PLEASE READ, I KNOW PICTURES ARE GREAT BUT THIS WILL ANSWER MANY OF YOUR QUESTION SO WE CAN KEEP THE STUPID ONES TO A MINIMUM
Up for sale is my UNFINISHED 1968 gto project Real GTO NUMBERS MATCHING!!! 400/400 His/Hers Hurst Automatic - the sad fact is that it was completely restored frame off and then fell upon some hard times and got some bumps and bruises. I took it back apart a few years ago and redid most everything but time is my enemy and I just cant get it done. The engine is a 400 with the factory header/manifolds that are jethot coated-roller rockers-custom high rise valve covers-Holley street dominator carb - edelbrock high rise intake - H beam rods - forged pistons - steel crank - .40 over - mild cam - performance timing chain - HEI ignition - $3000 in machine shop work and assembly - ran this setup for 1000 miles and then started tearing car down -Auto Trans is fully built as well with Fairbanks converter - Rear has a performance posi spool - has performance lower control arms- kyb shocks- air ride lift bags - front has QA1 performance adjustable coilovers - front has disc brakes - 2006 GTO 17 wheels with BFGoodrich g-force tires - Aluminum Radiator and Trans cooler -Custom Exhaust with Flowmasters -
Factory options: Hood Tach - Rear Defrost - Posi rear but actually has a performance spool that was $1000 - Front seat headrests - wood steering wheel -  hideaway headlights that all components are almost new!!

Heres the kicker, This engine  is AWESOME! but not the original. The original engine and trans is on a pallet in my warehouse and comes with it!!!

Next: The body is originally a Oklahoma car and was very solid from the start
original sheetmetal - solid floors and trunk - was stripped and sealed with etch prime and POR-15 as was the frame - GREAT CHROME, TRIM, and MOULDINGS!!!

This car is not complete as you can see - it will need paintwork (NIGHTSHADE GREEN) or not, buyers call - has damage spots around and I was going to strip the handles, mouldings etc and block/fix blend color and reclear but still havent got that far - as for mechanical its 100% done but it will need all the wiring harness installed

ALL THE PARTS ARE INCLUDED - EVERYTHING IS IN BOXES OR IN THE TRUNK - INTERIOR IS COMPLETE EXCEPT IT WILL NEED CARPET BECAUSE THE FRONT SECTION GOT THROWN OUT LAST YEAR BY ACCIDENT - THE CAR IS A BEAST AND WAS A BLAST TO DRIVE - I SHOULD HAVE NEVER TORN IT BACK DOWN BUT LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE I TELL MYSELF ILL BLAST IT OUT IN A FEW WEEKS AND 3 YEARS LATER HERE I AM.

NOTE!!! This is an unfinished project car so if you didn't read the description and took the bus figuring you'll drive it home then your gonna be screwed!

Do not make offers if you arent serious or don't know what your getting into - It was originally over $50k when it was restored and ive put $12,600 into it since starting over - money well lost I guess:(
I own a bodyshop and have enough project for the next 100 years so instead of staring at this and working on it about 2 hours a month Im sure there ieone out there that would be a perfect fit for this car

I will help arange shipping and answer any questions just keep the stupid ones to yourself and I don't want to trade for your project - unless you have a almost new superduty diesel or duramax I won't even entertain the thought

Im sure theres about $10k in stuff ive overlooked but i'll keep adding to the description as I remember

General Lee takes on Bandit T/A in classic Hollywood car showdown [w/poll]

Fri, 26 Aug 2011

You don't have to be born in the 1960s or 1970s to be able to recognize the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard and the Pontiac Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit. These old school four-wheeled stars seem to transcend demographics thanks to the miles of film that show the orange 1969 Dodge Charger and the jet-black 1977 Pontiac Trans Am performing seemingly impossible stunts.
The folks at Hot Rod magazine are obviously hip to this fact, and they put together a fun video in tribute of the instantly recognizable duo. Hit the jump to watch on as Sam Young and James Smith replace Bo Duke and The Bandit for a bit of dirt-road shenanigans in a pair of otherwise well cared for classics. We're not so sure we'd call it the best chase scene ever, but it sure looks like a lot of fun.
More importantly, which of these two cars would you rather own? Have your say in our poll below.

