This 1985 Porsche Carrera (VIN WP0AB0913FS121094) has approx 80k
miles and over $20k in modifications as listed below (I have receipts for all
the work). The car has been very reliable and bullet proof. It has also only required
normal maintenance for a track car (oil changes, brake fluid flushes, brake
pads and rotors, etc). I had a low speed encounter with the tire wall in turn
nine at Summit Point so I took that opportunity to add some lightweight
carbon fiber bodywork and change the black exterior color to silver. This past
year I have taken the car to VIR and Summit Point for DE events and it performed flawlessly.
I have a trailer now but have drove the car to and from many events.
(it is street legal). The original maroon seats and interior carpets, fuel tank,
spare wheel, jack and toolkit are also included.

Some kind of Porsche 911 spied in Germany
Wed, May 20 2015Seeing a Porsche undergoing testing in Germany – even at the Nurburgring – is hardly a rare sight. But this one has us scratching our heads. Though almost entirely devoid of any sort of camouflage, this particular 911 clearly has something going on. It's got LED daytime running lights (similar in appearance to those on the Cayman GT4) integrated into the front end, extra air vents around back, and a pair of exhaust tips poking out the middle of the rear bumper. In the end, we could be looking at the upcoming facelift scheduled for the 911 that will see it shift to forced induction across the entire range (save for the GT3 and GT3 RS) – or this could be another version of the existing model. Porsche has been known to churn out a steady stream of those, after all. One way or another, though, it looks like we'll be finding out sooner than later – judging from how ready this particular Elfen looks to hit the show stand and showroom. MotorWeek proves '90s were awesome with Supra, Stealth, RX-7, Corvette, 968, 300ZX comparo
Thu, 24 Jul 2014Oh, the heady days of 1993, back when the Clinton Presidency was just getting underway, and it seemed like every hot new rock band was coming out of Seattle. Sports cars in the US had finally shaken off the shackles that slowed them during the '70s and '80s, and you could buy any number of legitimately quick vehicles again. MotorWeek recently went digging into its archives to find this six-model test from 1993 showing off some of the best semi-affordable performance coupes that money could buy at the time, and it's priceless.
Featuring the 1994 model year Toyota Supra in twin-turbo guise and MY 1993 versions of the Porsche 968, Nissan 300ZX TT, Mazda RX-7, Dodge Stealth R/T Turbo and Chevrolet Corvette LT-1, MotorWeek definitely covered all of the bases. One thing that might surprise younger readers is these cars' performance. The video only provides 0-60 acceleration times, but several of these vehicles would still be considered pretty potent today - over 20 years since going on sale. The Supra is especially impressive, hitting 60 miles per hour in just 5 seconds. Even today, that's nothing to sneeze at.
Given their performance potential and still-attractive looks, it's amazing that some of these coupes are old enough to drink now. The progress of interior design and safety equipment in the intervening years is pretty shocking, though. In most of these models, having two airbags is touted as a big deal. Scroll down to watch a Throwback Thursday blast from the past about some of the '90s best sports cars.
McLaren boss' exclusive Porsche 935 Street is worth three 911 Turbos
Wed, 21 May 2014McLarens may be exclusive, but there are still hundreds - if not thousands - of people out there who can say they own one. Mansour Ojjeh is one of them, but he doesn't just own a McLaren - he owns McLaren. As in, the company that makes the racing and exotic supercars. Or 25 percent of it, anyway. As the head of Techniques d'Avant Garde, Ojjeh is one of the British outfit's largest shareholders, previously having owned Heuer watches (before selling it to luxury giant LVMH) and engineered Porsche's most successful foray into Formula One - winning the world drivers' championship three times in a row and the constructors' title twice with Alain Prost and Niki Lauda behind the wheel of McLarens with Porsche engines developed and branded by TAG.
In short, he probably could get any McLaren he wanted at the drop of a hat, but also had strong ties to Porsche in the 80s, and this is the car he wanted. It's called the Porsche 935 Street, and it's the only one ever made. Inspired by the 935 racer that won Le Mans and over 120 other races, Ojjeh contracted Porsche Exclusive when it was still in its infancy to make him one for the road. So they took a 930 bodyshell, slotted in the 3.3-liter turbo flat-six from the 934 but cranked output up to 375 horsepower, and gave it the brakes, suspension, BBS wheels and wide-body aero from the 935 racer. They painted it a deep metallic red and trimmed the interior with cream leather and wood veneer.
When all was said and done, a total of 550 modifications were performed, detailed on a seventeen-page invoice and costing as much as three new 911 Turbos at the time. Ojjeh only put 12,000 miles on the odometer, running up and down the French Riviera, and has now put it up for sale at the upcoming Bonhams auction at Spa where it's tipped to fetch upwards of 300,000 euros - equivalent to $410k at today's rates, or, once again, the price of about three new 911 Turbos.
