1977 Porsche 911S Coupe VIN: 9117202528 915 – 5 speed
transmission Tan interior Guards Red Sunroof Factory A/C* Odometer reads 34,000
but is incorrect. It was probably rebuilt or replaced in the past. It works fine however.
This 911 is a great
running and driving car. Starts right up and drives great.
The car has been in
North Carolina for many years and is in good shape with no rust.
I bought the car a year or so ago but have a couple other cars and I need to let this one go.
Clear title in hand.
Lots of mechanical
work has been done in the last year to make this a fun and reliable daily
driver.
Work includes: New Clutch, Pressure plate and
flywheel New Throw-out and Pilot bearings New Clutch fork and seals New Clutch cable Rebuilt Pedal cluster New Plugs and wires, cap and rotor Air Filter Fuel Filter Shifter bushings New engine mounts Recent valve adjustment – (no broken
head studs) New sway bar bushings and mounts Oil Pressure and Temperature Sender
and Oil Pressure Switch Intake hoses Heater hoses Numerous other hoses, gaskets and
seals Turbo Valve covers
New Kenwood Stereo and
speakers
Fairly new tires-
probably 75-80% thread left
Fog Lights
Included Porsche
wheels appear to be from a 90’s 964 (I will include original Fuchs wheels)
All lights and
electrical equipment work fine.
The car currently has
a Bursch muffler on it that is a bit more sporty and aggressive than the stock
exhaust.
Currently the car has
a 2.7L 911 engine from a 1974 911 that had 65k miles on it when removed. The engine sounds and runs great. The original numbers
matching motor (6274784 911/85) was rebuilt by Motor Meister in CA
several years ago and needs to be redone. I have the complete engine and all
parts and will sell separately if desired. Most of the components appear in
great shape including the pistons, cylinders, heads, crank, etc.
The car is currently
Guards Red. It was originally Copper Brown Metallic.
The car appears to be
mostly original with exception of the engine and paint.
This is a great
looking and driving car. It is not a concours winner, however. There are a few
issues with the paint here and there, there are a couple dings and dents and the
interior shows a little wear and has a couple small cracks in the dash. The
sunroof needs a new cable and although the car came with factory A/C*, the
compressor is not currently installed and condition of the system is unknown. I
do have all of the parts though.
The car leaks a
little bit of oil like many 911s of this era.
This car would make a
great daily driver, a really fun track car or an excellent restoration project.
If this is like every other older 911 it will continue to increase in value.
It is very solid and
reliable and I would drive it anywhere. It rides smooth and quiet and could
cruise along at 80 mph all day long.
If you would like a PPI
(pre purchase inspection) there are a few places locally to get one and I would
recommend it for your peace of mind.
I can assist with
domestic or international shipping. Car is sold as is and includes no warranty.

Preparing for Le Mans 2014 Porsche remembers 1971 and the 917 [w/video]
Sun, 07 Apr 2013Porsche has given us another look back at its successes at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This time it's 1971, the year that its 917 set records that haven't all been eclipsed. It's 45-kilogram magnesium tube frame was the lightest, Jackie Oliver set the fastest in-race lap with a time that still stands, and winning drivers Helmut Marko - the same Helmut Marko currently with Infiniti Red Bull Racing - and Gilles Lethem did so many laps that their distance wasn't exceeded until the Audi R15 TDI did it in 2010.
1971 was also the year of the "Pink Pig." With bodywork created by a French aerodynamics firm, the wider, rounder 917 earned the porcine moniker so Porsche painted it pink and labeled it with the cuts you'd get from a pig. Sponsor Martini was so miffed they demanded all Martini branding be removed. No one can remove the thousands of photographs taken of the car ever since. Enjoy that and more in the video below.
Porsche Fire and Ice is chilling art born of flames
Wed, 01 Jan 2014Porsche held a contest inviting ten filmmakers to riff on the tagline for the Panamera, "Thrilling Contradictions," in a 60-second film. The winner was an entry called Fire and Ice by director Ross Cohen, a concept that uses just those two elements in a premise as simple as it is rewarding. For his efforts, Cohen will receive a trip to the Chicago International Film Festival, and you might see the short in the pre-movie advertisements in a theater served by Spotlight Cinema Networks.
Porsche did this kind of thing just two years ago, when it asked filmmakers to illustrate the idea of "Everyday Magic". The winner of that contest, Michael Korbel's It's a Magical Life, followed the journey of a young man to husband and father from the perspective of the trunk of a 911. You'll find that video as well as Fire and Ice below.
2015 Porsche Cayenne spotted with facelift
Wed, 03 Apr 2013Although it's only been a few years since the current Porsche Cayenne was introduced, Porsche seems to be working on a midcycle update for its big SUV possibly in time to welcome the smaller Macan. As seen in these recent spy shots, it looks like the Cayenne will be getting a minor face- and butt-lift, but it's hard to say what other changes are in store or when the updated model will hit showrooms.
Up front, expect the Cayenne's new face to resemble what was just revealed on the 2014 Panamera, and we could also see this SUV using some of the new engines introduced on the Panamera including the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 or maybe even the E-Hybrid model. We're guessing that the new Cayenne could debut sometime next year likely for the 2015 model year. In the meantime, check out the gallery of spy shots above.