Celebrate the summer solstice by building the Pontiac Solstice shooting brake GM never did

Fri, Jun 21 2019

Happy summer solstice, everyone! To celebrate, we have a particularly unusual eBay find connected to the Pontiac Solstice sports car. A seller has leftover inventory of fiberglass hardtops designed to turn the Pontiac Solstice roadster into a shooting brake. The seller says they came from a since-closed Indiana company, and they're clearly inspired by another aftermarket part and even a GM concept that never saw the light of day. We'll start from the beginning: the stillborn Chevy Nomad concept. It was a concept that came out about the same time as the original Solstice concept, and it was clearly based on the same platform, featuring a small two-door body and a long nose. It also had unashamedly retro Nomad wagon design cues and cues from the original Corvette. The car never saw production, but clearly people were interested in having a wagon-like sports car. That brings us to the next bit of history with an aftermarket hardtop developed by German company EDAG. We saw a prototype in person, and the overall shape seemed to fit the car — and the wraparound window design certainly seemed Nomadic. Besides the unique look, the hardtop and its functional hatch made the Solstice roadster's miniscule cargo space far more usable. It doesn't appear many of the tops were sold, though. These tops on eBay look very similar to the EDAG tops, though it's not clear if they're a direct replica or something similar. Being that the parts are leftover inventory, the seller notes that some of the tops may be missing pieces for installation, so only those who are handy with bodywork and fasteners, or who are able to lean on someone who is, need apply. Even with some extra work, if you really want a Solstice shooting brake, this is likely easier and cheaper than commissioning a shop to custom-build a roof for your. If you're interested, check out the link. They're $499.99 apiece, and the seller will also provide a set of seals and gaskets for the top for an extra $125.

Pontiac should come back as a performance division for GM

Thu, Apr 6 2017

For decades the Pontiac brand was known as GM's performance brand. From the 1964 Pontiac GTO, to the 1967 Firebird, to the 1984 Fiero, to the 2006 Solstice Turbo, and 2009 G8 GXP, Pontiac had a reputation for building exciting cars, with bold styling and performance to back it up. When the Camaro was killed off in 2002, the Pontiac Firebird died off with it, and the last Pontiacs were built in early 2010. But with names like G3, G4, and G6, Pontiac's performance image had long faded from it's earlier glory days. My idea for Pontiac's revival would be to bring it back as a dedicated performance marque similar to Chevy's Super Sport (SS) line up of years past. First, and most obvious would be to bring back the Pontiac Firebird. Offering the entry-level model with the Camaro's 275HP turbo 4 cylinder engine, then having the Camaro SS's 455HP V8, but also offering a halo model Trans Am that is a revamped Camaro ZL-1 along with it's tire-shredding 650HP, supercharged V8 and race tuned suspension. Secondly, I would bring back the GTO. Which I would base on the current Chevy SS, but I would use the full 455-horsepower LS4 V8 (rather than the 415-hp setup that it has now). Furthermore, I would add the impressive 650-hp supercharged V8 to provide real competition to the Charger Hellcat. Importantly, I would make sure that the new GTO had bold, distinctive styling that really set it apart. I understand that purists would want any Pontiac GTO to be a two-door coupe, but I think that they could forgive that if the new GTO was an outstanding American performance car. Next, I would take the Buick Cascada convertible, add much bolder styling, swap in the Camaro's 275-hp turbo engine, and tune up the suspension to provide more performance than luxury (without being harsh). And finally I would round out the line up by using the new 2018 Traverse , but use the new, bold Pontiac design language to spice up the model's looks, tweak the engines for more power, and again provide a performance suspension that matches the model's new sporty looks. Obviously, having a high performance Pontiac model line up would steal away some sales from Chevy, Buick, and Cadillac models. But I think that it would more than make up for this by also stealing away sales from competing brands.
