I am selling this car for my grandpa, he is the original owner and bought this car off the dealership floor in1971. He has the the original title, original license plates, documentation and also it comes with original and very desired (and rare) 455 big block and automatic transmission, also have the cool original dual snorkel too. The interior is very decent for being 40 years old, just a couple tears in the drivers seat other than that its pretty nice. All the glass and chrome is excellent. Front and back bumpers are both in good condition. Bucket seats with floor shifter. Factory A/C car. The car has not been started in a couple years. This is definitely a very nice Lemans you can't find one with a 455, let alone the original engine that came with the car. Needs some fender work and two lower quarters (not the whole panel) and replaced. This is a clear title car, it has never been wrecked. It's an awesome car and lot of car for 5k. Another Burt Reynolds Trans Am is up for auction
Wed, Jan 18 2017Fans of Smokey and the Bandit, your car has arrived. This Saturday, January 21, Barrett-Jackson will auction a 1977 Pontiac Trans Am clone that, while not originally in the movie, was owned and signed by the Bandit himself, Burt Reynolds. Not only that, but it packs many modifications that should make this Pontiac drive the way we all imagined it did. This is a Trans Am clone, not an original. The car was built by Nebraska company Restore A Muscle Car, and started life as a lowly Firebird Formula. However, the company brought it up to Trans Am grade and beyond. Under the hood is a fuel-injected 8.2-liter V8 from Butler Performance that Restore A Muscle Car says produces 600 horsepower. Coupled to the big V8 is a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. There's even Hurst line-lock on-board, so this Trans Am should be perfect for on-demand burnouts. The car also comes with QA1 coil-over suspension, so it should corner better than the original, too. The outside looks roughly like a stock Trans Am, but it now has 18-inch wheels styled after those from the movie car, and the shaker scoop says "8.2" on each side. View 5 Photos In 2014, a 1977 Trans Am owned by Reynolds sold for a whopping $450,000. That car wasn't an actual movie car either, and lacked the modifications of this one. However, it was used as a promotional car and was given to Reynolds, so it did have some history with the film. This upgraded car is listed in the Barrett-Jackson catalog as "no reserve," so it's going home with a new owner on Saturday, regardless of price. Related Video:

Abandoned automotive assembly plants, sure – but also former sports venues, like Tiger Stadium in Corktown, Roesink Stadium in Hamtramck, and the Silverdome in Pontiac. BMX rider Tyler Fernengel remembers going to see the Lions and Pistons play at the Silverdome in his youth, and competed there in Supercross as a boy. The stadium hasn't been used in years, but now, with his career just picking up, Tyler has returned to film this video – riding through its halls, jumping its stairwells and flipping over its grandstands and field. Lutz says GM was working on 5th-gen Pontiac GTO
Thu, 08 Aug 2013Bob Lutz was one of the forces behind bringing the Holden Monaro to the United States, as the ill-fated Pontiac GTO in 2004. And while that car received critical acclaim, it was a sales disappointment. Now, Road & Track is reporting that our suspicions were correct - Pontiac was working on a two-door, G8-based coupe before it was shuttered.
In that R&T article, which is no longer available online, Lutz explained that the new GTO would solve many of the issues found in the original. Car Advice speculates that the new model would have look like a rebadged version of the Holden Coupe 60 Concept from 2008, a conclusion we also came to.
That car would have been a big departure from the 2004 to 2006 GTO. It has an extremely long hood and short rear deck, with an almost fastback roofline and a wide greenhouse with a tall beltline. The wheel arches were very pronounced, and the chin and rocker panel splitters gave it a race-ready look. Would it have been enough to make the GTO work in the US? We think it might of, but it looks like we'll never know.
