Relist unfortunately my buyer had an accident on his way to pick this up today So here's a second chance to own a cool classic. Reserve Lowered. Up for auction is this 1975 Pontiac Grand Prix with just over 72000 original miles. This has been owned and driven by the same lady since new, up until I purchased it a few months ago.
This car never had a vinyl roof, so the top is rock solid, the trunk pan and floor pans are solid as well. Car is very straight does have a few parking lot dings, but nothing major, a small amount of rust on the rear tire wells, see pics, and deck lid has a small spot in the corner. Powered by it's original 400 4 barrel engine backed by a 400 turbo transmission, factory 15'' Pontiac rally wheels, power bucket seats, full console, cruise control, tilt steering, air conditioning , disc brakes, power windows and door locks. Also has it's original owners manual. Car has never received a repaint, So there is no hidden bondo, It was solid black with red pin striping. The interior is originally red, the previous owners hair brained son started dying the interior black. I decided to leave it as is, in case someone wanted it done in its original color scheme. Glass is all good, Car will need upholstery work, paint, a good tune up, tires ( the current set is dry cracking) Everything on this car still works, you can drive it while you restore it or you can restore it right and then drive it. The exhaust does rattle a little, I would recommend having it dueled out . Driver side window is off track also has a small exhaust manifold leak. Also has a brand new holley 4 barrel installed, has a new power steering pump still in the box and an extra solid deck lid. There is no title, As Georgia is a non title pre 1986 State. However you will receive a legal state of Georgia bill of sale along with the cars current registration which you will be able to use to obtain proper registration in your state. There is a low, fair reserve, this is a car you don't see very often anymore. Please ask all questions prior to bidding. Full payment is due within 7 days of auction end, afterwards you have up to 30 days for transport. Thanks and have fun bidding |

General Lee takes on Bandit T/A in classic Hollywood car showdown [w/poll]
Fri, 26 Aug 2011You don't have to be born in the 1960s or 1970s to be able to recognize the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard and the Pontiac Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit. These old school four-wheeled stars seem to transcend demographics thanks to the miles of film that show the orange 1969 Dodge Charger and the jet-black 1977 Pontiac Trans Am performing seemingly impossible stunts.
The folks at Hot Rod magazine are obviously hip to this fact, and they put together a fun video in tribute of the instantly recognizable duo. Hit the jump to watch on as Sam Young and James Smith replace Bo Duke and The Bandit for a bit of dirt-road shenanigans in a pair of otherwise well cared for classics. We're not so sure we'd call it the best chase scene ever, but it sure looks like a lot of fun.
More importantly, which of these two cars would you rather own? Have your say in our poll below.
This GTO-El Camino mashup is the muscle truck of our dreams
Fri, Aug 31 2018There were a hell of a lot of great muscle cars in the mid-1960s, from the baroque Dodges and Plymouths of the earlier part of the decade to the wild big boys like the Boss 429 and Olds 442 W30. Right in the middle of the decade, two of the most iconic of the bunch emerged — the Pontiac GTO and second-generation Chevy El Camino. And this one is a 1964 Chevy El Camino with the heart and face of its GTO cousin, and dubbed the El Chieftain GTO. It's currently for sale at RM Sotheby's Auburn auction, with no reserve status or estimate listed. This looks like a product that Pontiac could have sold at the time — its builder, Ron Lindeman, did an excellent job making it look like a factory product, right down to the taillight strakes inspired by the GTO. It's powered by a 389 — a Pontiac motor that was actually found in period GTOs, but sporting a single four-barrel instead of the sexy Tri-Power setup. It is, however, equipped with a Hurst four-speed manual and the grille badge to prove it to bystanders. Even the interior is made up to look like a GTO. We wish there was more of a description of the build in the listing, but if you love it, do us one better and buy the thing and invite us to poke around it. We are very much in love with this muscle-truck mashup. Burt Reynolds' personal 1977 Trans-Am from Smokey And The Bandit for sale
Fri, Dec 5 2014Smokey and the Bandit is one of those quintessential 1970s car movies with insane premises but tons of fun. After all, the basic plot of the film is about distracting the police to transport cases of Coors beer cross country. While Burt Reynolds receives top billing, the real star is definitely his black Pontiac Trans-Am. Now, there's a chance to posses one of these muscle machines actually owned by Reynolds, and it's already proving quite popular. The car is a '77 Trans-Am with the famous, gold screaming chicken proudly on the hood. However, while this is a piece of Reynolds memorabilia, it's not really part of cinematic history. According to the listing, this example was used as a promotional vehicle and then given to Reynolds with a title showing him as a previous owner for proof. Still, there's 400-cubic-inch (6.55-liter) V8 under the hood with a 4-barrel carburetor and an automatic transmission. A plaque inside the driver's door proclaims the car as a "1977 Pontiac Trans Am Owned By Burt Reynolds," and there's a Bandit logo on the door. This is just one lot of Julien Auction's sale of Reynolds memorabilia on December 11 and 12 at The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV. Bidding is already running online, and the Trans-Am is up to $130,000, as of this writing. For the true Reynolds fanatic, the auction also lists the motorized stagecoach from his wedding to Loni Anderson. It rides built on an International Harvester Scout frame with an interior reportedly from Dolly Parton.
