I have owned this GTO for almost 10 years now and  after moving across the country and now getting a divorce its time to part with what was to be my dream car (its part of the divorce settlement, just like my other vehicles ) . The car came from Colorado and is 99.9% rust free I have yet to see any GTO's on here nearly as rust free as this. The only rust spot on the car is at the bottom of the rear window a very common place in these cars and there pin holes at that. As you can see from the pictures there was a want to be body guy trying to prep the car for paint he tried to patch up some dings/ dents. Personally and no I'm not a painter but I would change out the left front fender as it looks like he tried to pull out a dent with an old puller? The doors front fenders and hood had primer put on them strictly to keep the rust off as it was bare metal

The car does not come with the motor as that was gone when I bought the car but I do have the original 4 speed bell housing and drive shaft along with the radiator and shroud. . I have a very nice rally clock and original mirror in the car along with almost every part needed to put her back together. The endure bumper is in great shape as is the grill inserts and headlight buckets. As far as I know all of the hide away headlight pieces are there, I guess I would just have to say there is almost 10 years of stuff that I have purchased for this car sitting inside it. I know I'm missing a ton of stuff that is included so please feel free to ask any and all questions.

Starting Price is solid as this is part of a divorce sale and I honestly don't want to take anymore money out of my pocket then I have to, to pay her off. I will have no choice and it kills me to say this, part the car out if I cant sell it whole to someone who loves these Goats as much as I do. Parts alone are worth way more then my asking price. This car will make for a great restoration as it truly is rust free and almost everything is there its a great starting platform.

Looking back at Oprah's free-car giveaway 10 years later

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

Oprah kicked off her 19th season in dramatic fashion by giving all 276 members of the studio audience a free car.
Molly Vielweber's Pontiac G6 appears unremarkable at first glance. It wears forest green paint, rolls on five-spoke aluminum wheels, and it has a sizeable scrape in the driver's side door, the scar of a decade's worth of hard use. You wouldn't notice it parked at a big box store or cruising on the highway. Pontiac made hundreds of thousands of G6s in the 2000s, and a lot are still on the road. It's unremarkable in every way except for the front license plate, which reads, "Oprah 6."

GM reintroduces Tripower name in the worst way possible

Wed, Aug 1 2018

The story of General Motors' use of the Tripower moniker begins way back in 1957, when Semon E. "Bunkie" Knudsen, then General Manager of GM's Pontiac division, directed his engineers to inject more performance into his brand's line of V8-powered automobiles. Fuel injection was an option, but hot rodders flocked instead to Tri-Power (marketed way back when with a hyphen), which grafted a trio of two-barrel Rochester carburetors onto a single intake manifold. A legend was born. And that legend was born of performance. At idle and when full power wasn't required, Pontiac's Tri-Power system used just the middle carburetor, which helped make the setup easier to tune. Depending on the year and model, either a vacuum system or a mechanical linkage opened up the two outer carbs, thereby switching from two barrels to six, and allowing the engine to take in more fuel and air. And it was an easy marketing win – six barrels is better than four barrels, right? Because performance! So, when news filtered in that GM has resurrected the Tripower name, those of us who grew up attending classic car shows and wrenching on old Pontiacs did a double-take. And then we all collectively sighed. Turns out that today's Tripower refers to a trio of fuel-saving measures that include cylinder deactivation, active thermal management, and intake valve lift control, according to Automotive News. And, at least for now, it applies to GM's line of fullsize trucks powered by a 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. We're all for saving fuel whenever possible. And we have zero say in how any automaker chooses to market its products and technologies. But, we'll offer our two cents anyway: Relaunching a storied name from the past is fine. Relaunching a storied name from the past while completely overlooking the reasons the name got famous in the first place is only going to irritate the people who remember the name in the first place. Couldn't they just call this new technology package something else? Watch this garbage truck consume a Pontiac Grand Am

Wed, 15 May 2013

When an old car or truck offers its dying breath in your driveway and you just don't have the financial or mechanical wherewithal to resuscitate it yet again, you traditionally have to go to the trouble of calling a flatbed or a tow truck to come haul it away. That usually helps to put a few bucks in your wallet and helps recycle some of the vehicle's parts, but the transaction doesn't seem as final or perversely satisfying as the dispatch service that this New Way Cobra Magnum garbage truck offers.
Okay, okay, so this refuse hauler isn't actually designed for this sort of thing, but it's oddly comforting to know that a sanitation truck can compact a hapless Pontiac Grand Am into oblivion. Next time, we won't feel so guilty about slipping that rusty charcoal grille onto the curb next to the cans on garbage day. Watch the carnage by scrolling below.
