1984 Porsche 911 Targa in very nice condition. Original air cooled 3.2 engine and transmission. This is a great opportunity to own a highly collectible air cooled Porsche. 1984 was the first year for the new 3.2 Ltr engine. These early air cooled Porsches have proven to be a fantastic investment in great driving, reliable fun classic. They continue to rise in value every year and are a blast to drive. They are very durable and considered by many to be "bullet proof" engines.
This car is being sold out of an estate. The previous owner past away. It had been sitting in his garage for years waiting for him to replace the fuel pump and get it back on the road. He had removed the A/C compressor and it has not been located. It is a very original car and would make an excellent driver or could easily be brought up to show quality standards.
I had the car towed to my local Porsche shop. They replaced the gas tank and fuel pump, did an oil service and checked it out completely. It now starts and runs great. Shifts and brakes beautifully and seems to do everything just as it should. Except for the air conditioning. It tracks perfectly straight and brakes nicely. Shifts up and down without issues. The paint appears to be mostly original. it has a clean car fax with no history of any accidents.
The body shows no signs of any rust or past repairs. Original Fuch wheels are in excellent condition. Great oil pressure and pulls strong in every gear.
The original interior is all there and in good condition except the drivers seat. It will need to be recovered. The top will also need to be recovered and the rear seal replaced if you intend to use it in the rain. The top frame is excellent and fits properly.
This is a very low reserve auction as the owner intends for it to be sold. It is a great opportunity to buy a great collectible at a very fair price. Please call with questions or have it inspected prior to bidding. It is sold AS-IS and all statements in this ad are my opinions and statements of fact. Please do your homework and bid to own. I can store the car indoors for up 4 weeks at no additional charge while you arrange shipping. Winning bidder must pay $500 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit within 24 hours of the end of this sale and the balance must be paid within 5 days. NO EXCEPTIONS.
I can be reached by phone for questions, or to set up inspections at 614-352-3434

2014 Porsche Panamera 4S Executive
Fri, 09 Aug 2013If the idea of a Porsche sedan (or, long hatchback) is still off-putting to you, then you might want to look away now. For 2014, the polarizing Panamera has received a midcycle refresh bringing slightly different styling, as well as adding two new models to the lineup, the S E-Hybrid and the stretched-wheelbase Executive. Having focused most of my recent trip to Germany on a First Drive of the intriguing plug-in Panamera, I also got to spend some time with the roomier Executive model.
Offered in both 4S and Turbo guise, the Panamera Executive has been stretched by almost six inches for the sole purpose of improving rear passenger space. Although it's hard to imagine anyone would willingly buy a Porsche and opt to sit in the back seat, I'd have to say that if I'm going to be chauffeured around in a car, why not make it a Porsche? For the most part, though, I'm guessing that many Panamera Executive sedans will be owned by people who want to one-up their buddy driving a stretched BMW 7 Series or Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
Driving Notes:
Porsche continues facelift spree with 911 Turbo
Fri, 24 Jan 2014If there's ever been automotive case for constant evolution, it is the Porsche 911. It seems like every time a new version of the rear-engined sports car debuts, Porsche is already hard at work on a facelifted version of it that changes some subtle, barely noticeable aspect.
Such is the case with this round of images of a facelifted 911 Turbo, which was seen undergoing winter testing alongside the facelifted, hardtop-version of the 911 Cabriolet we showed you yesterday. The new, 991-based 911 Turbo was just unveiled in May of 2013.
Like the Cabrio from yesterday, both the Turbo and naturally aspirated models shown here feature additional slats at the rear of the car, right behind the rear wheels. These slats on the standard model lend credence to what we learned yesterday - that even the regular 911 models could end up getting turbocharged mills.
Porsche offering short-term loans to Macan waitlisters
Wed, 02 Jul 2014Walk into a Porsche dealer today, place an order for a Macan and you'll be looking at a waiting period of six months or more before you can expect delivery. That may be common enough for high-end European automakers, but the Macan is meant to lure new buyers to the brand, and the waitlist could be enough to deter them from sticking around.
The solution? Offer to lease them a Boxster or Cayman until their new Macan arrives. Shorter in term that the usual new-car lease, these six-month terms are designed to keep buyers from turning their backs, all the while experiencing the kind of vehicle Porsche does best.
Of course it doesn't hurt that the dealer then gets a used sports car to sell again once the short-term lease is up. And we wouldn't be surprised to see some buyers asking to hold on to their mid-engined sports car for a little longer, either.
