For sale is my 1972 Porsche 911T. This is a really nice example of a very sought after car with lots of options. This particular 911T has many S options, low mile, no accidents or rust and is in original color.

The 1972 model year has the relocated oil tank for better weight distribution and the unique side access door. This car is a numbers matching car in its original color of light yellow. It is a 5 spd, non sunroof coupe. The shut lines and panels are all excellent, and it has famous "ping" of the door shutting on both sides indicating a solid, straight, non-abused example of an early Porsche.

This 911 has been re-painted its original color and as you can see it is very nice. There are no dents and no rust. The front trunk area has its original paint and spare date code 12-71 (the car is a 1-72 production date). This car comes with paperwork from the original owner, the original owners manual and service book and receipts all the way back to the 1970's. The mileage and ownership is well-documented. It also comes with two additional original Fuch wheels and tires, the original tool kit, the original steering wheel and original headlamps and chrome surrounds. It also is sold with the ORIGINAL WINDOW STICKER!

The car drives very strong and handles well with its brand new Pirelli tires on it. The wheels were recently polished and repainted and look great as you can see. I do have the center caps although they are not shown in the photos.

This 911 has the rare S gauges and trim, S calipers and struts, etc.... The engine runs strong, and yes it does leak oil. The source is at the case and rather than remove and re-seal before selling I have reduced the price accordingly. You can still drive this car as it has great compression and power. The transmissions shifts smoothly and feels direct and more precise than all others I have driven. The brakes were recently done.

The interior has nice shape original seats with minor wear, only a small tear (slit) ..also on the headliner over the driver and two cracks on the original dash. All gauges work except the clock that just recently decided to stop keeping time.

This is a rare and sought after car that I have to let go and hope that it goes to a good home. Thanks for looking.

If you would like more background information please email me. Thank you.

Infiniti cribs new US boss from Porsche

Mon, 19 Aug 2013

Just weeks before he was supposed to become CEO of Porsche Cars Australia, Infiniti has apparently offered Porsche COO and Executive Vice President Michael Bartsch a deal he couldn't refuse. Thus, Bartsch has join the company as Vice President of Infiniti Americas, the luxury marque's top North American post. Bartsch replaces Ben Poore, who has been with the automaker since 2008, having led both a 22-percent sales surge in 2012 and the brand's current sales slough, Automotive News reports.
Bartsch, Porsche's No. 2 US executive, has held the COO and Executive Vice President positions at Porsche since 2005 and was scheduled to become CEO of Porsche's Oz division on September 1. Infiniti has experienced a number of recent personnel changes in the past week: it named Vincent Gillet, formerly an executive for Starwood Hotels & Resorts, to lead its marketing efforts worldwide and Simon Cox, a former designer for automakers including Ford and Peugeot, to head a new design studio in London.
Poore reportedly will pursue other interests outside of the auto industry. Read more about the personnel change in the press release below.

Driving the Panamera and Mike's Rant | Autoblog Podcast #487

Thu, Sep 8 2016

This week we cover some recent news like the upcoming Land Rover Discovery, updates to FCA's large car platform (including the Challenger), and talk about water injection. Then we go into what we've been driving - David just finished his time in the Porsche Panamera Turbo and Mike tried the GMC Acadia. And then Mike (who is still uncomfortable writing in the third person) goes on a rant about why automakers shouldn't specify which cars are aimed at women. The rundown is below. Porsche announces plan to replace 911 GT3 engines

Wed, 19 Mar 2014

About a month back, we reported that Porsche was suspending delivery of its 911 GT3 due to reported incidents of the engine bursting into flames. A few days later, Porsche told owners of the new track-ready models not to drive their cars and had their local dealers pick up the cars in question. Just a couple of days ago, we reported that Porsche was working on a fix, and now we have the official details.
Following an internal investigation prompted by two such incidents, Porsche has confirmed that is has identified the problem as resulting "from a loosened screw joint on the connecting rod." The loose connecting rod, Porsche found, damaged the crankcase, which in turn resulted in oil leaking and then - in at least two cases - igniting.
Our source is unaware of Porsche being contacted by GT3 owners concerned about the impact of a replacement engine on their car's collectibility or resale value.
