A perfect Holiday gift for a Father and Son restoration.

This car was listed on eBay 2-3 weeks ago. Frankly we did a marginal job describing the car and its attributes. We have since done some additional work and acquired additional parts. It is an original 1967 GTO (the most desirable GTO year) 242 ‘Z’ code California rust free car built in the GM’s Fremont, California Factory. It has a 400 cubic inch (6.5L) big block with a 4 barrel carburetor and a Turbo 400 transmission. As far as I can tell the car has been in Northern California Gilroy-San Jose area all its life. I bought it two years ago from the third owner who did a partial restoration. The car has had suspension work, new shocks, bushing’s etc. It has power front disc brakes, power steering, Hurst console His-n-Hers automatic transmission and rear anti sway bar. I’ve owned the car for two years. Driven it occasionally in the Napa Valley and Lake Tahoe Nevada area. It drives nicely, it will spin the tires and cruise down the highway effortlessly.  It has clear Nevada title. It also has a fairly new convertible power top in very good condition. I have 13 classic cars. Too many. The car can be driven as is or you could finish restoring it. The original color is Montego Cream. It has been repainted. I think the paint is close to original but not exact. The car color isn’t as yellow as it appears in the pictures. I have a lot of the stainless trim pieces to include the wheel well trim and area around the convertible top well. Also have the canvas well for the convertible top. Also have a chrome radiator bracket. The car has dual Flowmaster mufflers and sounds great. The car isn’t perfect but with a little work and a few bucks it could be real nice. 1967 GTO’s are rock solid collectors, they will never go down in value. I also have a original reproduction window sticker. If you can’t afford the car please don’t waste your time or mine calling or emailing. The car can be seen at my warehouse in Fairfield Ca. I can be reached at 775-771-8889. George

This car can be a great and fun (but not fancy) driver or a drive and restore project. It’s not a perfect car by any means. If you put $10-15k into the car it would be a very nice car worth $50-60k. It will never go down in value. We are looking for serious bidders with serious questions. We have sold cars before on eBay with great success. You are bidding on a car from a private collection. If you have any questions let us know and we will be happy to answer them. Below are a few more bullet points about the car. Happy Bidding!

  • Rust free
  • Straight California car (blue plates) I have the original blue plates.
  • Original 242 ‘Z’ Code car manufactured at GM’s Fremont California Factory.
  • I believe the exterior color is Montego Cream with black interior
  • Power Steering
  • Power Front Disc Brakes. A great option.
  • Strong running 400 cu inch Big Block with 4bbl Carb. Smokes the tires and cruises down the highway nicely.

  • Rally II rims 15’’ with trim rings and good rubber Dunlop GT Qualifier RWL tires.
  • Dual exterior mirrors and original seat belts.

  • Power convertible Top

This KITT replica sold at auction for $32,500

Thu, Apr 23 2020

UPDATE: This 1987 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am KITT replica officially sold for $32,500. Here's hoping the new owner has a blast throwin' it into Pursuit Mode. Let's get one thing straight right off the bat: This isn't a perfect KITT replica. The original KITT used in the Knight Rider TV series was based on a 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. The one you see above, which is currently for sale at auction site Bring A Trailer, is a 1987 model, and since it's a GTA edition, it has some extra body cladding that the smooth-sided television car lacked. That aside, most casual observers would probably never notice the difference, and even those who did (like us) are still likely to be impressed by the car's transformation. This KITT replica is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. It ought to be fairly quick, though quite a bit shy of the fictional car's very fictional 300-mph top speed. We're not exactly Knight Rider experts, but some quick Google sleuthing suggests that the Knight Industries Two Thousand supposedly cost more than $11,000,000 to build in Hollywoodland. This one will surely command a significantly lower sum — as of this writing, it's been bid up to $18,000 with four days remaining on the auction. This content is hosted by a third party. There are several videos of the car that detail its modifications inside and out, but suffice it to say it seems to be a well-sorted replica. Here's hoping its new owner keeps it well clear of other KARRs. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.

Lutz says GM was working on 5th-gen Pontiac GTO

Thu, 08 Aug 2013

Bob Lutz was one of the forces behind bringing the Holden Monaro to the United States, as the ill-fated Pontiac GTO in 2004. And while that car received critical acclaim, it was a sales disappointment. Now, Road & Track is reporting that our suspicions were correct - Pontiac was working on a two-door, G8-based coupe before it was shuttered.
In that R&T article, which is no longer available online, Lutz explained that the new GTO would solve many of the issues found in the original. Car Advice speculates that the new model would have look like a rebadged version of the Holden Coupe 60 Concept from 2008, a conclusion we also came to.
That car would have been a big departure from the 2004 to 2006 GTO. It has an extremely long hood and short rear deck, with an almost fastback roofline and a wide greenhouse with a tall beltline. The wheel arches were very pronounced, and the chin and rocker panel splitters gave it a race-ready look. Would it have been enough to make the GTO work in the US? We think it might of, but it looks like we'll never know.

Burt Reynolds' personal 1977 Trans-Am from Smokey And The Bandit for sale

Fri, Dec 5 2014

Smokey and the Bandit is one of those quintessential 1970s car movies with insane premises but tons of fun. After all, the basic plot of the film is about distracting the police to transport cases of Coors beer cross country. While Burt Reynolds receives top billing, the real star is definitely his black Pontiac Trans-Am. Now, there's a chance to posses one of these muscle machines actually owned by Reynolds, and it's already proving quite popular. The car is a '77 Trans-Am with the famous, gold screaming chicken proudly on the hood. However, while this is a piece of Reynolds memorabilia, it's not really part of cinematic history. According to the listing, this example was used as a promotional vehicle and then given to Reynolds with a title showing him as a previous owner for proof. Still, there's 400-cubic-inch (6.55-liter) V8 under the hood with a 4-barrel carburetor and an automatic transmission. A plaque inside the driver's door proclaims the car as a "1977 Pontiac Trans Am Owned By Burt Reynolds," and there's a Bandit logo on the door. This is just one lot of Julien Auction's sale of Reynolds memorabilia on December 11 and 12 at The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV. Bidding is already running online, and the Trans-Am is up to $130,000, as of this writing. For the true Reynolds fanatic, the auction also lists the motorized stagecoach from his wedding to Loni Anderson. It rides built on an International Harvester Scout frame with an interior reportedly from Dolly Parton.
