Full SC suspension with aluminum trailing arms, adjustable spring plates, front and rear sway bars, S brakes, 7&8 Fuchs rims w/ new tires, lowered and corner balanced. This beautiful Porsche glides on rails. We all know that the factory 2.7 engine had its share of serious issues. One of the reason for Porsche in late 70's to change from the 2.7 engine to the more HP and reliable 3.0 engine. The 3.0 engine was used in 1974 for the RS, and the great racing RSR models. The prior owner who also took great care of this garaged queen, had installed the awesome 1978 SC 3.0L engine (6581688) transplant (receipt included). Engine has 15K miles with backdated correct 74 exhaust. This Super strong pulling, smooth power that will a 'put a smile on your face. Front oil cooler option keeps things running cool even on the very hot Arizona days. Rebuilt SC 915 gearbox shifts smooth, precise and confident. No sloppy shifting, grinding or popping out of gear. The aluminum cases are stronger, and have strengthened differntials. 8:31 final drive ratio. The 8:31 ring and pinions are significantly stronger then the earlier 215 7:31 ratio, and most desirable one to use with higher horsepower engines where service life doubled. Beautiful period correct Recaro seats, set off the ORIGINAL interior in very good condition including headliner, and with added New carpet. Everything works. Power windows, and sunroof options. Period Air Conditioning will need service/ charge as it hasn't been used in years. New Kenwood CD stereo w/remote, ipod/mp3 and usb hook ups. New speakers in the original location behind vintage Blaupunkt door covers only. Original spare tire, jack, toolkit, original exterior mirror, COA and receipts.

The exotic '80s: Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lotus and the Porsche 959
Thu, Apr 9 2015There's no secret that we are big fans of the MotorWeek Retro Review series around here. In an automotive world that often focuses on the latest tech and what's coming in the future, it's refreshing to take a look into the past to get a new perspective. That said, the show is really outdoing itself this time by posting a full episode from the '80s to YouTube, complete with the original, jazzy opening. The video is an absolute standout, too, with drives of some of the best supercars that Europe could offer at the time. Among the now classic sportscars that MotorWeek got to drive are the Ferrari 328, Lotus Esprit Turbo, Lamborghini Jalpa and Autokraft AC Mark IV. There's even a preview that sings the praises of the tech in the Porsche 959. The episode is basically a showcase of most of the exotics from young enthusiasts' walls and school folders during the '80s and is not to be missed. EVO "2012 Car of the Year: The Track Battles" is a sports car salmagundi
Sun, 25 Nov 2012EVO has come out with another gotta-watch-it video, throwing its 2012 Car of the Year contestants around the UK's 1.5-mile Blyton Park track. It's actually a 15-minute teaser for the full-length DVD detailing the magazine's Car of the Year selection, but the tease is worth every penny free second.
Tiff Needell and sports car racer Richard Meaden handle the wheel duties, the two driving five pairs of sports cars: Lotus Exige S vs. Porsche Boxster S, Morgan Three-Wheeler vs. Toyota GT86, BMW M135i vs. Porsche 911, Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series vs. Alpina B3 GT3, the marquee event pits the McLaren MP4-12C vs. the Pagani Huayra. After a head-to-head lap with commentary during drifts, Meaden takes each car out to set a representative lap time.

Top Gear teases Porsche 918 vs McLaren P1 vs LaFerrari showdown

They've each got hybrid powertrains pairing eight or more cylinders with an electric motor to drive around 900 horsepower through seven-speed dual-clutch transmissions. They come from exotic automakers with rich racing pedigrees, and each costs around a million bucks. Leave it to the guys from Top Gear, then, to finally put it together. The story adorns the cover of this month's issue of Top Gear magazine, which arranged the showdown – not the television program that started it all.
