Porsche 356 A 1956 Project Coupe #56039 , Running 1956 Engine # P61724 on 2040-cars
San Rafael, California, United States
Your bidding on a Beehive Project Porsche 356A Coupe
Car looks to have been an Original Side Trim car and looks to have been Blue Originally . Original to the car is the 519 Trans and small diameter steering wheel with horn ring. Seats look to be Pre A and dated '54, gas tank is dated '58 Both doors have glass and back windshield is there, both 1/4 window frames and latchs are there but glass missing. Car looks to have been updated to later ZF steering box There is a running '56 engine that go's with the car, don't know much about it, but we did a few things to get it running. I have a link to both the car and the engine Some obvious things missing on the car would be the back seat and front windshield, as well as some of the dash items, sun visors , and obvious things missing on outside of car visable in pics. It should be said that most small items missing you would replace anyways when restoring the car . What you see is what you get, this is a project, but well worth undertaking in todays increasing skyrocketing prices of all Porsche 356. The early Beehive cars seem to be really taking off now and in big demand and bringing really high prices. Jump in while you can .... Clear California Title in my name . Port of Oakland is an hour away and International shipping is not a problem, I have a shipper and she is easy to deal with and she speaks German ! :-) Happy Bidding |

Porsche offers detuned Boxster and Cayman 211 in Europe
Mon, 15 Sep 2014Looking at a new Porsche Boxster? First of all, we commend you on your choice, because in its latest iteration, the Boxster has sped out from under the shadow of the 911 and into its own. But now to choose: do you get the base model with 265 horsepower, the Boxster S with 315 hp, or the top-of-the-line Boxster GTS with 330 hp? It's a daunting question, considering the $10k+ price gap between each model that you could put into the gas-and-rubber jar. Same goes for the Cayman, albeit with ten more horses across the board. But as if that's not confusing enough, there appears to be another player on the field. (That is, at least, in certain European markets.)
Appearing on the company's Belgian and Norwegian sites are the Boxster 211 and Cayman 211. As you might have guessed, they pack a less substantial 211 horsepower, undercutting what we know as the base models. Instead of using a smaller engine, though, the Boxster and Cayman 211 get the same 2.7-liter boxer six, just with less power.
As a result, they're a bit slower off the line: the Boxster 211 takes between 6.1 and 6.4 seconds to get to 62, depending on exact specifications, compared to the 5.5- to 5.8-second range for the 265-hp Boxster, while the Cayman 211 is quoted at 6.2 seconds versus the 275-hp Cayman's 5.4 to 5.7 seconds. Fuel consumption and emissions, on the other hand (and as you'd expect), are better in the 211. But while Porsche Norway charges around $10k less for the 211 models, Porsche Belgium charges the same for the 211 models as it does for the next most powerful versions (from which they appear to be visually indistinguishable).
2014 Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition is the ace of base
Tue, 14 Jan 2014If there's one automaker that certainly doesn't skimp on the special edition models, it's Porsche, and here at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, we're getting our first look at yet another unique take on one of the company's most popular models. It's called the Cayenne Platinum Edition, and while many special models build off of higher-trim vehicles, this one adds a bit of flair to the most basic version of the luxury SUV.
The Platinum Edition is available on Cayennes with the base 3.6-liter V6 or the 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6. Platinum models are set apart from other models with the addition of silver exterior accents on the grilles, window trim and rear spoiler, as well as the two-tone, black-and-beige interior scheme. It also comes standard with the eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission, Power Steering Plus, Park Assist, the Convenience Package and Bose audio.
The cost of entry? $63,000 for the naturally aspirated Cayenne or $66,900 for the diesel. That's a full $13,000 more than the base model, but Porsche says it's actually a bargain as opposed to selecting all of those options individually. Have a look below for Porsche's official release.
Porsche 911 already testing next refresh
Wed, 11 Dec 2013The latest Porsche 911 may still be a newer car, but that hasn't stopped the German company from starting development of a facelifted version of the rear-engined sports car, testing in what looks like southern Europe.
Due to hit the market in 2015, our spies think what we're seeing here is the new GTS variant, which, following the evolution of the last-generation 911, will make its debut on the facelifted car. Featuring the wider rear haunches of the all-wheel-drive Carrera 4, the GTS should enjoy a slight power boost, to 408 ponies.
Aesthetically, there are some additional vents in the rear bodywork, along with a revised front bumper and tweaked day-time running lights. The taillights get some attention as well, and will likely grow over the current car's skinny rear lamps.
