first off, a little about this car. this GTO sat in a North Carolina barn for 23 yrs before being bought & restored in 2010. I bought the car from the 67 yr old gentleman who rescued it. car was taken frame off, frame painted as well as bottom of car. also the drivers side quarter panel, drivers side fender left & right rocker panels, tail light panel & filler between back glass & trunk lid all replaced. all work was done by GLASS PAINT & BODY SHOP in Newport,Tn. floor & trunk pan are untouched & are solid. this is now a ROCK SOLID, STRAIGHT, nice car. #'s matching. 400 engine with 400 turbo trans with his/her shifter, 3.36 rearend. crager wheels, new tires, almost all stainless trim is new, new dual exhaust. power steering, new quick ratio gear box, new steering coupler, new pittman arm. power disc brakes (front)...all new. also new original style ignition/doors/trunk lock set. factory tilt steering. needs interior redone. Performace years Pontiac offers an interior kit fot $787.00 that includes front/rear seat upholstery, front & rear door panels, headliner & carpet. unfortunately, this IS NOT a A/C car, but who needs air in a Muscle Car anyways...lol. runs good & drives nice, but please keep in mind that this is not a new car & motor has not been redone. it does smoke a little, but the more its driven, the better its getting. I honestly think that it just needs driven where it sat so long.... definitely not lacking any power! headlights, tail lights, brake lights, speedo, wipers all work. gas gauge, dash lights, heater & turn signals do not. I assume its the dash wiring where it sat, that is usually the problem with most old cars, but I have not had time to tear into that, but we drove it to the rodruns in Pigeon Forge,Tn (about an hour away) with no problems whatsoever. car was rotiseried & painted in 2010, but has been driven & as with any driven car, it has acquired some small dings & scratches along the way. nothing bad, but paint is not show car perfect, but still a very nice car that demands attention wherever it is driven! I would classify this car as a VERY LIGHT project simply b/c it still needs some attention as described, but still a really nice car & with a little TLC, could be a great car. all the hard work is already done! just to give a general idea of my location, I am about 45 min East of Knoxville,Tn. I feel I have descibed this car as accurately as possible, but if I have missed anything, I will gladly answer any questions through E-Bay. I do accept paypal & non refundable deposit of $500 to be deposited with 48 hrs of end of austion with balance to be paid in CASH at time of pickup, NO EXCEPTIONS! car is to be picked up within 7 days of end of auction unlesss prior arrangements are made. thank you for looking at this post & good luck bidding!

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
There's a 'Knight Rider' movie in development
Mon, Aug 17 2020James Wan, who has directed films from the first "Saw" to "Aquaman," with "Furious 7" in between, and produced even more projects, is producing a new Knight Rider movie according to a report in Deadline. Just in case there's a reader who doesn't know, Knight Rider was one of the seminal trio of iconic-car shows from the 1980s, along with "The Dukes of Hazzard" and "Miami Vice." The series lasted 90 episodes that ran from 1982 to 1986, following the crime-fighting exploits of Michael Knight, a man who crusaded for justice after being shot in the face. Billionaire Walton Knight hired Michael to work with the Knight Foundation, where Michael helps develop the Knight Industries Two Thousand, a Pontiac Trans-Am with AI that can talk, drive more than 200 miles per hour, and could teach MI6's Q Branch about gadgetry. Collider described David Hasselhof's Michael Knight as "crimefighter by trade and wearing-a-leather-jacket-with-no-shirt-underneath innovator by hobby." The show made such an impression that there was a series spinoff called "Code of Justice," two TV movies in 1991 and 1994, a convention called KnightCon, and a series reboot on NBC that lasted for one season from 2008 to 2009, as well as stores full of action figures and models and literature, YouTube fan-made trailers and movies, and this wacky German-dubbed short "Knight Rider" film starring Hasselhoff. We don't know anything about the new movie's plot yet, other than that it's set in the present. T.J. Fixman, better known for now as a video game writer who worked on franchises like "Ratchet and Clank" and "Resistance: Fall of Man," has been attached to write, with a mandate to keep "the anti-establishment tone of the original." With matters still early in development there's no telling when the movie will hit theaters, and Wan's probably got his hands busy with the new MacGuyver reboot for CBS, anyway. Now that there's already been a Knight Industries 2000 and 3000, that gives us plenty of time to imagine — in a world where 200-mph hypercars powered by everything sprout like weeds and even Cannonballers are using military-like equipment — what would a Knight Industries Four Thousand possess? And would it be called KIFT? Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.
1970 Firebird Trans-Am with front-mid-engine to be immortalized as a Hot Wheels car
Mon, Nov 30 2020Each year, the Hot Wheels Legends Tour scours the country to find the coolest real-life cars and chooses one to be made into a $1 diecast toy. Earlier this month, the search came to an end when Riley Stair's heavily modified 1970 Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am won the honors. In a normal year, the Hot Wheels Legends Tour would visit multiple cities, holding a car show where judges would select one winner for that stop. At SEMA, each city's winner would then compete for the top spot. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year the contest was held virtually and globally. And since SEMA was canceled too, the finale was held on the "Jay Leno's Garage" YouTube channel with Leno, Snoop Dogg, Gabriel Iglesias, and Hot Wheels designers as judges. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. What set the Firebird apart was, for starters, its front-mid-engine layout. Its LSX V8 was pushed so far back into the firewall that one bank of exhaust headers had to flow forward before curving around the front of the engine to a side-dump. Of course, all of this was custom fabricated, like the roll cage and front tube frame, with professional-grade welds. The body was also heavily modified, flared and channeled to give it a mean stance. But it's the custom Ohlins suspension with independent rear that give it its track-ready look. Perhaps most impressively, this car, which could go toe-to-toe against (and frankly exceed many) six-figure pro builds at SEMA, was built in the side yard of Stair's parents' house. Aside from body and paint, this was a shadetree job. Stair says it took a couple of years, devoting nearly every night and weekend to transforming a rusty and dented Firebird into his dream machine. Other finalists included a Street Freak-style 1969 Corvette from Florida, cartoony 1959 Chevy Ute nicknamed the "Hulk-amino", Rocket Bunny-style Cayman, 1,000-horsepower Chevy Apache, V8-powered Mini Cooper, stanced Fiat 126 from Germany, chopped VW Brasilia from Mexico, and a race-ready 1976 Hillman Imp from the U.K. Cars were judged on creativity, authenticity, and built-not-bought spirit. Look for the Trans-Am to appear in the 2021 Hot Wheels lineup. Related Video: Â Featured Gallery Hot Wheels Legends Tour 2020 View 16 Photos Toys/Games Pontiac Coupe Performance Classics
