 Purchased and driven in California

This is a nice used accident free car, runs reliably and all Vibes have the Toyota Matrix factory engine - always adult driven.  A great back to school car that gets 30+ miles to the gallon. The overall condition for the car is very nice and would make a perfect commuter or first car. It has a reliable Toyota engine and was made in cooperation of Toyota and GM - the car is similar to the Toyota Matrix.  It has never been in an accident and the interior is like new, no tears.  The windows are manual. The seats fold down. It has factory alloy wheels and near new expensive 4 matching Michelin Primacy MXM 4, with 3/8" tread tires purchased at America's Tire Company. It has carpet factory mats front and rear, rear factory tinted windows, factory roof rack, tilt steering wheel and roof mounted antenna. The car was driven to Texas this past month. so all but 1500 miles were driven in California - no rust. The car is only being advertised on Ebay and although a local person may purchase the car, but this auction is not subject to a prior sale.  I don't want to disappoint bidders only to learn the car has been sold in another ad locally. You may be able to buy a similar car for less, but if you are looking for a clean car with nearly new top of the line tires, this the one for you.  If you have other questions, please email me through Ebay.  U.S. Cash or U.S. Cashier's check only on this transaction.  California title is 100% clear and in hand. If you want to ship the car, buyer must arrange shipper and prepay the purchase price.  The car is located in North Dallas, TX and may be viewed locally.

This Hoonigan mechanic's twin-turbo Trans Am is wonderful

Thu, Mar 24 2016

What do you drive when you work on rally machines for a living? Probably a Subaru WRX, and that's what Gregg Hamilton had for a while until working on his car felt too much like his day job. So when he moved from New Zealand to the US to work for Ken Block (with a few stops along the way) he bought something entirely different. This is Gregg's 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. It's a throwback to another time, but it's anything but stock. It has that magic combination of a big V8 with a manual transmission and rear drive, just like the tin-top racers Gregg watched in his Kiwi youth. He bought it sight unseen from its previous owner in Alabama, and has been tinkering with it ever since. There's something about the flared wheel arches and the classic Firebird gold-striped black livery that has us smitten. Scope out the six-minute clip above from Petrolicious and see if you don't fall for Gregg's Pontiac as well.

GM expands ignition switch recall to over 1.3 million cars amid climbing death toll

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

588,000 Saturn Sky, Saturn Ion, Pontiac Solstice and Chevy HHR models join the 778,000 cars already being recalled.
General Motors has announced a massive expansion of a 778,000-unit recall we told you about two weeks ago, doubling not only the total number of cars affected but expanding the recall beyond Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 models previously mentioned. The recall originally centered around ignition switches that could slip out of the "run" position if jostled or if any weight was applied to the key in the cylinder.

AMC Trans Am Javelin SST, an ultra-rare underdog, is up for auction

Sat, Sep 9 2023

Among the rarest of the American muscle cars that went racing in the early Seventies — cars including the Camaro Z/28 and the Boss 302 Mustang — the 1970 AMC Trans Am Javelin SST may be the most hard to find, and among the most valuable. Only 100 units of this unique Javelin were produced, and one of them is up for auction at the Mecum event in Dallas on September 20. The Trans Am Javelin was fashioned in a patriotic livery of tricolor paint — red, white and blue — and arrived after the American Motors Corporation had decided in 1968 to compete in the Trans Am racing series against Ford and General Motors. The company's chief driver, Mark Donohue, would dominate the 1971 season, taking seven wins in his Javelin AMX and that yearÂ’s SCCA Trans-Am Championship. AMC took the trophy with 82 points, well ahead of Ford's 61, Chevrolet's 17 and Pontiac's paltry 7. The example listed for auction came equipped with a 390-cubic-inch V-8 engine with 325 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 420 pound-feet of torque, power steering and brakes, dual exhaust, BorgWarner four-speed manual transmission and Hurst competition shifter. Its “ram induction system” sealed a chamber around the air filter so that cool air from the functional hood scoop would be funneled into the intake. This JavÂ’s factory price was $3,995 — a mere $32,000 or so in today's money, though it was expensive by the standards of the time. The 100 Trans Ams were among 19,714 Javelin units built in 1970, so they started out rare, and today the surviving examples are highly collectible, if and when they come up for sale.
