1967 Porsche 911 Orange on 2040-cars
Charlottesville, Virginia, United States
Stunning 1967 Porsche 911. This car is in pristine, concours condition and must be one of the finest on the market. The condition of this car can’t be overstated; the car is in better than new condition. The restoration began with a rust free and complete California car with matching numbers and an open checkbook. The restoration work was documented. The tangerine paint (code R2002, correct as per the COA) is show quality. Every nut and bolt was removed, restored and replated. NOS parts were used where necessary. The original engine (911480) and drivetrain has been rebuilt and is finished to the highest standards. The entire suspension was restored both cosmetically and mechanically to better than new condition as was the underside of the car. New glass including proper Sigla windshield, rear glass, all rubber body seals and trim was installed or restored; the doors give the Porsche "ping" when opened/closed. All trim is correct, and the drivetrain is original to the car and numbers matching. The car comes with her Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, tool kit, manuals and documents. This car checks all the boxes for collectability and is ready to show or go. She is beautifully turned out with no issues, a concours clean underside, and spotless engine bay and interior.

Porsche 918 Spyder burns to ground in gas station conflagration
Mon, 29 Sep 2014There's one fewer Porsche 918 Spyder zipping along the roads of Toronto, Canada, today. A fire at a gas station over the weekend claimed one of the hybrid supercars in a massive blaze, and a portion of the inferno was caught on video.
According to our partners to the North at Autoblog Canada, the cause of the fire hasn't been officially confirmed yet, but witnesses reportedly claimed gasoline somehow came into contact with the hot exhaust outlets that exit out of the top of the supercar's engine bay. This was just one of two 918s believed to be in the Toronto area.
Other than a possible broken heart from the owner, the fire reportedly caused no injuries, and only the Porsche and gas pump appeared to sustain serious damage. Warning, the video of the conflagration does contain some explicit language.
eBay Find of the Day: 1981 Porsche 928 convertible by Carelli
Wed, 30 Apr 2014The Porsche 928 was perhaps the consummate European GT of its day. With a powerful front-mounted V8 engine that grew in displacement as the model years went on, it was capable of eating up the miles at triple-digit speeds in great comfort for occupants. It was also an unusual beauty, with its sharp front and curved rear featuring innovative integrated bumpers.
Currently for auction on eBay Motors is one of the rarest 928s you're likely to find, in a handsome combination of Guards Red paint and tan leather interior, though we wouldn't mind a less-showy finish to the factory wheels. According to the seller, this car is one of eight 928 convertibles by Carelli Design, a firm that's still in business.
The auction claims that these cars were made in 1981 as a feasibility study between Carelli and Porsche for a possible production 928 convertible. The seller says he worked at the dealership where the car is said to have been originally sold $103,000. To remove the roof and hide the convertible top, there were significant changes made to the body and interior, including redesigned doors and a completely new trunk. As you can see in the gallery, when down, the top is completely hidden in a very factory-like fashion. When up, it looks slightly awkward, though (and we'd really like to see a rear three-quarter view to check out the blind spots).
Porsche to decide soon on Bugatti future
Mon, Jun 21 2021WEISSACH, Germany — Volkswagen will soon decide on the future of its luxury brand Bugatti, Oliver Blume, Volkswagen management board member and CEO of Porsche AG, said on Monday. Last week, Reuters reported that Bugatti was working on a strategic partnership with Rimac, which will likely result in a joint venture between Porsche and Rimac, with Porsche as a minority partner, Volkswagen CEO Herbert Diess said in March. "The future of Bugatti is an issue that will be decided on a group level," Porsche said in a statement, declining to comment further. Porsche boss Oliver Blume earlier this year said intense discussions on Bugatti's future were ongoing and that Rimac could play a role as the brands were a good technological fit, adding that a decision was expected in the first half of 2021.
