Very nice 1985 911 ready for a new home. I've owned the car 8 years and am happy to share immaculate records on all service totaling approximately $25k. In summary, top end rebuild at 88k, clutchfork, 1&2 synros at 89k, cooling fan housing, cooling fan and motor mounts at 95k, new front and rear shocks, valve adjustment at 102k new spark plug wires, plugs, cap and rotor at 107k, new starter at 110k, new alternator at 112k, new injector harness and sensor reference at 112k, new brake disks, pads - front and rear, bearing pack, new master cylinder, valve adjustment at 122k, complete new air conditioning at 126k, new fuel pressure regulator at 127k. Tires are new - replaced at 127k and 113k miles front and rear.
The car is in nice shape with good paint (Assume not original paint - too good of shape to be original. No overspray, door jams look good), good interior, with seats in good condition, aftermarket exhaust, MOMO steering wheel, shifter and pedals. Multiple experienced mechanics have driven it and say it's a very sound and fast 1985 911. New owner can have choice of MOMO steering wheels and gear shift knob, will provide car cover, mirror bras and magnetic hood bras. Car runs great, starts up immediately with no smoke, does not burn any oil, pulls strong on the freeway, idles great and sounds wonderful.
PPI recently performed by respected Ft. Lauderdale mechanic and car did great. I'm looking for a good home for the car and somebody who will appreciate it.

Jay Leno chats with Magnus Walker about his 1972 Porsche 911 72STR
Tue, 26 Mar 2013Magnus Walker has stopped by the Big Dog Garage again to pay Jay Leno a visit in the latest episode of Jay Leno's Garage. This time, the Porsche builder brought along his 1972 911 72STR 002. Walker calls the machine his best build to date, and the car is a rolling "best of" from Porsches past, rocking some of the more attractive elements pulled from a wide arc of 911 model years. Of course, the machine also wears a few signature Walker touches, including flush-mount turning indicators, a center-hood fuel filler and plenty of louver work.
Unlike some of Walker's other creations, the 72STR 002 is clean enough to lick. Leno seems suitably impressed with the creation, and while apparently isn't typically a fan of Porsche models in general, Walker's tastefully modified 911 has him singing a different tune. You can check out the car in the video below.
The 2014 Ruf RCT offers rear-drive action with 911 Turbo fun
Wed, 05 Mar 2014Ruf has 37 years of experience of turning Porsches into even higher performance machines. For the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, it's unveiling the RCT, or Ruf Carrera Turbo, which offers power to split the difference between Porsche's 911 Turbo and Turbo S models.
The RCT starts with a unique body kit with a new front air dam and drastically changed rear deck that combines both a small spoiler and air intake. Power is provided by a twin-turbocharged, 3.8-liter flat-six with 525 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque paired to either a seven-speed manual or seven-speed dual clutch transmission. That gives the Ruf a 5-hp and 15-lb-ft advantage over Porsche's own Turbo but is still less powerful than the full Turbo S. The RCT sprints to 62 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds and to a top speed of 196 mph.
However, the Ruf's big advantage is that it offers buyers the choice of either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, while Stuttgart's turbo models are only available spinning all four wheels. The RCT can also offers upgrades like an integrated roll cage and custom suspension packages, should the buyer be so inclined to splash out on racing kit.
Chris Harris condemns demonization of Porsche Carrera GT in wake of Walker death
Fri, 06 Dec 2013When something bad happens, it's easy to resort to scapegoating. At least for some of us, that seems to be exactly what has happened following the tragic death of actor Paul Walker and racer Roger Rodas, who were killed on November 30 in a Porsche Carrera GT. Even though officials have not yet determined the cause of the crash, that isn't stopping many theories from being put for - theories that include blaming the Porsche supercar. Rather predictably, not only is the CGT's difficult nature getting examined, but indeed, the nature of all high-performance cars is being put under the public's microscope, with some wondering what the need for all the power is.
A Google search of "Porsche Carrera GT" will find no shortage of articles about the razor-sharp handling and outright speed of the CGT. Pistonheads' Chris Harris has a different, insightful take on both the Carrera GT and the nature of all fast cars. He reflects on the matter, ironically, en route to drive the successor to the car that killed Walker and Rodas, the 900-horsepower 918 Spyder hybrid supercar.
We think it's well worth a read, as it makes a number of good points about modern high-performance automobiles and the way they're used. Click over and take a look.
