Clean 2dr Pillard Coupe on 2040-cars
Fayetteville, North Carolina, United States
This classic Pontiac is a running driving project, it has the original 350 small block Pontiac motor in it backed by a 3 speed manual transmission. Originally the shifter was on the steering column in the 1970's it was moved to the floor. It shifts great and it runs great. The previous owner pulled a camper with the car and the hitch is still on it. You can tell the car was jack knifed once (minor) the damage was filled on the rear drivers side quarter. (Very small area) ONLY BONDO IN THE ENTIRE VEHICLE. The rear bumper wasn't replaced and is still tweaked to this day. The car is unrestored and will need restored. New dual exhaust, New tires. The brakes need attention but it does stop, I drive it once a week to work. I have every document that came with the car when purchased in 1971, original owners manual, original build sheet ( I found it in the passenger side door panel), and purchase receipt (dealer copy) among other documents. Included is a really cool hand typed letter thanking original owner for his purchase. Also included is the protector plate warranty card. There is minimal rust on the car, passenger side front floor pan has been replaced in the past (clean repair, looks to be professional) drivers side has a small hole in it (pictured) The trunk pan is completely solid. The car was purchased at Admiral Pontiac in MO, it still has the original dealer tag on the trunk lid. The car spent its life in NC. I spoke with the original owner and know the full history on it. Unmolested solid original car it is unchanged since purchase, no modifications other than the shifter, still running on points and two barrel carb. Come by and check it out if your local. 910-336-3271 if you have absolutely any questions what so ever.
I still have the contact info of the original owner that will go with the sale of this car. |

General Motors Recalls Nearly 780,000 Cars To Fix Deadly Problem
Thu, Feb 13 2014General Motors is recalling nearly 780,000 compact cars in North America because the engines can shut down unexpectedly and cause crashes. The company says six people have been killed in crashes related to the problem. The recall affects Chevrolet Cobalts and Pontiac G5s from the 2005 through 2007 model years. U.S. safety regulators say the weight of the key ring and rough roads can move the ignition switch out of the run position, cutting the engine and electricity. If that happens, air bags may not work. GM says there have been 22 crashes from the problem. All happened at high speeds. Dealers will replace the ignition switch for free. GM says owners should remove nonessential items from key rings until the problem is fixed. Junkyard Gem: 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix Daytona 500 Edition
Tue, Aug 29 2017The W Platform proved to be extremely long-lived and versatile for General Motors, remaining in production from 1988 all the way through 2016. You had your Impalas and your Regals and your Cutlass Supremes, and of course the 1988-2008 Pontiac Grand Prix was a W-body. For the 2000 model year, Pontiac made the racy-looking Daytona 500 Edition Grand Prix, an example of which I just found in a Northern California self-service wrecking yard. 2,000 of these cars were made, presumably because it was the year 2000, and each one sports plenty of cool-looking Daytona 500 graphics. Perhaps some Regal owner will buy these seats and swap them. This is the second junked Daytona 500 Grand Prix I have seen recently, after this one in Colorado. The Daytona 500 was about the same as the GTP version, with Eaton-supercharged 3800 engine making a respectable 240 horsepower. Disappointingly, this car has an automatic transmission. It never saw 150,000 miles, unlike most 21st-century W-bodies I see in wrecking yards. Featured Gallery Junked 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix Daytona 500 Edition View 21 Photos Auto News Pontiac Sedan
Junkyard Gem: 1987 Pontiac Safari Station Wagon
Tue, Aug 9 2016During the 1960s and 1970s, station wagons based on full-sized Detroit sedans were the default family haulers, and many of those Kingswood Estates and Country Squires and Ambassadors came with unapologetically phony woodgrain-printed exterior paneling and trim. By the late 1980s, however, few were snapping up such wagons, making this '87 Safari that I spotted in a Denver yard an interesting find. Power for this wagon came from a 307-cubic-inch Oldsmobile V8 making 140 horsepower. General Motors used this engine in Buicks, Oldsmobiles, Chevrolets, Pontiacs, and Cadillacs, finally discontinuing production for the 1990 model year. Was the "wood" convincing, even when new? Of course not, but it was a cherished American tradition. Related Video: Featured Gallery 1987 Pontiac Safari station wagon in Colorado junkyard View 18 Photos Auto News Pontiac station wagon
