For private sale is my 1971 911 T. The car is in outstanding condition, and needs nothing. It was completely restored/refreshed using as many original parts as possible and only replacements where necessary. The car has a believed original mileage of 77,000 miles and has lived nearly it's entire life in Southern California. It has zero rust issues, and is a very solid chasis. It is finished in its original HelGelb, or light yellow 6262-L. The interior is near perfect and still has it's original radio, and owners manual present. It features sport seats, and very good door pannels and dash. The headliner is also perfect. It is an original sunroof car, which is in perfect working order. It features through the grill fog lights, S trim and front spoiler. The wheels are near perfect deep 6's and have a period correct finish. Tire are also brand new. The engine has just 450 miles on it after a complete rebuild using new E pistons and cylinders, and Daugherty E cams. The carbs are very good running italian Webers. The original cams, pistons and cylinders, and Zennith carbs are available if you wish to go back, but I'm not sure you would want to. This is a very nice stout engine that runs perfect and gives a bit of better performance. The finish in the engine bay is as original as possible also, and even retains its original engine blanket. Exhaust is SSI heaterboxes with sport muffler. The brakes are all new from master cylinder, to discs, lines etc. The gear box shift flawlessly, and the clutch is new also. Pannel fit is original and outstanding.  Complete tool kit comes with the car. There is really  too much to list in detail, but the pictures hopefully show what a very nice, and not over restored car this is. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have...Steve 1.805.791.0233  Serious buyers only please.

Porsche revisits its remarkable SC East African Safari rally car

Wed, 09 Jul 2014

Porsche and motorsports just seem to go hand-in-hand. The brand has defined itself by its ability to compete on the track with the concept that racing bred better road cars. While we are used to seeing 911s speeding along circuits around the world, the rear-engine icon's success in rallying is somewhat less well known. The Porsche Museum aims to fix that by highlighting a 911 SC that competed in the 1978 East African Safari Rally.
The 911 rally car definitely projects a '70s vibe. You wouldn't see too many racecars with a pink brush bar sliding through the stages these days, but it looks amazing. Its bank of spotlights and two, giant, hood-mounted horns definitely give away the car's purpose. Best of all, that fantastic Martini livery defines the looks of Porsche racers from this era.
The 911 SC performed well in the East African Safari Rally, but some suspension damage meant that this particular one never raced again. It's been a part of the Porsche Museum ever since. Scroll down to learn a little more about one part of the brand's off-road legacy.

Proof the world revolves around the Porsche Cayman

Sat, 27 Apr 2013

Or at least the world revolves underneath the Porsche Cayman, in the latest video showing off Stuttgart's mid-engine coupe. Porsche put an Easter egg in the world that spins triple-time, a "famous relative" of the Cayman hidden somewhere on the marble planet, and gave a Porsche Martini bag to one of the first 50 people who could point it out.
With more than 300 views there's no chance you'll win the bag, but you can still go on the treasure hunt in the video below.

Porsche 918 Spyder officially priced from $845K, Weissach package $84K more

Wed, 23 Jan 2013

Porsche has released official pricing for its entire lineup of 2013 models, which just happens to include the upcoming 918 Spyder hybrid supercar. The 795-horsepower advanced-technology-lab-on-wheels is now officially confirmed to have a starting price of $845,000 in the US, which is the exact amount we were told earlier when we had the opportunity to ride shotgun in some 918 Spyder pre-production test vehicles.
What we didn't know at the time was the cost of the Weissach trim package, which is a high-performance upgrade to the standard vehicle that includes the deletion of some interior amenities and addition of lighter-weight carbon fiber appointments, magnesium wheels, flame-resistant upholstery, racing belts and aerodynamic aids - it's meant for track-going folk who intend to use their 918 Spyders as God, country and manufacturer intended.
All told, the Weissach package should drop the 918 Spyder's curb weight by some 80 pounds, while also lightening your wallet of an additional $84,000 - the car's MSRP with the Weissach package is $929,000. These prices don't, however, include destination charges, which, for something like the very limited edition 918 Spyder (only 918 will be made), could very well cost considerably more than your average Porsche.
