O.K. Pontiac and all muscle car fans up for auction is a nice 1966 Pontiac GTO. Now if you are looking for a nut and bolt frame off restored trailer queen turn back now cause this isn't it! However it is not priced $40K+ either. But if you are in the market for a very nice, solid well above driver quality car keep reading. This is an awesome muscle car that you will be proud to drive and show off anywhere!! This car turns heads and gets compliments everywhere I drive it.
This car shows 67,209 miles on the odometer... Now I was told they were original miles but due to the age of the car the title reads exempt. I was also told it has less than 20,000 miles on its completely rebuilt 389 V8 with power steering. This GTO runs and drives as smooth and tight as any classic car I have been behind the wheel of. It starts with the bump of the key and has a nice deep throaty roar. The clutch is tight and the 4 speed transmission shifts through all gears up/down flawlessly! Jump in this one and drive anywhere!!
The car appears to have all of its original sheet metal it was born with the exception of a trunk pan. Everything fits and lines up great and it is a very solid car! The #'s can still be seen stamped in the rockers and quarter panels.
The paint is beautiful bright red and shows very well. It is slick, straight and has a high quality shine. I am told the car was repainted aprox 3-4 years ago and has been garage kept since. It still looks and shows very well. If you want to be real knit picky... The paint has never been sanded and buffed. I would rate it well above driver quality at about a 7.5 on a scale of 1 to 10 with a 10 being perfect and it could be an 8.5 or 9 if someone was willing to take the time to sand, buff, and polish her out.
The car has had both front/rear bumpers replaced new. All other chrome, stainless, glass, etc appear to be original but show good.
The interior is mostly all original and looks outstanding. It is equipped with bucket seats, factory console, Hurst 4 speed shifter, am 8 track player (still works) and aftermarket temperature gauge. The serious flaws to the interior is two small places in the dash pad (see pics)
The trunk is very solid and looks great. It has been freshly splatter painted and is complete with trunk mat, spare tire and jack.

NHTSA investigating 550k Pontiac G6 models, 320k Honda Odysseys
Mon, 10 Jun 2013According to two separate reports in The Detroit News, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is launching investigations into 550,000 Pontiac G6 (pictured above) and 320,000 Honda Odyssey (pictured right) models. The G6 models are all from the 2005 to 2007 model years, while the Odyssey minivans are from the 2003 and 2004 model years. The two NHTSA probes are not related.
In the case of the G6, this is an upgrade to an original investigation that started in February after NHTSA received "hundreds of reports" that the brake lights on these cars may malfunction. According to The Detroit News, the lights may come on when the brake pedal is not depressed, and likewise, the brake lights may not illuminate when the pedal has been pushed. General Motors was able to provide NHTSA with a significant number of warranty claims, including 1,100 reports that could potentially relate to this problem, one of which indicates a vehicle crash.
For Honda, the NHTSA probe concerns airbags that may deploy unexpectedly. The government agency received six complaints from 2003-04 Odyssey owners saying that the front airbags suddenly went off without a crash. The Detroit News reports that three of the six owners sustained injuries from these incidents. Additionally, NHTSA has received 41 complaints from owners saying the vehicle's airbag warning light had illuminated.
Celebrate the summer solstice by building the Pontiac Solstice shooting brake GM never did
Fri, Jun 21 2019Happy summer solstice, everyone! To celebrate, we have a particularly unusual eBay find connected to the Pontiac Solstice sports car. A seller has leftover inventory of fiberglass hardtops designed to turn the Pontiac Solstice roadster into a shooting brake. The seller says they came from a since-closed Indiana company, and they're clearly inspired by another aftermarket part and even a GM concept that never saw the light of day. We'll start from the beginning: the stillborn Chevy Nomad concept. It was a concept that came out about the same time as the original Solstice concept, and it was clearly based on the same platform, featuring a small two-door body and a long nose. It also had unashamedly retro Nomad wagon design cues and cues from the original Corvette. The car never saw production, but clearly people were interested in having a wagon-like sports car. That brings us to the next bit of history with an aftermarket hardtop developed by German company EDAG. We saw a prototype in person, and the overall shape seemed to fit the car — and the wraparound window design certainly seemed Nomadic. Besides the unique look, the hardtop and its functional hatch made the Solstice roadster's miniscule cargo space far more usable. It doesn't appear many of the tops were sold, though. These tops on eBay look very similar to the EDAG tops, though it's not clear if they're a direct replica or something similar. Being that the parts are leftover inventory, the seller notes that some of the tops may be missing pieces for installation, so only those who are handy with bodywork and fasteners, or who are able to lean on someone who is, need apply. Even with some extra work, if you really want a Solstice shooting brake, this is likely easier and cheaper than commissioning a shop to custom-build a roof for your. If you're interested, check out the link. They're $499.99 apiece, and the seller will also provide a set of seals and gaskets for the top for an extra $125.
Junkyard Gem: 2001 Pontiac Aztek
Tue, Jul 11 2017Ah, the Pontiac Aztek. Everyone laughs at the Aztek ... except, apparently, for Coloradans who like to go camping, bike riding, hiking, and all that outdoorsy stuff that folks do in the Centennial State. You'll see Azteks being driven, unironically and without shame, all over the place in the Denver region, and now plenty of them are showing up in the local wrecking yards. Here's a first-year-of-production example in its final campground. These minivans or crossovers (or however the experts finally decided to categorize them) had built-in air compressors, audio controls in the rear cargo area, and other features meant to enhance tailgating, camping, and other activities deemed central to Generation X's allegedly active lifestyle. You could even get an optional camping kit with a tent that attached to the rear of the Aztek. So, it was a General Motors minivan-like vehicle, cousin of the weird-looking Dustbusters of the 1990s, with lots of useful features for those who did more than just commute to work and drop off kids at school. Unfortunately for GM, the Aztek was staggeringly ugly, and Generation Xers were too damned broke to buy new cars in 2001, anyway. I see plenty of them in Denver-area wrecking yards now, along with their slightly-less-offensive-looking Buick Rendezvous siblings, and so I decided to document one before they're all gone.
