1958 Porsche 356 Cabroilet/convertible Hard Top 1600 Super on 2040-cars
Tucson, Arizona, United States
I've owned since 07, previous owned since 1972. Purchased here in Tucson from aged male. He had body, paint, and mechanical done here, see reciepts. I had to redo engine, yikes. Paint is 10 yrs old, still looks good, few chips & scratches. Good gaps on hood & trunk, doors not as good, see photos. Orig. paint on dash(black). All gauges orig, sending unit has broken wire inside. Speedo noisy, disconnected. tack works, signals work, lights work. Dated wheels 2/58, orig trans with good syncros & shifting. Trans has not been rebuilt from my perspective, but still good. Clutch operates as it should. Engine has been completely disasembled, finding good line bore, std. 10/10 on crank, balanced rods & pistons, valve job done. Runs nice & strong. I do believe the floors are orig, but I think longitudnals and jack points have been replaced, solid & usable. Yes, there is some bondo, strange closing panels. No rust has come thru after 10 years. Overall this is a good driver, not a show car, but mostly orig. All #'s match, but don't know about doors.
Folding top included see photo. I have most reciepts to go along, including certificate of originality. Please ask questions. See in person, just let me know. Serious buyers must convince me they are. God Bless, Alex |

2014 Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid
Tue, 09 Jul 2013Porsche's Performance Plug-in Preamble
By the end of this year, Porsche will be producing as many plug-in vehicles (two) as mainstream automakers such as Toyota, Chevrolet and Honda. Before the 2015 918 Spyder hybrid supercar goes on sale in the US, though, it will be warming its customers up to the idea of a plug-in model with the 2014 Panamera S E-Hybrid. A step up from the previous Panamera S Hybrid, the new plug-in Panamera adds a more powerful and advanced electric drive system that pledges to deliver the performance expected of a Porsche with the added benefit of improved fuel economy and reduced emissions.
Going on sale in November, the Panamera S E-Hybrid is aimed at customers also considering the upcoming plug-in version Mercedes-Benz S-Class, but the car's dimensions and performance could make it a competitor for Tesla Model S customers. We headed to Germany at Porsche's invitation to see how well it performs, as well as check out the full range of newly refreshed Panamera models, which now numbers nine offerings - although we're still waiting for a production version of the gorgeous Sport Turismo wagon concept.
Porsche reveals first Macan driving and manufacturing footage
Fri, 13 Dec 2013One of the more anticipated offerings of the upcoming year, Porsche's sporty baby Cayenne, the 2015 Macan, has already earned nods of approval from a number of Autoblog staffers. We named it one of the top five debuts at last month's LA Auto Show, citing its 400-horsepower turbocharged engine and other sporty bits as good reasons to get excited about Stuttgart's latest.
And while our first test may be many months away, we're keeping our ears to the ground for any information on Porsche's compact crossover. We're especially keen on stuff like this - our first look at the new model in motion and undergoing assembly at its Leipzig plant. Both are shorter videos, and while there's little of the glorious engine noise we've already been teased with, the videos do offer a great look at the handsome Macan on the road, as well as glimpse at Porsche's state-of-the-art manufacturing operations.
Scope out the videos below and let us know what you think.
Audi welcomes Porsche back to Le Mans like any sibling would
Fri, 06 Jun 2014Ah, sibling rivalry. It really is a beautiful thing. It's even more beautiful when said siblings are automakers with very, very well-known racing histories. That's how you get videos like this, which is Audi's way of welcoming Porsche back to the top flight of Le Mans racing.
Yes, Audi has taken its R18 E-Tron Quattro back onto public roads, wowing schoolboys and scaring farmers (who appear to be riding classic Porsche tractors), as it travels from Ingolstadt to Zuffenhausen, just to taunt its corporate frenemy.
Take a look below for a video to see just what that teasing looks like.
