104,000 miles, have my documents plus a stack of documents from the previous owner. Car
was converted by a PA Ruf dealer but I have no records and don't know where to look for them as it is not a Ruf VIN
/ turbo car.
The 3.2 is very strong, we pulled the engine and trans. and did replaced the following:
Clutch, clutch cable, throttle cable, intake gaskets, various seals and sensors, replaced all fluids, filters, went
through the grounds, fuses and relays. Previous owner had a valve job done in the past, engine is tight and leak /
smoke free. Front brakes were rebuilt and braided stainless brake lines added.
The 915 trans. shifts great!
The cars paint was checked and had key marks in it from vandals. The paint originality indicated the dealer
conversion was done some time ago. Door panels are fair, I was going to put the
RS door panels in but never got to it.
Issues:
AC front blower is missing as is the rear compressor. I have the tail condenser and it will come with the
car.
Pass window glass has some odd scratches.
Sunroof needs the passenger side cable replaced.
Everything else for sunroof works/ slides checks out OK.
Seats were from another 84 911. The car had some awful race seats in it when I bought it. The seat frames,
foam and slider tracks are OK. The leather is in bad shape on both and they should be recovered.

Porsche 911 Carrera 4S named Motor Trend Best Driver's Car [w/video]
Thu, 22 Aug 2013Motor Trend has named the 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S its best driver's car for 2013. The annual
competition for the title included some of the best performance cars that have gone on sale in the past year. The new C4S follows the 2012 Best Driver's Car award winner, a two-wheel-drive Carrera S.
Determining the winner of the coveted title isn't easy. Each vehicle is pushed through Motor Trend's normal battery of instrumented tests. Editors then spend time with each car over a 500-mile tour of mixed conditions before a final batch of testing at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, with pro racer Randy Pobst at the wheel.
NYT profiles Blue Nelson, a reclusive and interesting CA car collector
Thu, 25 Sep 2014If it weren't for his Dale Earnhardt Sr. looks, Blue Nelson could be one one of those soft-spoken, nondescript guys whom you meet briefly and never learn much more about. However, as The New York Times shows in a recent profile and video, behind closed doors, Nelson keeps a fascinatingly eclectic collection of automotive oddities and vintage bicycles.
While his main career is in the movie industry, Nelson's other job is as a car hunter. He takes on clients searching for a specific model and helps them find and restore the dream vehicle that they're after. Hiring him takes some dedication, though, because Nelson doesn't advertise his services. "If people want to find me, they know how to find me," he says in the video.
Beyond being an automotive private detective, Nelson has a fantastically varied collection of vehicles of his own. He likes to have models that people don't usually see, and his garage holds a classic Chrysler New Yorker and an extremely rare Rometsch convertible. Although, the one that means the most to him is the 1962 Porsche 356 convertible that Blue came home in as a baby. Check out the video to learn more about Nelson and his philosophy about forming a bond with a car.
2013 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S
Fri, 19 Jul 2013I don't care who you are; when a new Porsche 911 rolls up in your driveway, that's a pretty good day. This was my very first experience with Porsche's 991 911, and after having spent time with just about every tune and trim of the last car, I was hotly anticipating comparing and contrasting.
Somehow (I don't remember sending out any cash-filled, unmarked envelopes) I'd scored a week in the 911 Carrera 4S over a long holiday weekend, too. That meant that I'd get to A) log a ton of miles in one of the best cars in the world, B) get to show-off the Porsche to family and friends and C) tempt cops in three states to pull me over. Good thing I've got the Autoblog traffic lawyer on speed dial...
