1956 356 Speedster

Up for auction is one of the coolest Porsche 356 Speedster replicas on the market.  This car demands attention!  I’ve owned tons of classic cars and this one gets more looks, pictures, thumbs up, waves, ect than any car I have ever had.  It is an absolute blast to dive!

The 356 was originally built in the 90s by an aircraft engineer.  The car was very well built.  It has a very original look and feel to it.  In 2012 the car was given a professional restoration and  a complete drivetrain upgrade.  The paint was redone in a base coat / clear coat and looks great!  It was wet sanded and polished to a mirror like finish.  This is a well built car with nice fit and finish, the door and trunk open and close well, the top fits well, ect.

The interior has been redone in all black and looks great.  The seats and door panels were profrsionally refinished and have a very nice look and feel.  New German square weave carpet was installed.  The car has a nice sounding stereo.  Mesh headlight covers were added along with leather trunk hold down straps.  There is a small crack on the windshield.  It has working horn, tach, speedo, fuel gauge, wipers, temp gauge, all lights and blinkers.  A cigarette lighter was added to charge your phone.  A set of Crow Enterprize racing belts were added.

The car has all 3 tops, including the boot, a complete cockpit tonneau cover which opens on the drivers side.  A brand new black stayfast canvas top was installed and looks really nice.  The car comes with a set of removable side windows.

The smoothie wheels are powdercoated to match the car and the brand new Coker wide whitewall tires really set the car off.

This car doesn’t just look better than all the other speedster replicas, its also outperforms most as well.  No expense was spared on the motor.  It’s a full flowed 2175 with dual Webers, a full 911 fan and shroud conversion ($2000 option), billet valve covers, billet air breathers, steel braded lines, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, performance clutch, and a ceramic coated merged header and exhaust system.  This little car runs!  It sounds mean also. There is over $10000 invested in the drive train.

The underside of the car is extremely solid and looks nice!  It received new shocks, new bushings, a rear sway bar was added.  It has an adjustable front beam and the ride height can be changed fairly easily.

I have a clean and clear title for the car. The numbers on the VIN tag match the numbers on the title.

I have owned quite a few 356 replicas from every manufacture, along with some real steel bodied 356s, and this is by far my favorite.  This car runs and drives great, it needs nothing and is ready to enjoy.  Lots of money has been spent making this speedster look and run like it does.  This car is an absolute thrill to drive and own.  Hands down the most fun you can have and most attention you get for under $30k!

I have been selling on Ebay for 14 years. And have sold many classic cars and trucks with 100% positive feedback.   I am very picky with my cars. I know what I am looking at and know how to accurately describe them.  I have many happy buyers all around the world, and can provide references if needed.

Possible trades considered, email me with what you have.

I reserve the right to end this listing at any time.  If you’re a serious buyer, call me and make an offer.  This car is available for purchase today! I can be reached at 314-393-0565. Please read the entire listing before calling. .

Porsche Cayman, Boxster caught in GTS trim

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

A few months ago, we reported on some leaked information from an internal presentation for upcoming Porsche models. This included details about the Macan and the 911 Targa, which we now know to be true, but there was also talk about GTS versions of the Cayman and Boxster.
Well, it appears we're now getting our first look at these GTS models, as our spy photographers have just snapped a pair of Porsche prototypes out testing - one Cayman and one Boxster.
Right off the bat, we can see that both GTS-branded cars will get a slightly tweaked exterior with new fascias (bringing LED daytime running lights to the Cayman) and air diffusers at the rear. The true gem of these cars will be the added horsepower to the tune of 340 horsepower - a 15-hp bump. A manual transmission will likely be standard, as will Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM).

2013 Porsche 911 RSR makes official debut

Mon, 01 Apr 2013

Porsche is ready to go racing in 2013, showing off a new 911 RSR today that is scheduled to compete in several endurance events this year. Based on the current 991 911, the new RSR will compete in the 2013 season of the World Endurance Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It will not, however, make an appearance in a North American racing series this year.
The 2013 version of the racecar has increased in wheelbase by some four inches, features a new wishbone front suspension in place of the last-generation's McPherson strut setup and boasts a new, lightweight six-speed racing gearbox. The engine, meanwhile, is an "optimized" version of last year's car, a 460-horsepower 4.0-liter boxer six-cylinder. Extensive use of carbon fiber and polycarbonate windows help the RSR shed weight, and Porsche has also balanced the weight more evenly with a lower center of gravity.
Porsche has thoughtfully dedicated some space to celebrate the 911's 50th Anniversary, with the number 50 clearly visible in the top-down view of the RSR, as well as along the doors. Scroll down to read the full Porsche press release, below.

Porsche drivers escape this horrific VIR crash unscathed

Mon, 07 Oct 2013

There is no doubting the fact that it takes nerves of steel to be a racecar driver, but the same can also be said for motorsports photographers. Case in point: The American Le Mans Series Oak Tree Grand Prix at the Virginia International Raceway where two Porsche 911 racecars crash hard into the tire barrier, but the dedicated cameraman stays with the shot - diving away only at the last second just as the battered No. 31 car (shown above) comes to rest atop the tire barriers just feet from where he was standing.
The crash occurred when the two Porsches charged hard into a corner. Judging by the video, the white No. 48 car appears to not see the orange No. 31 and the two cars make contact, skidding off track hitting the tire barriers at a high rate of speed. Both drivers walked away from the frightening crash, but the video - posted below - shows just how bad things could have been. Hopefully the close call will serve as a lesson for the woman standing in the track marshal's post who has her back to the racing as the two cars barrel directly toward her.
