1963 Porsche 356 on 2040-cars
Claremont, California, United States
If you have any questions feel free to email me at: joleenjnnogales@artfriend.com . his is a real Porsche 356 – Cox was out to replicate Dean Jeffries custom 356 outlaw shown in my picture .Bare metal restoration in 2004 at Cox Motorsports in Grandview (Kansas City) mo.
This could be the most beautiful 356 Porsche coupe in existence! It is definitely NOT stock! Well over $100k invested to create the ultimate 356 hot rod.
Starting with a rust free 63 coupe, the car was stripped to bare metal, and totally rebuilt from the ground up. Beautifully installed new larger 911 battery box and pan at time of restoration.
Notice the incredible roofline...it has been chopped 2 inches to resemble the profile of the Porsche Abarth Carrerras.
Front fenders sloped to look similar to the A 356 fender line.
Headlights dished like Ferrarri Dino. Door handles removed, filled with metal perfectly, remote door openers installed...this blows them away at Starbucks! Show quality paint by Mike Winfrey. Won best paint at World of Wheels. Color is Porsche linen silver and applied and buffed to perfection!
Power windows, recessed license plate, and early 356 beehive taillights.
Perfect correct red interior. New carpet, headliner. New 12v wiring, modern snap in fuse box system, eliminating the hassle of old glass fuses.
All mechanicals by Cox Motorsports, the best 911 race shop in the country. Perfect 1978 3 liter 275 hp 911SC motor, 5-speed 901 gearbox, and 911 transaxle.
The front mechanicals are all 356 – the rear mechanicals are all 911.
Heater from the 911 engine works great.911 disk brakes all around, new shocks, suspension, uprights reinforced like Cox's Porsche racecars, 911 alloy wheels. Charcoal filter for gas tank, Turn signals hidden above headlights, Front fender oil cooler with thermostatically controlled fan (never overheats), Aeroquip oil lines to the motor. New Weber tuned carbs, detailed engine compartment. Performance is like no 356 you have ever driven, very, very fast and reliable. The exhaust note is spectacular, coming from the Cox Custom Exhaust system that is silver jet hot coated. This car is truly spectacular, the only one like it in the world, and gets more looks than you can imagine. It looks just right, very subtle, so the guys who appreciate the classics love this car, and the guys who love performance go nuts when they look under the custom louvered deck lid. This is your chance to have one of the most unique, beautiful Porsches anywhere. If you want it, you had better get it, because you will never see another one like this.

For some of us that day can't come soon enough, and in honor of Earth Day we've put together a list of our favorite car giveaways so you can save some green while being green. Win a 2021 Porsche Taycan Turbo S and $20,000 - Enter Here If there’s one thing Porsche is good at, itÂ’s making fast, beautiful cars, and the Taycan Turbo S is no exception. Making 750 horsepower, 774 lb-ft of torque and a top speed of 161 miles per hour, punching the accelerator will surely throw you back in your seat. In fact, its 0-60 time of 2.6 seconds matches that of the quickest Porsche 911 ever made, the Turbo S. The difference between this Taycan Turbo S and that 911 Turbo S, of course, is that the only reason youÂ’ll ever need to stop off at a gas station is to fill up on snacks. That and the fact the Taycan doesn't actually have a turbo anywhere in the car. We wouldnÂ’t be reaching for a bag of FlaminÂ’ Hot Cheetos, though, because this incredibly comfortable leather interior is immaculate, and weÂ’d hope to keep it that way. Enter here for a chance to win this prize worth $220,000. Win a Himalaya Land Rover Defender 110 EV and $20,000 - Enter Here The Land Rover Defender is an icon: an intense, luxurious off-roader that turns heads and can crawl up nearly anything. The problem? For the past 20+ years it hasn't been available in the United States and it's never been what youÂ’d call environmentally friendly. But this Defender is different. ItÂ’s vintage, restored by Himalaya and itÂ’s all-electric. At 275 horsepower, you wonÂ’t be thrown back in your seat, but the 406 lb-ft of torque helps make this an incredibly capable rock crawler.
Porsche 918 Spyder debuts with new N"urburgring lap record [w/video]
Tue, 10 Sep 2013It's been a long time in the making, but Porsche has finally revealed the final production version of its long-awaited 918 Spyder here at the Frankfurt Motor Show. And yet that's not even the big news surrounding the hybrid hypercar.
No, the big news is that, while Porsche was preparing taking the wraps off the car here in Frankfurt, elsewhere in Germany a team was setting a blistering lap time at the Nürburgring. And not just any blistering lap time, but a new world record.
Porsche claims that, on the morning of September 4, a team of three drivers (including former rally champ Walter Röhrl and Porsche test drivers Timo Kluck and Marc Lieb) broke the Nordschleife lap record, Lieb finally setting the best time at 6:57 at an average of 111 miles per hour.
The 11 best scenes from the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed
Tue, Jun 30 2015Over the last three days, the Goodwood Estate has played home to the eponymous Festival of Speed. Thrown by the biggest gearhead in the British aristocracy – Charles Gordon-Lennox, the Earl of March and Kinrara – the Festival of Speed is essentially a tremendous, gasoline-fuelled party, complete with a very large lawn sculpture, that features the world's hottest, weirdest, fastest, and loudest race, production, and historic models. While there are quite literally dozens and dozens of videos from the event – not to mention the full-day replays (of which only day one is available, at present) – we've sifted through them to pluck away the very best. There's stuff from the official Goodwood YouTube channel, as well as several videos from automakers and other third-party channels, and it's all available below. 2015 Ford Mustang GT350R Looks Barely Controllable If you thought the highest-performance Ford Mustang would somehow get more tractable or civilized once it moved to an independent rear suspension, this video shows you have nothing to worry about. Watch as an unnamed driver wrestles the new Shelby GT350R and its flat-plane, 5.2-liter V8 up the hillclimb circuit. Even with the new suspension and sticky tires, this Mustang wants to go any direction but straight, especially following its launch. 2016 Ford Focus RS, Is Very Loud, Blue Ken Block makes his first appearance on our list. Before he steps into his Hoonicorn Mustang, though, the Gymkhana expert tackled the hill in the all-new Focus RS. The vicious bellow of the 2.3-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder is the star of this commentary-free video, although the gorgeous Nitrous Blue paint job is a nice accompaniment, as well. 1965 Ford Mustang Hoonicorn Runs Hill, Nearly Kills Lord March Mr. Block's two runs behind the wheel of the Hoonicorn were, unsurprisingly, very eventful. While one attempt goes off without a hitch, seeing the American rally driver slip and slide his way to the top of the hill while taking a short break for a donut, the other is slightly more dramatic. Block, along with Lord March in the passenger seat, carries a bit too aggressive an angle into a turn and nearly puts the NASCAR-powered Mustang into the hay bales. Check out the first video above, and the second one below. Kimi Raikkonen Makes Us Miss F1's V8 Era The latest Formula One cars have been maligned for the lackluster noise produced by the new 1.6-liter, turbocharged V6.
