what i know about 1966 pontiacs you could write on a postage stamp. so if you are reading this then i am sure you know way more than me about this kind of antique car. so i encourage anyone interested to come see and drive it if at all possible. up for auction is this 1966 pontiac grand prix sport coupe needing a little TLC. clear title in hand. she has a great big 389 ci V8 in her which starts up very easily and runs GREAT, the engine seems very healthy and will spin the rear tires with just a jab on the gas pedal. the old girl will need a new exhaust. she is fitted with power windows, factory A/C, power steering and power brakes. there are three chrome switches under the dash that read SPEAKER. RR DEFROST and  UP *ANTENNA* DN . all the power windows work but some are kinda slow. all the glass is good. the area around the back glass is VERY good, please see the close up picture`s. three of the four floor pans are as SOLID AS THE DAY THEY WERE MADE. the fourth floor pan, the drivers floor pan has a couple of TINY holes in it about the size of the head of a pencil. the rocker panels and all the floor braces ARE SOLID AS A ROCK. there is evidence of some bondo around the rear wheel well`s but it must have been done years ago, see close up pictures. the trunk floor has had some fiber glass put on it at some time in the distant past. but from underneath the trunk floor looks good and so do the inner quarter panels. the gas tank looks great also. the FRAME OF THE CAR IS ALSO AS SOLID AS A ROCK. the underside lip of the hood and trunk lid are also in great condition, see close up pic`s. the four spinner hubcaps are for correct 14 inch wheels and the car has 15 inch wheels on it. the A/C evaporator is out of its box under the hood and is lying in the trunk floor. the dash pad will need to be replaced.

right now the old girl will crank right up and drive around the yard or onto a trailer but she has not been on the road for about two years. in my opinion the buyer would be wise to trailer the car away. i can provide a shipping quote if you give me the town you live in and the zip code. i am not saying that the car could not be driven away but its not something i would do. if you have any questions, want to make an offer or need more pictures please email. or you can call me on 864 616 6860 up until 10 pm east coast time. shipping over sea`s is no problem at all and charleston port is only 4 hours east of me. i have already shipped antique cars to england, germany, sweden and australia. clear title in hand but i do not have any keys for the car. thanks and good luck.

One of Burt Reynolds' favorite cars could be yours

Fri, Apr 12 2019

LOS ANGELES — One of Burt Reynolds' favorite cars is going up for auction in June along with some of his cowboy boots, hats, sports jackets and other items from his estate, Julien's Auctions said on Friday. The two-day auction in Beverly Hills, authorized by the actor's family, comes almost a year after the death at age 82 of the charming star who was one of Hollywood's favorite actors. The highlight of the auction is a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am car that Reynolds used on photo shoots and drove on the Bandit Run cross country rally, which re-enacts the journey at the center of his 1977 film "Smokey and the Bandit." The car, which Reynolds co-owned with his business partner Gene Kennedy, is expected to fetch up to $500,000 at auction, Julien's said in a statement. Two pairs of leather cowboy boots — one red and one yellow — are also offered for sale with estimates ranging from $800 to $2,000 a pair, along with two cowboy hats. Reynolds started out as a football player at Florida State University (FSU) before injuries suffered in a car crash wrecked his hopes of a professional career. But his attachment to FSU remained strong. The auction includes several custom or personalized FSU baseball, basketball and varsity jackets. Other highlights include an oil on canvas painting of the actor's favorite horse titled "Cartouche," which carries an estimate of $20,000 - $30,000. Other art works, furniture and dozens of personal items are also being offered for sale. The auction will take place in Beverly Hills on June 15 and 16, and will be preceded by a public exhibition of some of the items from June 10-14. Reynolds, who was also known for the 1960s television series "Gunsmoke" and the movies "Deliverance" and "Boogie Nights,"" died of a heart attack in Florida in September 2018. Pontiac Firebird in latest Generation Gap scrap

Tue, 30 Sep 2014

Generation Gap is mining the Lingenfelter collection again this week to compare two very different interpretations of the Pontiac Firebird. An original 1968 example goes toe-to-toe with a 2010 Lingenfelter Trans Am to see whether the old man or the modern re-imagining takes the crown.
Being from the Lingenfelter collection, both cars are absolutely immaculate. The '68 packs a Pontiac 350-cubic-inch (5.7-liter) V8 with a claimed 320 horsepower and some classic, muscular style with a hood-mounted tach. Plus, it's painted in an understated shade of green that you don't usually see.
In the other corner is Lingenfelter's pumped-up take on the classic shape based on the modern Camaro, and this is just one of six concept versions ever made. It wears an eye-catching, vintage-inspired livery of blue with a white stripe package. Under its shaker hood is a 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) V8 with a reported 655 hp and 610 pound-feet of torque.

GM expands headlight recall to 180k Buicks and Pontiacs

Thu, Aug 20 2015

General Motors is issuing an expanded headlight module recall to include 180,504 examples in North America of the 2005 Buick LaCrosse (2008 model year pictured above) and 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix. Specifically, the campaign affects 159,584 of them in the US and 20,920 in Canada. When the part fails, the vehicles' low beams can stop working either intermittently or permanently. "GM is unable to confirm any crashes, injuries or fatalities related to this condition," the company said in a statement, and there's currently no permanent repair for the problem. For now, dealers will replace the headlamp module with a new example of the same part. The automaker first announced this campaign in November 2014 when it affected 316,357 examples globally of the 2006-09 Buick LaCrosse; 2006-2007 Chevy TrailBlazer and TrailBlazer EXT; 2006-2007 GMC Envoy and 2006 GMC Envoy XL; 2006-2007 Buick Rainier; 2006-2008 Saab 9-7X; and 2006-08 Isuzu Ascender.
