HOLY COW!
Alright, lets not kid ourselves...a restored #2 67 400 4 speed GTO is worth 55k all day long.
Yes, this car needs full restoration...however for the guy that wants to do it in his garage, and does not want to pay 50k + for one...this car is for you.
This car is completely restorable, completely untouched...sans intake and carb were removed. (I have them).
Real nicely optioned car including RALLY CLUSTER, 4 speed with console, Posi Rear...ect.
This car has been sitting a long time. It needs work. The frame appears solid, the floors have some crusty surface rust on the bottom, but very structurally sound. The outer rear wheelhouses seem good. Doors and fenders are usable...quarters need some work on the rear lower section. The convertible top frame is nice. No apparent dash rust. It will need a trunk pan..
#'s matching WT 400 original 670 heads.
Car even has factory chalk marks on the firewall...what a time machine!
The car needs work...but is unmolested and a awesome candidate for a full restoration.
I sold a identical 67 GTO convertible on here in the winter for 21k. Im letting this one go a lot cheaper to leave some meat on the bone for the next guy.
Car is for sale locally and auction can be ended at any time.
Sold on a clean, clear WI title.

And a lot of those ways can be boring or tasteless. This one is neither. This is a seriously classy Pontiac GTO. Under the hood is a 461 cu. in. V8 from Butler Performance that's based on an actual Pontiac V8, not just another Chevy engine. The whole thing is subtle with a low-key metallic green and clean gray wheels. There isn't any overly flashy chrome or decals.
This Hoonigan mechanic's twin-turbo Trans Am is wonderful
Thu, Mar 24 2016What do you drive when you work on rally machines for a living? Probably a Subaru WRX, and that's what Gregg Hamilton had for a while until working on his car felt too much like his day job. So when he moved from New Zealand to the US to work for Ken Block (with a few stops along the way) he bought something entirely different. This is Gregg's 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. It's a throwback to another time, but it's anything but stock. It has that magic combination of a big V8 with a manual transmission and rear drive, just like the tin-top racers Gregg watched in his Kiwi youth. He bought it sight unseen from its previous owner in Alabama, and has been tinkering with it ever since. There's something about the flared wheel arches and the classic Firebird gold-striped black livery that has us smitten. Scope out the six-minute clip above from Petrolicious and see if you don't fall for Gregg's Pontiac as well.
Airbag recall adds 85k Pontiac Vibes to tally
Fri, 13 Jun 2014The repairs needed for the faulty airbag inflators supplied by Takata continue to expand. Toyota initially announced a recall of 766,300 vehicles equipped with the bad part on June 11 as a followup to a campaign from 2013. Soon after, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened a preliminary evaluation into five automakers who also used the component in their models. Now, NHTSA has released the official announcement of the latest Toyota recall listing 844,277 affected cars, including the newly added 2003-2004 Pontiac Vibe.
While NHTSA's document didn't include a model-by-model breakdown, General Motors spokesperson Alan Adler estimated to Autoblog that roughly 85,000 Vibes in the US would be covered under the latest recall. Like the rest of the affected models, the airbag inflator could rupture in a crash causing the bag not to work correctly, possibly spraying metal fragments at the occupant.
Toyota spokesperson Cindy Knight told Autoblog that the reason for the disparity between the earlier press release and NHTSA document was that Toyota was continuing to comb through VINs to create a list of affected vehicles. The original number was an estimate of that process at the time. Scroll down to the recall report from NHTSA.
