Red Fire Metallic paint with black interior and automatic top. Power steering and power disc brakes all around. Restoration completed in 2009.  Smoke free and pet free.

Originally purchased the Tempest from a private seller in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX., where he had it stored but never finished the restoration.  He purchased the car from an auto body shop in Georgia where they had done all the body work but needed all the mechanical, paint and interior restoration done.

All power top components to include motor, lines and cylinders are new as well as the top. All interior is new except for used shifter and counsel. New weather striping throughout. Complete engine overhaul to include hardened valve seats and mild cam. Th350 overhauled as was the drive shaft. New power disc brakes all around to include brake lines. Alternator and starter rebuilt to new specs. Pertronix installed as well as all new ignition plugs, wires and coil. New body bushings installed. Rebuilt 4-row radiator as well as new fan motor and heater core. Rear end is not posi. The rear tail light clip is a 1967. All other components are 66. (New nose, front grill inserts and lower moldings would easily make this into a 67). New windshield and all other glass is in good-excellent shape. The front floor pans were in very good shape with only a few spots that were fiber-glassed. The trunk had some pin holes so was also fiber-glassed. New gas tank and sending unit as well as mechanical fuel pump. New Spare tire on new steel rim in trunk.

The car has been stored every winter and has never seen any rain or salt. Garaged in the summer.

Upon request will e-mail restoration sheet parts/rebuild list.

The car runs and drives like new and would be a great, simple project to make it into a true 67 clone.  She's a beautiful care that needs a new home.
Odometer reads 50,658 but am sure it has turned over once. The title is clean and clear of any security interest or party. Minnesota tabs and taxes have been kept up.  I drive the car in the Spring , Summer and Fall to keep all seals soft and in good condition. Less than a 1500 miles on the car since its restoration in 2009.

Winning bidder will have deposited $1000.00 in PayPal account within 24 hours of winning bid. The remainder will be paid by cashiers check or direct deposit to seller within 48 hours.  Title will be expedited once all funds have cleared.

Junkyard Gem: 2002 Pontiac Aztek

Sat, Apr 17 2021

The General's Pontiac Division sold the Aztek for the 2001 through 2005 model years, and — despite enjoying something of a cultural rebirth in recent years — it is generally considered to be one of the worst cars of all time. The idea of using a minivan platform as the basis for a rough-and-tough-looking crossover with plenty of outdoor-lifestyle amenities wasn't the problem, since many vehicle manufacturers have printed bales of money using that formula. What doomed the Aztek was its hideous appearance and sticker price too lofty for its underemployed-at-the-time Generation X target demographic. Still, the Aztek proved to be perfectly suited for the outdoor activities that Coloradans love: hiking, camping, fishing, skiing, hauling mud-caked golden retrievers around, etc., and so you'll still find lots of Azteks on the roads of the Centennial State. Here's an Aztek Yellow Aztek (yes, that's really the paint color's official title) residing just a few rows from a '76 Checker Taxicab in a Denver self-service yard. Sure, it does look like a vehicle built to the specifications of a six-year-old who decreed a mashup between a Datsun F-10 and a Fisher-Price Little People Travel Together Airplane, but so what? There's a built-in air compressor to blow up your inflatable rafts and volleyballs, a tent attachment that turns the rear of the van into a camper, 12-volt power plugs all over the vehicle (years before this became commonplace on ordinary minivans and SUVs), and running-gear commonality with a jillion Ventures, Silhouettes, Montanas and Trans Sports. Buick managed to de-uglify the Aztek (somewhat) and sold it as the Rendezvous through 2007, but the Aztek never could win over many people with this face. I see plenty of Azteks and Rendezvouses in Denver-area wrecking yards, and I've documented a handful over the years. This one came fully loaded from the factory, with the Corvette-style heads-up display in full effect. The center console was a removable cooler, which was a great idea Â… except for the fact that this cooler holds five standard 12-ounce cans. Michigan residents tell me that this must have been intentional on the part of the Detroit-based Aztek designers, because Michiganders are expected to chug one beer out of a sixer as they walk from the liquor store to the car in the parking lot Â… which makes me extra cautious whenever I'm driving in the Wolverine State.

This 93-car Iowa auction is like a Big 3 classic muscle museum

Tue, Aug 27 2019

Bill "Coyote" Johnson has been buying cars since high school and has amassed a collection totaling 113 vehicles, according to NBC 6 News. But time has changed his motivations and priorities, and he's decided to auction 93 of those cars, many of which are classic muscle from Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, Plymouth and Pontiac. The megasale will take place Sept. 14, 2019, in Red Oak, Iowa, at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. A 1969 Plymouth Road Runner infected Coyote with a love for Detroit muscle when he was just a teenager, and his desire quickly turned into an obsession. He's spent the past 40 years finding, buying and working on a variety of makes and models. Unlike some collectors, Coyote didn't discriminate against certain brands and has rides from each of the Big 3 automakers. Included in the auction are Camaros, Satellites, Super Bees, Chargers, Challengers, Barracudas, Coronets, GTOs, Mustangs, Cutlasses and others. Possibly the most intriguing aspect of the auction is that all of these cars will be sold as-is with no reserve. Many of them will need work, depending on quality standards, but this seems like a golden opportunity to find a classic car without leaving a bank account in shambles.  The auctions are open for bidding online now, and the full auction will take place on September 14. Check out the full listings and bid at VanDerBrink Auctions.

David Hasselhoff's own KITT replica up for auction

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

Depending on when and where you grew up, the name David Hasselhoff likely conjures up images of Knight Rider, Baywatch, pop singer, or possibly a washed-up TV actor, but one thing that can never be taken away from The Hoff is his connection to one of the greatest automotive icons in pop culture. The Knight Industries Two Thousand, usually shortened to simply KITT, was the real star of Knight Rider for many fans. Based on a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, the car combined snarky quips for comedy relief and stunts to provide much of the show's actions. Now, Julien's Auctions is selling Hasselhoff's own replica as part of a larger sale of the actor's personal memorabilia collection.
This recreation is based on a 1986 Firebird and comes with all of the tech on the inside that now seems hilariously outdated, like the yoke steering wheel and plethora of buttons. The interior also thoughtfully includes a voice box with over 4,000 sound clips from the show. With a 5.0-liter V8 and an automatic transmission, performance is likely adequate and period correct. According to the listing, this car was created by fans and given to the Hoff. Sadly, the replica doesn't convert to Super Pursuit Mode like KITT could in later seasons, and we most associate KITT with conventional front-hinged doors to go with the power t-tops and ejector seats.
Bidding currently sits $27,500 with eight bids, since starting at $15,000. Julien's predicts it will sell for between $30,000 and $50,000. If there is some nostalgia for KITT in your heart, there is still plenty of time to bid.
