This porsche was driven up until 1990 when the right fender was hit. It was a light hit but the fender scraped the wheel when the wheel turned. The owner could not afford to repair it at the time and the car sat under a tarp for the past 23 years. The car ran and drove perfectly when it was parked due to the accident. The fender could be repaired easily and does not need replacement. Unfortunately the car rusted in many places while it sat. The outer body is solid and in good shape but the inner fender closing panels are rusted through on the bottoms, the original stampings are still present and are solid so they could be patched without full replacement. The floor pan is fair and it could be preserved as well, but the longitudinals would have to be replaced along with the battery pan. The front windshield has a crack and would need replacing. The heater exchange boxes are rusted, as well as the muffler, so they would need replacement. The left side heat exchanger could be saved, but the right's outer sheet metal is rusted pretty bad. The numbers match on this car and it appears to have never been damaged other than the right front fender's current damage. The doors open and close nicely. The hood and deck lid are in good shape with just a small rust through spot on the deck lid. A Weber carburetor conversion was put on the car, but I have the original Solex carbs that will go with the car as well. This car is a C and not an SC, but the SC script was put on the back after the second owner had the carb conversion done. The engine turns and the oil looks good. This engine would most likely run fine without needing a full rebuild. A $500 Pay Pal deposit is due within 24 hours of the auction's close and full payment within seven days of the auction's close.

Father-son team grows close by building tuned Porsche
Mon, 21 Jul 2014We've seen several heartwarming videos of kids bonding over cars with their parents, whether racing together or giving them as gifts. The story of Leh Keen and his father McGrath, though, is somewhat different. Not many dads are looking for a vehicle quite this mental.
As Leh tells it, his dad saw a video online of one of the wild Porsches from Japanese tuner Rauh-Welt Begriff and decided that he needed one of the creations in his own garage. Since Leh knows something about cars himself as a driver for Alex Job Racing in the United SportsCar Championship, McGrath put his son in charge of managing the build from the company.
When the car made it to the US for completion from Rauh's famed builder Nakai, father and son bonded over the red, widebody 993-platform 911. The final product is certainly eye-catching. Scroll down to watch the video that features not only an engrossing father-son tale but also a seriously wicked, tuned Porsche from one of Japan's finest.
CEO says Volkswagen's buying spree is over
Mon, 03 Sep 2012
After adding Italian motorcycle icon Ducati to its stable and spending $5.6 billion on the rest of Porsche, Volkswagen CEO Martin Winterkorn says he's done shopping for a while.
"We have enough to do at the moment in taking our twelve brands to where we want to be," Winterkorn tells German newspaper Handelsblatt.
$1.4B hedge fund suit against Porsche dismissed
Wed, 19 Mar 2014Investors have canvassed courts in Europe and the US to repeatedly sue Porsche over its failed attempt to take over Volkswagen in 2008 (see here, and here and here), and they have repeatedly failed to win any cases. You can add another big loss to the tally, with Bloomberg reporting that the Stuttgart Regional Court has dismissed a 1.4-billion euro ($1.95B US) lawsuit, the decision explained by the court's assertion that the investors would have lost on their short bets even if Porsche hadn't misled them.
Examining the hedge funds' motives for stock purchases and the bets that VW share prices would fall, judge Carola Wittig said that the funds didn't base their decisions on the key bits of "misinformation," and instead were participating simply in "highly speculative and naked short selling," only to get caught out.
With other cases still pending, the continued streak of victories bodes well for Porsche's courtroom fortunes, since judges will expect new information to consider overturning precedent. If there is any new info, it could come from the potential criminal cases still outstanding against former CEO Wendelin Wiedeking and CFO Holger Härter, who were both indicted on charges of market manipulation.
