Up for sale is a 1991 Trans AM GTA with only 91,2xx miles on it.  There were only about 2,900 made in 91'.  This is has the bright red exterior paint, it will need repainted.  Very minimal surface rust.  Front nose piece could use some attention on the underside.  The engine runs strong and uses no oil.  It has an automatic transmission with no slippage.  Car runs strong.  It has a brand new 2.5" exhaust going into a Flowmaster 80 Series muffler, it is loud and sounds like a classic muscle car.  The tires have at least 75 to 85% tread left on them.  The car has new plugs, wires, rotor and cap, O2 sensor, fuel injectors, fuel filter, air filter and hood struts.  This is a great every day driver, or with a little bit of fixing, it would make an excellent show car.  It will need new carpet at some point and some attention to the fabric on the door panels.  The seats are in excellent condition with no stains or tears.  The lumbar support still works!!  The black cloth interior was VERY RARE. About only 122 were made this year with this option.  The vehicle is equipped with the 7 band equalizer radio, but a new power antenna assembly will be needed.  I don't want to get rid of this vehicle, but I have too many projects and a wedding on the way.  I can send more pictures if interested.  I also have a video clip of the exhaust.  Any and all offers/ trades will be considered.

Wanted: 1967 Pontiac GTO for a special Father's Day

Thu, 07 Jun 2012

Jim Sharp of Elkhorn, Wisconsin needs a red 1967 Pontiac GTO to make his dad's Father's Day, possibly his last one, something extra special.
Back in the '60s, Jim's dad, Ken, drove a cherry red 1967 GTO to California for a job. He met a girl, got married and decided his wife's 1965 Ford Mustang was more fuel efficient than the Goat and the GTO was sold. As the story almost always goes, Ken has had seller's regret ever since.
Jim always meant to find a 1967 GTO and, with his dad's help, restore it. But life got in the way, time slipped by and Ken was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given about three months to live.

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable

Fri, 21 Sep 2012

General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.

STUDY: Ford owns brand loyalty in 2009; Scorned Saturn, Pontiac buyers will look outside of GM

Fri, 16 Oct 2009

Ford buyers appear to love their cars more than customers of any other automotive brand, returning back to the American automaker when it comes time to purchase their next vehicle. According to a study by Experian Automotive, six of the top 10 vehicles for customer brand loyalty wear badges from the Blue Oval. That includes the Ford Fusion (62.4 percent), Ford Edge (57.9 percent), Ford Five Hundred/Taurus (56 percent), Ford Freestyle (51.9 percent), Ford Escape (49.4 percent) and the Ford Focus (47.57 percent).
Other vehicles making up the top 10 include the Toyota Prius (52 percent), Chevy Impala (51.7 percent), Toyota Camry (47.8 percent) and Toyota Corolla (47.56 percent). This brings up an interesting question: With the closing of automotive brands like Saturn and Pontiac, where are those buyers to turn for their next automotive purchase?
Apparently, not back to General Motors. According to Experian, Pontiac owners are most likely to look to the Ford lineup for their next car or truck and Saturn shoppers will switch to Toyota or Honda - not particularly surprising given that Saturn was meant to compete with import brands. Experian predicts that GM's overall market share will fall from 20 percent to about 17.5 percent, with most of the slack being picked up by Ford, Honda and Toyota.
