IT HAS A 400 CU. IN., 4BBL, DUAL EXHAUST, AUTO TRANSMISSION, SPEEDO SHOWS 75K MILES, CAR HAS ORIGINAL INTERIOR AND IT IS NICE. WHEN RESTORED THE CAR RECEIVED NEW PAINT, BRAKES, SHOCKS, EXHAUST, LOWER A-FRAMES, 4 COIL SPRINGS, BELTS, HOSES AND ENGINE TUNE-UP. I HAVE HAD THE CAR APPROXIMATELY 3 YEARS AND HAVE REPLACED BATTERY CABLES, NEW CONVERTIBLE TOP AND LAST YEAR 4 NEW TIRES. ALSO HAD TRANSMISSION RESEALED AND NEW FLUID AND FILTER. I TOOK THIS CAR TO ONE CAR SHOW AND WON A PLAQUE. THE CAR RUNS, RIDES AND DRIVES VERY NICE. A COUPLE OF THINGS THAT NEED ATTENTION IS POWER DRIVER SEAT: SWITCH AND MOTOR WORKS BUT DOESN'T MOVE THE SEAT, ALSO HIDE AWAYS DO NOT OPEN WHEN THE HEAD LIGHTS ARE TURNED .ON. I CAN HEAR A VAC LEAK UNDER DASH BUT HAVE NOT CHECKED IT OUT.

Wanted: 1967 Pontiac GTO for a special Father's Day
Thu, 07 Jun 2012Jim Sharp of Elkhorn, Wisconsin needs a red 1967 Pontiac GTO to make his dad's Father's Day, possibly his last one, something extra special.
Back in the '60s, Jim's dad, Ken, drove a cherry red 1967 GTO to California for a job. He met a girl, got married and decided his wife's 1965 Ford Mustang was more fuel efficient than the Goat and the GTO was sold. As the story almost always goes, Ken has had seller's regret ever since.
Jim always meant to find a 1967 GTO and, with his dad's help, restore it. But life got in the way, time slipped by and Ken was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given about three months to live.
eBay Find of the Day: 1967 Pontiac GTO Monkeemobile
Sun, 29 Apr 2012Say what you will about The Monkees, but the guys in the band had great taste in automobiles. Take the Monkeemobile, for example. Built off a 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible, the custom featured genuinely interesting bodywork and some wild engine bolt-ons. If you're a fan of 1960s pop and yearn to relive the genre's glory days, eBay Motors may have what you need. A recreation of the 1967 Monkeemobile has showed up for auction. This particular replica was built by Dakota County Customs using an four-speed GTO, just like the original.
Built for the band's 45th anniversary and the final Monkees tour last year, this Monkeemobile is faithful down to every last detail. Unfortunately, the trumpet exhaust poking out of the front fender wells and the massive gold-flake blower are for show only. Seems fitting.
If you like what you see, this machine is up for bid in Richfield, Minnesota with two days left on the auctions. So far, bidding as whipped up to $60,000 with the reserve not met. Head over to eBay Motors to have a look.
This 1927 Oakland is a minimalist hot rod
Fri, 21 Feb 2014There are hundreds of American automakers that sprung up during the dawn of the automotive era, only to fold into obscurity or get gobbled up by what would eventually become the Big Four (yes, we're counting AMC here). Oakland is one such company, which was the forbearer for General Motors' Pontiac division. Sold until 1931, you simply don't see Oakland-badged cars anymore. Unless, that is, you know Brian Bent.
Bent drives a 1927 Oakland that still rides on wooden wheels. Its original wooden wheels, from the sound of it. That makes this anachronist and his Oakland the perfect subject for a Petrolicious video. Like many of the cars highlighted by Petrolicious, this old Oakland has had some work done to it, featuring a Pontiac flathead engine that's been pushed forward and a clutch pack built by Bent.
Take a look below for a closer look at this rare and fascinating Oakland.
