1965 TRUE GTO! AN ORIGINAL RED CAR! LOADED WITH OPTIONS! VERY COMPLETE & BUILDABLE! If you've been looking for the perfect car to build, you have found it. This is by far one of the most desirable and most affordable cars you will find out there. Many great cars pass through eBay but not very often do you find cars of this caliber. So here is that rare opportunity to own one of the most sought after muscle cars ever made but at a realistic price. Please note that I do have this car for sale locally and I will end the auction early should it sell prior to the auction ending. So if interested, please do not hesitate to call Shawn at 816-308-0351. This GTO has spent almost twenty years locked away in captivity. Sunk away in the deep dark bowels of an old warehouse, this GTO had not seen the light of day until just recently. As you will see, someone made a valiant attempt at restoring it. The car overall has a lot of attractive aspects. Aside from the obvious, (being a true GTO, floor shifter car with the console, a correct 389, being loaded with options, and having the most desirable color scheme) it is also a fairly solid car that is very complete. So you can rest comfortably knowing that you won't be spending endless hours hunting down parts all over the planet! Body: The body through out the GTO has some very appealing aspects. It is not suffering from all of the typical rust that you would find with most of these GTO's. For example the roof, rear sill, hood, trunk lid, rockers, doors, fenders, inner wheel housing, rear frame rails, they are all very solid and original! Even the floors are solid but that is due to the front floors being replaced. The quarters will require half quarters and the GTO will need a new trunk pan. All of the glass through out the GTO is in excellent shape. None of it is cracked or suffering from any major blemishes. The bumpers are there but they are pealing and will need rechromed or replaced. Engine & Mechanical: I was told by the previous owner that the transmission was original to the car but I have not verified that. I do know that the motor does not match but it does have the correct YF (389 automatic) block. Based on what the previous owner had explained, it was running when it was pulled and put in the GTO. The transmission was also functional. Interior: The interior as you can see is complete. The dash and instrument panel I do not believe have ever been pulled. It is very complete and unmolested. We do have the original bucket seats and back seat as well as the original center console which as you will see is complete and is in fairly good condition. The headliner is also still in tact but will need replaced. I will be evaluating all reasonable offers and I will in fact sell the GTO early as we do have it for sale "locally". My goal here is to sell the GTO. I strongly encourage anyone who is interested to please call or email to schedule a time to come check it out. I would also like to add that I am usually on the phone from 7 AM until about 12 AM so you are always welcome to call and if I do not answer, just leave a message and I will return your call immediately. I know from my own experience with purchasing cars online, most of the time it is very difficult to get someone on the phone and to obtain the information you need. So I try to always stay on top of emails and phone calls. Also, if you need photos of any specific areas of the vehicle, please do not hesitate to ask. We do have a clear title for this GTO. As always, good luck and happy bidding! Thanks, Shawn (816) 308-0351 Looking for some other rare and exotic Muscle cars? I have several others, two of which are on eBay right now. Please feel free to check them out by clicking here.

Lutz says Washington killed Pontiac, next G6 was to be ATS derivative
Tue, 29 Oct 2013How many people think Buick or GMC should have gotten the axe instead of Pontiac? You can't see it, but I'm raising my hand. Autoweek reports that former Vice Chairman of GM, Bob Lutz, has indicated that things didn't have to end up the way they did.
"The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.'"
In a talk given at the Petersen Automotive Museum for the Inside the MotoMan Studio series, Lutz says "The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.' So, it goes. And when the guy who is handing you the check for $53 billion says, 'I don't want Pontiac, drop Pontiac or you don't get the money,' it doesn't take you very long to make up your mind." Lutz even added that the next-generation Pontiac G6 would have benefitted from the rear-wheel-drive platform of the Cadillac ATS. How awesome would that have been?
Jay Leno tries out a 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge that looks factory fresh
Tue, Jan 31 2017The latest machine to show up on Jay Leno's Garage is arguably the most iconic Pontiac GTO, the 1970 Judge. The example here is a radically red model and features all of the nifty Judge features, such as the mega-size rear wing, hood-mounted tachometer, and ram air hood scoop. The latter of which had a panel in the hood that would open up at full throttle to let in all that cool air from outside. The car is owned by the Wade Kawasaki, president of Coker Tires, a company that specializes in reproducing classic tires. Not surprisingly, his GTO features a set of the company's Firestone Wide Oval tires. That particular tire would have come with the car originally, but these new versions are built like modern radial tires, rather than the slippery bias-ply originals. The tires are indicative of how Kawasaki restored the rest of his Judge. Everything has been taken back to factory-spec. It has a stock, 400-cubic inch V8 that makes a supposedly underrated 366 horsepower, and it's complete with the chrome valve covers and foam intake seal. The tires are accompanied by exact replica GTO Judge wheels. The car even has the true, original interior. Somehow, the upholstery, dash, and other interior components survived in excellent condition. Check out the video above for more details on this flashy muscle car, as well as some reminiscing about the "good ol' days," and some history on the origins of the car's name. Related Video:
Porsche still deciding on one or two new 911 plug-in hybrids
Tue, May 29 2018Back in March, Porsche CEO Oliver Blume told Autocar that the coming Porsche 911 plug-in hybrid "will be the most powerful 911 we've ever had." That quote portended a 992-series 911 with 700 horsepower or more. A new report in Auto Express, however, suggests Porsche is having energetic debates about just what the 911's hybrid strategy will be, and that the only agreed-upon plug-in hybrid 911 so far is a milder version to sit in the middle of the range. Putting all our rumors in a row, in January, Automobile reported on an electrically-assisted 911 with 485 hp and 561 pound-feet of torque. The new AE piece effectively endorses that, saying the mid-range hybrid would follow the program established by the all-wheel drive Cayenne e-Hybrid that produces a combined 455 hp and 516 lb-ft. The 911 would naturally use a flat-six instead of the Cayenne's 3.0-liter V6, and the sports car would be tuned for better sound response and sharper reflexes. AE says fuel economy for this hybrid should be at least 80 eMPG, with emissions of less than 80 grams per kilometer. The current base Carrera is currently rated at a maximum 38.2 mpg in the UK, with minimum emissions of 169 g/km. The hybrid, fitted with a double-clutch gearbox and Porsche's mechanical all-wheel-drive system, could run from a stop to 62 miles per hour in less than four seconds, making it more efficient than a base Carrera and much faster than a Carrera 4S. AE says there remains only "the potential for Porsche to add a second, more powerful hybrid 911," and says its sources claim that's what's "causing the most consternation behind closed doors." This one would be the twin-turbocharged, 700-hp beastie that, as a series production car, would have a hard time not usurping the 540-hp Turbo, 580-hp Turbo S, and 607-hp Turbo S Exclusive. True, the hybrid would be handicapped with a 550-pound battery pack, but the instant acceleration and handling benefits of electric AWD — with no connection between the axles — could provide the final edge over the other three. As such, it makes sense that there'd be a whole lot of debate about a flagship 911 hybrid. On the other hand, such a monster seems like an eventuality in view of Porsche's electrified aspirations, the lessons gained from the 918 Hybrid and the 919 Hybrid Le Mans racer, and the fact that CEO Blume has already spoken. The Stuttgart carmaker expects a sales mix of 25 percent electric, 25 percent hybrid, and 50 percent conventional powertrains by 2025.
