Up for sale is my 1962 Porsche 356 Cabriolet Super, Reuter Body Number 155743, with matching Super engine number 700266, produced in late 1961 and titled as a 1962. Car is pictured with the hardtop. Found sitting quietly in dry storage until recently, with both tops, hard top and soft convertible top, car is complete with all of its parts including the front bumper which is present but not pictured. Brought into our shop and with a fresh battery and fresh gas running to the fuel pump, we spun it over and it fired right up! Last on the road in 1978 shows the sticker in the windshield. Engine runs beautifully as you can see in the video below and holds an idle very well. Needs new muffler but carbs are tight with no leaks and after running the engine for 30 minutes the temperature gauge holds evenly just a quarter inch above cold. Oil looks good. Engine takes the gas well with no misfiring or misses or engine noise in the upper rpms. There are no excessive oil leaks. Just the normal ones.
Car was originally white (paint code 738) with red leather upholstery. Seats are out so that you can see the floors. While it still retains its original floors, it will need some floor repair as can be seen by the pictures. Doors close beautifully with a nice "thud" and engine lid and hood close nicely as well with even gaps all the way around. Hood fits wells, closes well, and is not kinked. The body shows no damage of major accident and the body lines and gaps are excellent. This car will need to be restored before it can be driven. It presents an excellent basis to start with and we see very nice examples that are matching numbers bringing more than $125K. It has all of the parts necessary to make this a top flight car. The Porsche 356 open cars are dearly sought after and are becoming very difficult to find in a condition that is restorable. It seems that those that are restored are cresting $100k for an entry level example. Please see over 100 photos on the link below:
Here is a short video of the engine running:

2014 Porsche Panamera 4S Executive
Fri, 09 Aug 2013If the idea of a Porsche sedan (or, long hatchback) is still off-putting to you, then you might want to look away now. For 2014, the polarizing Panamera has received a midcycle refresh bringing slightly different styling, as well as adding two new models to the lineup, the S E-Hybrid and the stretched-wheelbase Executive. Having focused most of my recent trip to Germany on a First Drive of the intriguing plug-in Panamera, I also got to spend some time with the roomier Executive model.
Offered in both 4S and Turbo guise, the Panamera Executive has been stretched by almost six inches for the sole purpose of improving rear passenger space. Although it's hard to imagine anyone would willingly buy a Porsche and opt to sit in the back seat, I'd have to say that if I'm going to be chauffeured around in a car, why not make it a Porsche? For the most part, though, I'm guessing that many Panamera Executive sedans will be owned by people who want to one-up their buddy driving a stretched BMW 7 Series or Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

eBay Find of the Day: Your choice of new, unregistered mid-2000s supercars
Wed, 26 Dec 2012If you didn't quite find what you were hoping to see under the tree this year, maybe it's about time you buy yourself something nice. Something like an unregistered 2005 Porsche Carrera GT. The car has never been titled and has just 83 miles on the odometer. With one owner since new, the Carrera GT is likely to be as nice an example as you're likely to find outside of a museum. Porsche only built 340 of these machines back in 2005, and with a 610 horsepower V10 kicking at your spine, you can lap Santa's sleigh next year. Currently, the Carrera GT has a buy it now price of $457,325 with around six days left on the auction.
Not flashy enough for your tastes? Stroll on down to West Hollywood and you'll find a similarly untitled 2004 Ferrari Enzo up for grabs with a sticker of $1.8 million. Technically a Euro-spec car, the Enzo isn't legal to operate on US roads, but could be modified to satisfy Uncle Sam with a little effort. The seller calls this car the "last brand-new Enzo in existence" and with 175 miles on the clock, that may be a true statement. You can head over to eBay Motors for a closer look if you're feeling spendy.
