This is an award winning show car, that drives amazing due to modern technology. This 1962 Porsche hot-rod beauty was featured in the December 2008 issue of Porsche Excellence. Never offered for sale publicly before, you now have an opportunity to own a rare hot rod Porsche that will be the envy of everyone at the local Cars & Coffee this spring. Do not miss out on this fabulous opportunity to purchase a custom built Porsche at a signifiant savings compared to having your own built. With the recent increase in 356 values, we expect this car to be a solid investment. If you had your own custom built, it would cost well over $150,000 and take significan time to sort out. This Outlaw is ready to roll, and drives excellent. FYI: the car does not have the original motor. Instead it has a bored out 912 motor with 1720 cc for enhanced performance. Four speed gearbox with BBBC gears, lightweight flywheel, 200-mm heavy duty clutch, and Willhoit short-shift kit. Under the sleek body are Bilstein shocks and polyurethane bushings. 17.5-mm front anti-roll bar provides reduced body roll. A very rare set of 15x6-inch American Racing magnesium alloys are installed with 195/60R15 tires. Reengineered braking system with four-piston calipers at all four corners and modern fabrication utilizing components sourced from different Porsche models. Custom leather interior, grippy Nurburgring seats, alloy race pedals, custom gauges, and roll bar are just a few items worthy of mention. For more information please call (402) 592-1000 and speak to Mitch Schneringer, Sales Manager at Porsche of Omaha. You truly need to see this car in person to fully appreciate the quality of workmanship and custom fabrication. All buyers are encouraged to personally inspect car prior to purchase, or hire an independent inspector to do so on your behalf.  Thanks for looking at this beauty, please contact Mitch Schneringer for details.

2014 Porsche Cayman promo video hits the web

Fri, 28 Dec 2012

Don't know how we missed this, but you don't have to play around with the 2014 Porsche Cayman configurator to see the new coupe in action; Porsche has given us more than two beautiful minutes of Cayman footage to enjoy.
The partners in the on-screen tango are the 275-horsepower base Cayman and the 325-hp Cayman S. If you like to keep track of such things, the former starts at $52,600, the latter at $63,800, plus $950 destination for each. Watching a video like the one below, however, is free.

Porsche Macan to get four-cylinder engines

Tue, 10 Dec 2013

Porsche hasn't offered a four-cylinder engine since the 968 went out of production in 1995 - the better part of two decades ago. There'd been talk of a four-pot Boxster or an even smaller model to slot in below it, but while the latest intel indicates that Porsche is moving ahead with its four-cylinder plans, it's a different kind of vehicle that will get it first.
That, of course, would be the new Macan. Just revealed a few weeks ago at the LA Auto Show, the Macan crossover is being launched with a pair of twin-turbocharged V6 engines (a 3.0 with 340 horsepower and a 3.6 with 400 hp) and a six-cylinder turbodiesel with 258 hp. But smaller engines, according to emerging reports from Autocar and Auto Express, are on their way.
Word has it that Porsche is preparing a 2.0-liter turbo four with 280 horsepower and a diesel with the same displacement and cylinder count, engines that will power new entry-level Macan models that will slot in beneath the existing Macan S, Macan S Diesel and Macan Turbo. While the diesel is tipped to be ported over from the Volkswagen parts bin, the four-cylinder gasoline engine is said to be under development by Porsche itself, which could mean it will have a boxer layout.

Porsche's 959 is still poster-worthy after all these years

Thu, 24 Jul 2014

Today, we have the Porsche 918 Spyder. Before that, there was the Carrera GT. While both of those cars are dramatic departures from the traditional, rear-engine Porsche formula, they owe their very existence to another wild child of the iconic German brand - the 959.
Like so many of the great performance cars of yesteryear, the 959 was a homologation special, built just so Porsche could go racing in the clinically insane Group B rally series. Fewer than 400 959s hit the streets, but those that did were some of the most advanced cars of the 1980s. A rear-mounted, twin-turbocharged flat-six sent its power through a still-rare all-wheel-drive system, creating a race-inspired rocket that was, for a short time, the fastest production car on the planet.
Xcar has the story of the 959, from its inception to its conquest of the Paris-Dakar rally, which is interspersed with a drive of the legendary coupe. Scroll down for the full video.
