Super Coupe on 2040-cars
Nashville, Tennessee, United States
Excellent opportunity.
13 year PCA member. 13 year 356 Registry member I will sell overseas, but through a bank transfer not an escrow. I am the second owner of this jewel, and have paperwork to verify. A car that has been pampered all it's life. Please inspect before you drop 70 grand on this investment. Here are pics from when I bought it 33 months ago: I don't want to waste your time, so here are the flaws: - cabin lights do not work - interior turn signal stops after a flash or 2 (exteriors work perfect) - about 7 dimples of trapped moisture in the drivers front fender - passenger seatbelt is from a Buick (it's pictured) - rust bubbles on both doors in rear corner - both are a quarter the size of a dime - no receipt on paint job - although it is outstanding - not original steering wheel - never had it - aftermarket exhaust - clock does not work (clock light does) - seats are pulling apart at the base of the frame (can only see upon close inspection) - paperwork begins in 1975 (but have letter from owner to Alabama DMV to register lost GA title) I can send additional pics if you request. Thanks. |

Corvette gets slidey with Britain's best performance cars
Sat, 18 Oct 2014Autocar wants to find Britain's best driver's car, and it's challenging a murderers' row of some of the world's best performance vehicles to find out, including the latest Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. All of them were therefore assembled at the Castle Combe Circuit to find a winner.
If it wants to take the crown from this pack of mostly European competitors, the 'Vette has to beat some steep competition. Its challengers include monsters like the Ferrari 458 Speciale, Ariel Atom 3.5R and Jaguar F-Type Coupe. As a further hurdle for the winner to clear, Autocar also has last year's champ among the fighters - the Porsche 911 GT3.
Even if you're not at all interested in the C7, there's still something here for practically any fan of fast cars. The competitors include relative oddities among the pack like the Renault Mégane RS Trophy and Alfa Romeo 4C. Plus, Autocar has some well-positioned microphones that let you hear the Atom wailing like a banshee and the roar of the 458 Speciale. Check out the video to see which one of these all-stars takes home the award this year.
Volkswagen Group previews its wares on eve of Geneva show
Mon, 05 Mar 2012The Volkswagen Group is comprised of 11 brands producing 240 vehicles across 49 factories throughout the world. So the best way to show off the range of the VW family is to cram a few thousand journalists and VIPs into a massive makeshift stand to outline the Group's goals, what's in the pipeline and what you'll be able to buy later this year.
To that end, VW pulled out all the stops on the eve of the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, bringing along 10 vehicles from across the range. We'll be delving into the details of each over the next two days of show coverage, but before that happens, you can read all about what we saw tonight from the cheap seats after the break.
Porsche inspecting 2,500 Euro-spec Macans for damaged brake boosters
Thu, 29 May 2014Porsche is investigating a potential brake issue with 2,500 of its new Macan CUVs. The inspection focuses on the state of the brake systems following tests that discovered the brake boosters may have been damaged during assembly.
Porsche has pointed out that, despite the concern, the affected Macans still meet safety regulations. The issue is predominantly found in European-spec Macans, which according to Porsche, have been delivered to consumers. Owners of affected vehicles in Europe will be notified and asked to come in for a brief, no-cost inspection.
American consumers, though, have no reason to worry. We reached out to Porsche Cars North America, who confirmed that the vehicles in question were assembled before US-spec cars were screwed together.
