Here is a 1965 Tempest Custom convertible that has only 33,000 miles on it and was given a complete restoration, Frame off, everything is new or rebuilt, Original Mayfair Maize with Gold /brown interior,The interior is in amazing condition, New carpet and Seat covers made the interior look so Crisp!!New weatherstrip and sill plates, everything works, Have PHS doc's and was as you see it but with full hubcaps which come with the car, I preferred the dog dish caps and painted wheel look This car runs and drives like a new one!! I would drive it anywhere. Has optional custom seat belts, reverse lamps and power steering.  During the restoration nothing was left untouched. The car was in very low mileage original condition so all the original trim and moldings are it awesome shape and were polished nicely. The paint is cut and buffed to a very nice finish, The bottom of the car was completely stripped and finished also, After body was blasted any repairs needed were professionally done and finished, Minimal repair was needed on the floor pan and behind rear tire on lower quarters, The frame was also blasted and refinished and has no visible rust anywhere. All new suspension , brake system fuel system ,The original 326 was set aside and a Real!! 1967 GTO "WS" 360Hp engine It is dated L-15-66 and was completely overhauled with all new internals and a "068" Camshaft. and "670" heads It is mated to the original 2 speed powerglide transmission.  This car runs incredibly well!! Plus it will cruise down the highway with ease. The 326 is available with the car , The overall Quality of the car is what I want to empathize!! It is NICE!!, Drives like a million dollars!! It has the 33k mile feel and look, The top is all new as is the liner and all pads, Seals, the convertible linkage and frame looks like new!!  I try to show some detail photos like the door jambs so you can see the level of quality, The trunk is restored to new condition and has boot for top and the cars original spare with jack and new mat. Still as foam interior quarter panel backers on the long Tempest emblems visible on each side, Dash cluster and gauges, radio, all knobs, all look like NEW!! Please come look in person, No disappointments. Call with any questions. You can own car for much less than the restoration cost!! 616-835-0236

BMX rider flips for wrecked Detroit football stadium

Fri, Jun 12 2015

Detroit is littered with derelict ruins. Abandoned automotive assembly plants, sure – but also former sports venues, like Tiger Stadium in Corktown, Roesink Stadium in Hamtramck, and the Silverdome in Pontiac. BMX rider Tyler Fernengel remembers going to see the Lions and Pistons play at the Silverdome in his youth, and competed there in Supercross as a boy. The stadium hasn't been used in years, but now, with his career just picking up, Tyler has returned to film this video – riding through its halls, jumping its stairwells and flipping over its grandstands and field. It's a fitting tribute to a once-great venue of suburban Michigan. Check out the footage in this latest clip from Red Bull. GM reintroduces Tripower name in the worst way possible

Wed, Aug 1 2018

The story of General Motors' use of the Tripower moniker begins way back in 1957, when Semon E. "Bunkie" Knudsen, then General Manager of GM's Pontiac division, directed his engineers to inject more performance into his brand's line of V8-powered automobiles. Fuel injection was an option, but hot rodders flocked instead to Tri-Power (marketed way back when with a hyphen), which grafted a trio of two-barrel Rochester carburetors onto a single intake manifold. A legend was born. And that legend was born of performance. At idle and when full power wasn't required, Pontiac's Tri-Power system used just the middle carburetor, which helped make the setup easier to tune. Depending on the year and model, either a vacuum system or a mechanical linkage opened up the two outer carbs, thereby switching from two barrels to six, and allowing the engine to take in more fuel and air. And it was an easy marketing win – six barrels is better than four barrels, right? Because performance! So, when news filtered in that GM has resurrected the Tripower name, those of us who grew up attending classic car shows and wrenching on old Pontiacs did a double-take. And then we all collectively sighed. Turns out that today's Tripower refers to a trio of fuel-saving measures that include cylinder deactivation, active thermal management, and intake valve lift control, according to Automotive News. And, at least for now, it applies to GM's line of fullsize trucks powered by a 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. We're all for saving fuel whenever possible. And we have zero say in how any automaker chooses to market its products and technologies. But, we'll offer our two cents anyway: Relaunching a storied name from the past is fine. Relaunching a storied name from the past while completely overlooking the reasons the name got famous in the first place is only going to irritate the people who remember the name in the first place. Couldn't they just call this new technology package something else? Looking back at Oprah's free-car giveaway 10 years later

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

Oprah kicked off her 19th season in dramatic fashion by giving all 276 members of the studio audience a free car.
Molly Vielweber's Pontiac G6 appears unremarkable at first glance. It wears forest green paint, rolls on five-spoke aluminum wheels, and it has a sizeable scrape in the driver's side door, the scar of a decade's worth of hard use. You wouldn't notice it parked at a big box store or cruising on the highway. Pontiac made hundreds of thousands of G6s in the 2000s, and a lot are still on the road. It's unremarkable in every way except for the front license plate, which reads, "Oprah 6."
