1978 Porsche 911 convertible with ultra low miles, 34,101, take advantage of this opportunity to own a rare German
classic. This vehicle has been in the family for over 18 years and previously was in Arizona. A few years ago i
began a professional restoration too its original cosmetic/mechanical beauty. To begin the 911 was brought too a
certified Porsche mechanic their recommendation was too drop the engine and inspect the clutch and pressure plate
which was in perfect condition. Next they replaced the original head bolts, replaced all gaskets and reinstalled
engine. Upon completion the second phase was to take it to the body shop which it was stripped down and repainted
in the factory guards red paint. Next i replaced interior with new leather wrapping factory Porsche sport seats/
door panels/ carpet and to finish up with installing a new convertible top. This car has all original factory
options ans parts including fuch wheels. The only thing that is not factory is the stereo system which i had
replaced to gain better sound quality. This color combination of red/black is the number 1 retail selling
combination in history for a sports car/convertible this always obtain number one resale value. This fine German
classic is on the upswing in value in the last few years and is continuing to gain value. At this time the motor has
no issues it runs, starts, shifts and performs just like a fine classic German sports car should.

Porsche would have entered F1 if Audi had blocked its Le Mans program
Thu, 13 Mar 2014Go back a few years and you may have heard rumors of Porsche heading into Formula One. That never came to pass - or at least, it hasn't yet - but that doesn't mean that it wasn't close to happening. That's how committed to returning to top-level motorsport competition Porsche has become recently.
Autosport reports that just as Porsche was merging fully into the Volkswagen Group, Zuffenhausen was weighing its options for a factory racing program. Le Mans was its favorite, which makes sense, as it remains far and away the most successful constructor in the history of the famous endurance race. But the strategists at Porsche were worried that its new corporate overlords at Volkswagen wouldn't support two LMP1 programs and would favor Audi, which has positively dominated the modern era of endurance racing, coming second only to Porsche in the number of Le Mans victories it has scored to date.
Porsche's Plan B was reportedly to head into Formula One, although it isn't clear if the German automaker was intent on starting its own team, buying an existing one or merely providing engines to other teams. Porsche fielded its own cars in F1 in the late 1950s and early 60s, and returned as an engine supplier with TAG to power McLaren in the 1980s, powering Niki Lauda and Alain Prost to the World Championship in 1984 and 1985.
Porsche boss admits Panamera's style is offputting
Sat, 11 Oct 2014
"There have been some small mistakes and we will do it better. For example the design could be better." - Matthias Mueller.
The design of the Porsche Panamera has been divisive, to say the least. Pretty much any Porsche with four doors was going to draw the ire of enthusiasts, but the fast-back-style roofline, prominent curves and seemingly never-ending hood have particularly irked some brand loyalists.
German carmakers recall 630,000 diesel vehicles in Europe
Fri, Apr 22 2016Mercedes, Opel, Porsche, and Volkswagen will recall over 630,000 cars in Europe, according to reports Friday. No diesel car has been able to get under the legal emissions limit in real-world driving, according to a German government investigation. While only Volkswagen Group has been using a specific "defeat device", other carmakers have been playing with their exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) systems. Depending of the manufacturer, the systems have been cut off at a certain temperature. In a specific test cycle the systems operate to fulfill the legal requirements, but in everyday use the limits are exceeded. According to the magazine Der Spiegel, the supplier Bosch is behind this programming and has provided it to all German automakers. The mentioned carmakers have announced recalls, but many other manufacturers are also mentioned by name in the report, including Alfa Romeo, Chevrolet, Dacia, Fiat, Ford, Hyundai, Jaguar, Jeep, Land Rover, Nissan, Renault, and Suzuki. PSA Group, which produces Peugeot, Citroen, and DS cars, declared yesterday that its offices were raided following an emissions investigation.
