1965 Porsche 356sc Coupe Matching #'s Last Year Of 356 on 2040-cars
New York, New York, United States
I am pleased to offer this 1965 Porsche 356 SC coupe. 1965 was the final year of production for the classic Porsche 356 making this car a very collectible Porsche. The SC model included an upgraded 95HP pushrod motor. Car retains it’s original color combination of signal red with black vinyl interior (according to the pictured Kardex). Mileage on the odometer shows 4423 (actual mileage is unknown).
1965 SC Production Estimate:
According to my research (cannot be confirmed): According to the production data in Brett Johnson’s book, for the 1965 calendar year, Porsche built 485 type 616/16 engines. Of course not all of those went into 356C cars built in that year, but one can still make reasonable estimate that of the 1,101 coupes and 588 cabriolets built in that year maybe 30% had SC engines installed in them. So that would be about 330 SC coupes.

Proof the world revolves around the Porsche Cayman
Sat, 27 Apr 2013Or at least the world revolves underneath the Porsche Cayman, in the latest video showing off Stuttgart's mid-engine coupe. Porsche put an Easter egg in the world that spins triple-time, a "famous relative" of the Cayman hidden somewhere on the marble planet, and gave a Porsche Martini bag to one of the first 50 people who could point it out.
With more than 300 views there's no chance you'll win the bag, but you can still go on the treasure hunt in the video below.
2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed statue unveiled
Thu, 11 Jul 2013Each year at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, a single marque is celebrated with a large and ornate "Central Feature" sculpture, with recent automakers including Audi in 2009, Alfa Romeo in 2010, Jaguar in 2011 and Lotus last year. This year, Porsche gets the honor, and it is using the opportunity to commemorate 50 years of the 911.
The sculpture features three generations of the 911 towering over the Goodwood House. The most recent 991 911 has the lowest position, with an original 1963 car second highest and a 1973 2.7 RS at the top of the pile. Be sure to check out the sculpture for yourself in the gallery of images above.
Porsche gives Nick Murray exactly what he deserved [w/video]
Sat, 19 Apr 2014The tale of Nick Murray and his lemon Porsche 911 appears to have come to a satisfactory end. As noted in the original story about Murray, he and Porsche Cars North America met and came to a resolution. However, we didn't know exactly what that meant, until now.
Murray has created a new video explaining that PCNA offered to buy back the car at full price or give him an exact replacement for it. This was exactly what he was asking for. Murray remains pro-Porsche in the new video. "I am definitely considering reordering a Porsche 911," he says.
Porsche also posted a message on its Facebook page that clarified the situation. "We at Porsche have always sought excellence in all that we do. We know you expect it of us. And when we don't meet that standard, we make every effort to improve," said a portion of the note.
