porsche are in very nice condition. The auto check report is clean with no accidents and the car still maintains all of its original body panels. All of the VIN # stickers, inspection stickers, and even the option code sticker are still present in their original locations. The body is super straight with only a few minor dings which don't detract from this car's overall excellent condition. The paint is beautiful. It has great depth and shines up like new. Grand Prix white is really a hard color to beat on these older Porsches. There are only a few minor nicks, chips, etc. Overall, the paint looks outstanding as you can see in the pics! The interior is very nice as well with minor wear showing on the driver's seat bolster. The dash, door panels, carpeting, rear seats, etc. all show excellent. It is very obvious that this car has always been very well taken care of and garage kept. The canvas top looks great too with the exception of two very small punctures which have been patched. The back window looks clear. The top seals up very well with very little wind noise. The color matched Fuchs alloys really set this car off. This really is a sharp 911.
Mechanically, the car is sound. The 3.2 liter flat 6 starts easily and runs great. it does not run hot, smoke, knock, leak oil, etc. It holds perfect oil pressure and pulls strong through all 5 gears. The transmission shifts perfectly and was rebuilt just 9K miles ago. The car also received a brake job and was lowered and aligned at this time as well. Mileage on the car during all of this service work was 96,033. I have the receipts. The car drives exceptionally well and is a pleasure to operate. The only thing that the car will need soon is rear tires ( they are getting a little thin). Otherwise, the car needs nothing and everything seems to work as it should including the lights, turn signals, wipers, horn, clock, AC, heat, defrost, power windows, stereo, etc. Remember, I have a clean and clear title, auto check report, service records, books, etc. for this 911. Simply fly in and enjoy your drive home. Or, if you choose to use the buy it now option I will ship this car to your home free of charge as well as put 2 new rear tires on the car at my expense! Don't miss this opportunity to own this future classic Porsche.
Many of my auctions end with just a phone call. I can arrange shipping worldwide and have shipped numerous Porsches to Europe, etc. 205-276-1918.

Playboy reveals its 2013 Cars of the Year
Thu, 20 Dec 2012Vaunted men's magazine Playboy knows that its readers are nearly as interested in cars as they are in the female anatomy... sorry, we thought we could write that with a straight face. Anyway, the buff-book does occasionally fill some of its spreads with sexy metal, to accent all the rest of the sexiness.
To wit, the magazine has unveiled its feature on the 2013 Cars of the Year. Without giving us much in the way of criteria for the awards, nor a clear framing of the categories ("Responsible Ride" is a particularly challenging concept, especially when you consider that the Mazdaspeed3 was the winner), Playboy has nevertheless highlighted what we assume to be it's favorite 12 or 13 (depending on how you count) cars from the 2013 model year.
Headlining the class is the Porsche 911, which Playboy writers single out for having "remarkable electronic voodoo." BMW M5 is named "Slickest Sports Sedan" though the Cadillac ATS then follows on because "we couldn't resist giving the new Caddy a shout-out." The rest of the picks are pretty conventional (save, perhaps, the Honda Fit EV as "Ace Electric"), even if the categories and methodology are fairly wonky. Cruise through or gallery for a taste or check out the full list, here. The site is safe for work, and you can legitimately (this time) say that you were reading it for the articles.
Porsche Cayman GT4 storms Switzerland with 385 hp [w/video]
Tue, Mar 3 2015Much as we love the Porsche 911 in all its variants, there's definitely a case to be made for the smaller Cayman as the best-driving sports car in the company's lineup. We adore it in all forms, and most recently fell madly in love with the new Cayman GTS. But here at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, Porsche has unveiled a truly special, range-topping variant of its mid-engine coupe: the GT4. And after seeing it in person, we're pretty much head-over-heels in love. That's because the GT4 is the most hardcore variant of the Cayman yet, using a 385-horsepower version of Porsche's 3.8-liter flat-six, derived from the 911 Carrera S. It sends power to the rear wheels solely via a six-speed manual transmission with dynamic gearbox mounts, and we're told the hot new coupe will sprint to 60 miles per hour in just 4.2 seconds – a full half-second quicker than the 340-hp Cayman GTS. Building upon that, the GT4 uses a host of chassis components from the potent 911 GT3, and offers further upgrades like ceramic brakes and carbon fiber bucket seats. This should make for one seriously track-worthy machine, and Porsche already says that the GT4 will run the Nurburgring in a scant 7:20 – the same time as the 2011 911 GT3. It's all very awesome, this GT4. To say we're stoked would be a gross understatement. Look for it to hit Porsche dealers in July, starting at $84,600. This content is hosted by a third party. A New Member of Porsche's GT Family The benchmark in its class: the Porsche Cayman GT4 Atlanta, Feb. 3, 2015 - Porsche's GT family is proud to announce the addition of an exciting new member: the Cayman GT4. This is the first Porsche GT sports car based on the Cayman and features components of the 911 GT3. Clocking a lap time of 7 minutes and 40 seconds on the North Loop of the Nurburgring, the Cayman GT4 earns the same lap time as the 2011 911 GT3 and positions itself as the new benchmark atop its market segment. The Cayman GT4 clearly demonstrates Porsche's dedication and passion to continue to promote truly industry-leading two-door sports cars in the future – sports cars that are developed at the Motorsport department in Weissach. The engine, chassis, brakes, and aerodynamic design of the Cayman GT4 are configured for maximum driving dynamics while retaining the versatility and everyday utility that are typical of the two-seater Porsche coupe.
1983 Motorweek showdown pits Porsche 928S vs. Chevy Camaro Z28
Mon, Jan 12 2015Last month, Motor Trend threw the Camaro Z/28 and Porsche 911 GT3 into the bear pit and let them fight it out. Way back in 1983, MotorWeek had the same idea, comparing the Camaro Z/28 to the Porsche 928S. At the time, the Camaro was America's best selling sports coupe, the 928S was Porsche's top-of-the-line model that also had the highest top speed of any car sold here. And the price differential was even more stark then: $13,600 for the Camaro, $45,000 for the Porsche. That put the Z/28's cast-iron, 5.0-liter V8 with 190 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque against the all-aluminum 4.7-liter V8 with 234 hp and 263 lb-ft in the 928S. Even with that and the Camaro being 14 inches longer than the Porsche, the American was a surprising 40 pounds lighter than the German. The show took them to Summit Point Raceway in West Virginia to see how close a relative performance bargain could hang with a the German GT. Both had five-speed manual transmissions, but the high-speed corners and tight sections of Summit Point would test other handling variables, including the "bone-rattling" Camaro's solid rear axle and disc and drum brake setup vis-a-vis the four-wheel disc brakes and independent suspension on the "firm-but-smooth" Porsche. Paradoxically, the larger disparity 22 years ago resulted in a closer result. Check out the video to see how the Summit was won.
