Condition is excellent, no dings or dents, first class restoration.

Vehicle is a reborn 1969 Pontiac GTO 2 Door Convertible, Warwick Blue, White Top, Dark Blue Interior, Bucket Seats.

History: We have owned this car since 1986. It was built in Baltimore, purchased at Coggins Pontiac in Jacksonville, and has been in Florida all it’s life. It is a numbers matching car except for the engine and rear end. Both are available for purchase if you want to make it a numbers matching car again. We opted for the higher horsepower 428 Ram Air engine with a functioning Ram Air induction system, and a much stronger rear end.

Features: AM/FM radio, A/C, PS, PB, PT, CC, Rally gauge cluster, hidden headlamps, remote outside rear view mirror, passenger side rear view mirror, deck lid release package, 15" Rally II wheels, custom sports steering wheel, ride & handling package, floor console, glove box & trunk lighting.  The original Turbo Hydramatic 400 was completely rebuilt with all the popular modifications for performance and durability.  The ten bolt 1972 Buick rear axle assembly is the newer 8.5 inch ring gear model with improved bearings.  It is the Safe-T-Track limited slip differential 2.56:1 which helps gas mileage.

Local professional Ron Pence of R&R Performance Auto Specialties in Lakeland completed the frame off rotisserie restoration, including every nut and bolt and front glass replacement. Ron used rust free Arizona front fenders and reproduction rear quarters to replace the salt water ruined parts thanks to years of running up and down our beautiful beaches. Also used were our accumulated NOS and some reproduction parts, Allison breaker less C/D ignition system, Ram Air III cast iron exhaust manifolds, dual exhaust system with crossover pipe. Added was the Royal Bobcat upgrades starting with a 1969 428 engine, decals, trim, and special paint scheme, plus seven blade fan, desert cooler radiator, dash tachometer, Stewart-Warner triple gauge pod, front disc brakes, boxed rear control arms, rear sway bar, larger front sway bar, stiffer springs, rear deck airfoil.

Stephen’s Engine Builders built the 428 engine by boring .030 making it 455 ci, using hypereutectic pistons, Ram Air III cast iron exhaust manifolds, Melling Ram Air III camshaft, 1.5 rocker arms, and high volume oil pump. They also added the Holley Dual ProJection 1340 cfm TBI fuel injection system on an Offenhauser aluminum dual quad intake manifold. It runs on 92 octane fuel.

The original speedometer was showing 32,233 before restoration, and the new one shows 7,799 meaning about 140,032 miles.

The original 400 ci engine, and non posi 3.23:1 rear axle, and top boot may be available.

Take a close look at all the photos, this GTO has been assembled better than any ever were off the factory line. Painstaking measures were taken to make every gap between sheet metal and all exterior parts absolutely prefect. Pay special attention to the front end and rear bumper on this car compared to other GTO's, and you WILL see the difference. You won't find another GTO with such perfect gaps around the entire vehicle.  Check the hide away headlights that open and close properly, plus stay open like they are supposed to do.

Trans Am Depot teases 2014 GTO

Mon, 24 Jun 2013

Here comes the Judge. Court is in session. The verdict is in. How many more tired clichés can we come up with? It hardly seems to matter, because it's happening: Trans Am Depot has announced via the teaser video below that it is launching a 2014 GTO, complete with Carousel Red (bright orange, really) paint and full Judge badging.
The car is based on Trans Am Depot's 6T9 Goat, which, in case you don't get the reverential references, is meant to mimic the look of the 1969 Pontiac GTO. As with the company's other cars -including the 2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am we recently drove - the GTO will be based on the current Chevy Camaro, which means two doors, V8 engines and rear-wheel drive, just like the muscle cars of days past.
As for actual details of what's under the 2014 GTO's hood, we're completely left hanging. We'd expect some sort of power adder (turbo, supercharger or possibly some other form of a highly massaged version of the Camaro's V8), and we certainly know that GM has any number of hi-po crate engines to choose from.

Burt Reynolds' movie re-creations fetch $379,500 in Vegas

Wed, Oct 3 2018

The recent death of Hollywood legend and automotive enthusiast Burt Reynolds helped drive up the value of four of his former cars from the 1970s and '80s, which sold last weekend at Barrett-Jackson's Las Vegas auction for a combined $379,500. Reynolds, who died Sept. 6 at age 82, had offered three Pontiac Trans Ams — two of them re-creations of the cars he drove in "Smokey and the Bandit" and "Hooper" and the third from 1984 used to promote his United States Football League team, the Tampa Bay Bandits. The fourth was a 1978 Chevrolet R30 pickup truck, styled like the one featured in "Cannonball Run." The "Bandit" re-creation, a 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am that Reynolds ordered to be as "movie-correct" as possible but featuring a custom-built 200-4R automatic transmission, sold for $192,500. The car features a freshly built Pontiac 400 cubic-inch V8 mated to a four-speed automatic and featuring all-new Butler Performance parts and air-conditioning components. Reynolds reportedly said this was his favorite car from his films, and it even came with an authentic movie-correct CB radio and CB antenna. The red retro-rocket "Hooper" '78 Firebird, with a 403 cubic-inch V8 and a three-speed automatic, hammered for $88,000. By comparison, a gold 1978 Trans Am also offered at the Las Vegas auction but not connected to Reynolds fetched $27,500. The 1987 Chevy R30 pickup was a re-creation of the Indy Hauler pace truck seen jumping over a moving freight train in "Cannonball Run." It hammered for $49,500. The fourth car never appeared in any of Reynolds' films but is instead the only surviving example of two Trans Ams used to promote the Tampa Bay Bandits of the now-defunct USFL, having been driven out onto the field by Reynolds and his late friend and co-star, Jerry Reed, during opening day one season. It also sold for $49,500. At the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction in 2016, Reynolds accompanied a 1977 Trans Am used to promote "Bandit" onto the auction block. That car sold for $550,000. Motorweek looks back at the Pontiac Aztek

Thu, Jul 9 2015

The Pontiac Aztek has earned a position as this generation's ultimate, automotive punchline. Even other execrable models like the Yugo or Mustang II probably get more respect these days just out of their sheer quirkiness, but the Aztek remains a joke. Fortify your mind for what's coming, though, because the much-maligned Pontiac might not be quite so atrocious, at least according to MotorWeek's latest Retro Review video. MotorWeek calls the Aztek, "GM's first true crossover vehicle," and it's amazing to think of the hated model as a progenitor of one of the most popular segments today. While admitting that the looks are polarizing, John Davis and company actually come away pleased with the Aztek's utility. They praise that there's a ton of room in the back, and the interior is packed with useful features like a removable cooler in the center console and radio controls in a cargo area. The show is even impressed with how the Pontiac drives and throws around accolades like "nimble" and "pleasant." After seeing the Aztek leading the pack on lists of the worst vehicles of all time for years, listening to it get such effusive praise is actually quite jarring. Could we all be so wrong? No, there's absolutely no debate that this is still a hideous automobile. However, MotorWeek asserts a complete reversal of the generally perceived wisdom about the early CUV. While unexpected, thinking about such an abhorred model in a different way is a cool experience. Check out the video for a different take on the Aztek.
