1953 Porsche 356 Pre A Coupe

According to Porsche, this car was originally Ivory. We have found evidence of original green interior. Confirmed by Porsche to be the correct color. The Michigan title shows P31331. Porsche tells us that that is the correct engine number. In the mid to late 60's this car received a new engine. The engine is still in the car and has no numbers stamped on it. The car was last moved under it's own power in the mid 70's, sitting outside until 2000. It ha since been put in the garage where you see it now.

This car shows very little damage. Only a small fender bender in the rear between the taillights. The rest of the car shows no impact damage anywhere. The red doors, deck lid, and seats are not original to this car. The original radio was taken out in the 70's and stored inside all these years. The 16" wheels are dated 1 of 53 on three of them, the fourth wheel we cannot see the date. What you see in these pictures is what comes with the car. If other parts are found as the garage is cleaned out we will try to include them.

2015 Porsche 911 GTS starts at $114,200*

Wed, 08 Oct 2014

Purists often criticize Porsche for creating products like the Cayenne, Panamera and recently launched Macan, saying they dilute the true sports car spirit of the brand. It's an argument we've heard before, and one we counter with two points. First: No they don't. And second: These are Porsche's volume superstars, and the money they rake in allows the company to create dozens of versions of its well-liked sports cars. Want proof? Have a look at the gallery above, where you'll see four new versions of the 911, all with GTS badges on their rumps. This means Porsche now offers 19 versions of the 911. Nineteen.
Porsche offered a GTS version of the 911 in its previous generation, and this new one seeks to slot somewhere between the standard car and the hardcore GT3. It's available in coupe and cabriolet forms, with either rear- or all-wheel drive, starting at $114,200, *not including $995 for destination. The GTS Cabriolet comes in at $126,100, while models equipped with AWD will set you back $120,900 or $132,800 for the coupe or convertible, respectively.
All GTS models get the 430-horsepower version of the Carrera S' 3.8-liter flat-six with the Powerkit, which also includes the Sport Chrono package and the sport exhaust. If equipped with the PDK dual-clutch transmission, the 911 GTS will hit 60 miles per hour in just 3.8 seconds (or four seconds flat, if you've got the Cabriolet) - one tenth of a second quicker than the normal Carrera S. The car's top speed varies, depending on trim or transmission, but Porsche says the car will hit anywhere from 187 to 190 mph, flat out.

Motor Trend holds World's Greatest Drag Race for the third time

Fri, 23 Aug 2013

As part of Motor Trend's Best Driver's Car competition, the buff book has held its third iteration of the World's Greatest Drag Race. With an airfield and a dozen of the world's finest performance cars at its disposal (oh, and a helicopter), the MT team did what any good group of enthusiasts would do, and tried to figure what car could cover a quarter mile the quickest. World's greatest drag race, indeed.
The contestants, as MT points out, cover a huge variety of engine types, drivelines, aspiration types and body styles, making for a genuinely varied and interesting field of competitors. Here's the full list of cars taking part.

'Ring Queen Sabine Schmitz battles Ron Simons in Porsche vs Ferrari scrap

Tue, 04 Jun 2013

We hope you have seven minutes to kill. RSR Nürburgring recently took the time to pit Sabine Schmitz and her slightly modified Porsche 911 GT3 RS against Ron Simons and his Ferrari 458 Italia in a sparring match around the infamous Green Hell. The clip begins with the two drivers engaging in a smidgeon of smack talk before the two get down to the business of beating each other's doors off around one of the most challenging courses in the world. Simons calls his car superior to Schmitz's 911, while Schmitz says she's up against nothing more than a Fiat driven by an old Dutch man.
Don't hold any punches, you two.
We won't spoil the finale for you, but we will say the tango is worth watching. At the end, the loser calls for a rematch. We can't wait to see that throwdown. Check out the clip below for yourself.
