2004 Pontiac Sunfire Se Coupe 2-door 2.2l, Auto, 120k Miles, Ac, Pw, New Brakes on 2040-cars
Irvine, California, United States
Hi we are selling our 2004 Pontiac Sunfire SE, it is a 4 cylinder, pretty zippy but an excellent gas saver, this was the top of the line model back in 2004, this car has 120K miles on it but runs as if it had only 20K, you will not find anything wrong with it mechanically, and it has a smooth transmission as well, it was very well taken care of by us and the previous owner, this car was the previous owner's baby, the car drives fantastic and does not need anything at all, it has not been in any accidents but the body has a few dents in it due to someone kicking the side of the car in a parking lot, and the 2 plastic door covers are off the car, both have 2 broken clips which I'm told can be fixed very easily, I have saved all the clips and stuff, please make sure you look at all the pictures below to see the dents on the drivers side, if you can fix the dents or they dont bother you, you will have an excellent car which has no mechanical issues, we drove it with the dents for the last 2 years and it has not bothered us. We are in Irvine CA and you must come see the car before bidding, NO SHIPPING, we dont drive the car very much anymore as we bought another, I recently put 4 brand new tires, new front brake pads, new rotors, and flushed the brake fluid with synthetic fluid, also did the 4 wheel alignment so the car drives perfectly straight. And its had its oil change, and we just did a complete inspection and the car does not need anything at all, the air filter was not too bad, but I have bought a new one which will be put on it today, you really wont have any problems with this car for a long time, just do the scheduled oil change and stuff, we've had this car for 3 years and other than scheduled maintenance the only thing we had to do was to replace the drivers side power window motor because it was stopping and not going up and down as fast as it should. Also I put on a $40 set of Neofoam windshield wipers on this car a few months ago, they curve to the windshield and work excellent and are designed to last a few years in the sun. This car is an SE model and has the nice GM alloy wheels, here are its other features; Automatic 4-Cyl, 2.2 Liter Air Conditioning, (Works great) Power Windows, (we Recently put on a new drivers side power window motor) Power Door Locks Cruise Control Power Steering Tilt Wheel AM/FM Stereo CD (Single Disc) Premium Sound Dual Air Bags Rear Spoiler Alloy Wheels Premium Wheels We have the clear title in hand and also have listed the car locally so I reserve the right to remove this listing if it sells, so come see it soon, it is a very reliable car which feels very nice to drive and saves a lot of money on gas, we have to sell it now, so please call us soon at 949-385-3008. |

GM Design shows what could have been and what might be
Thu, May 27 2021We periodically like to check in with GM Design's Instagram account to see what they're cooking up. Even better is when we catch a glimpse of an alternate history of what legendary designers from The General's past were thinking, though those ideas may not have made it into production. This week, for example, the account posted some illustrations from George Camp, whose career at GM spanned nearly four decades, from 1963 to 2001. One of the renderings is of what appears to be a 1971-72 Pontiac GTO Judge, but with two headlights instead of the production unit's quad beams. The rear departs from the canonical version most dramatically, with a massive integrated wing. Other bits that didn't make the production cut include large side vents, a gill-like side marker and rectangular intakes below the headlights that wouldn't be out of place on a modern design today. Amazingly, from what we can make out of the date, it appears that the drawing was done sometime in 1965, which makes it quite prescient.      View this post on Instagram            A post shared by GM Design (@generalmotorsdesign) There's also a very aerodynamic interpretation of a Corvette ZR-1. To our eyes it splits the difference between the 1986 Corvette Indy concept and a fourth-generation F-body Pontiac Firebird, so perhaps parts of Camp's work on this sketch did make it into physical form. There's also a radical sports car concept from May 1970 that resembles the Mazda RX-500 concept from the same year, a Syd Mead-looking Cadillac coupe, and an Oldsmobile with a cool take on the company's trademark waterfall grille and elements of the Colonnade Cutlass at the rear. Other recent posts include a FJ Cruiser-like off-road EV, a sleek coupe with the Chevy corporate grille, and a rendering of a Silverado-esque pickup that looks far better than the current production version.      View this post on Instagram            A post shared by GM Design (@generalmotorsdesign) It's pretty easy to lose hours in the account, but it's always fascinating to see GM's visions of what could have been and what might be. This 1927 Oakland is a minimalist hot rod
Fri, 21 Feb 2014There are hundreds of American automakers that sprung up during the dawn of the automotive era, only to fold into obscurity or get gobbled up by what would eventually become the Big Four (yes, we're counting AMC here). Oakland is one such company, which was the forbearer for General Motors' Pontiac division. Sold until 1931, you simply don't see Oakland-badged cars anymore. Unless, that is, you know Brian Bent.
Bent drives a 1927 Oakland that still rides on wooden wheels. Its original wooden wheels, from the sound of it. That makes this anachronist and his Oakland the perfect subject for a Petrolicious video. Like many of the cars highlighted by Petrolicious, this old Oakland has had some work done to it, featuring a Pontiac flathead engine that's been pushed forward and a clutch pack built by Bent.
Take a look below for a closer look at this rare and fascinating Oakland.
GM's got 107 problems and NHTSA's No. 1
Thu, Mar 6 2014General Motors' problems with its recall of roughly 1.6-million vehicles continue to mount. Now that it has emerged that GM knew about the problem since at least 2004 but waited to recall vehicles until February 2014, regulators at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have begun a much deeper investigation. NHTSA has sent a 27-page survey to GM that includes 107 questions about the timeline of what led up to the recall, and it has until April 3 to reply. This isn't a simple, multiple-choice test. Automotive News believes that hundreds of pages could be required to answer some of the queries. NHTSA says that it is still investigating GM's response to the recall. "We are a data-driven organization, and we will take whatever action is appropriate based on where our findings lead us," said NHTSA in a statement on its website. If found liable, the automaker could face a fine as high as $35 million and even possible criminal charges, according to Bloomberg. NHTSA's questions include a detailed explanation of GM's examination process; how it will improve the process; why a planned redesign of the cars' key in 2005 wasn't implemented; and specific data on each complaint it received. According to Bloomberg, NHTSA also has records that show the company had a meeting with regulators to discuss the airbag failure in a Chevrolet Cobalt in 2007. New GM CEO Mary Barra has also hired an outside law firm to conduct an independent investigation about what happened. It will include questioning company employees who were involved with the process from the start. The recall stems from faulty ignition switches that shut off the car while driving, and if it occurs the airbags deactivate. Thirteen deaths and 23 crashes have been caused by the problem, according to Bloomberg. If you would like to peruse NHTSA's entire questionnaire for GM, it can be viewed here.
