1965 PONTIAC GTO SPORT COUPE powered by the 400 ci with the 4 speed on the floor. This is a factory air car! This Pontiac has been fully restored at on time. Current condition is in excellent shape from top to bottom, in fact I have taken 85 pictures of the car and it is unfortunate I can only post 24 for this Ebay listing. Now, I am not saying this car is 100% perfect, I'm sure you could take a white glove and magnifying glass and find imperfections. What I will say is that this car has been very well cared for and has not been neglected in any way. The previous resto was completed with the up most quality which has shown in time, and again this car is as nice on top as it is underneath and in between! There is not anything that needs repaired or tended to at this time. I keep this car climate controlled garage kept with a fresh coat of wax on it. When the weather is right it is only adult driven for a "sunday drive", usually for a date night dinner. The oil is always changed every 3 months regardless of miles driven. To be honest I could write a book on my general maintenance steps I take on a regular basis, yet quite frankly I'm not much of a writer. To sum it up this car is cared for better than most treat the family pet. I do not have any documentation to go with the car besides a clean and clear title. Unfortunately, any documentation once with the car has been misplaced over the years. I do welcome and encourage a prospective bidder to come see the car in person prior to bidding. I am also not in need of selling this car but I have made the choice to do so. My toys have accumulated to the point that caring for them all is a job instead of a hobby, so I'm simply looking to down size to potentially narrow my focus down and bring back the fun of it. To be clear, letting this Pontiac go will not be easy. I do ask that all bidders have their finances in order and any inspections of vehicle completed prior to bidding. I am only looking for a pleasant transaction for both parties. I will require a mandatory minimal deposit of 10% of the purchase price, no less than $2000.00, within the first 24 hours after the auction has ended. I would expect payment in full no more than 7 day after end of auction. Acceptable forms of payment may be cash, certified cashiers check, or bank to bank wire transfer. I can make arrangements for the deposit to be made by debit or credit card. Which I would refund once payment is made in full by the three acceptable forms of payment. Buyer is responsible for picking up vehicle at their own expense. I do have professional transportation connections, if so desired. PLEASE, do not bid unless you are prepared to buy. If you have any questions or to schedule a showing of this car please contact Courtney @ cell# 417-880-0538 Thank you for looking. Merry Christmas to you all and Happy New Year to the new buyer!

'67 Chevy Corvair convertible vs. '86 Pontiac Fiero in cult classic showdown

Fri, 22 Aug 2014

Every few a decades, the folks running General Motors lose their minds briefly try to market a car that public doesn't see coming and often aren't ready for. In the '60s there was the rear-engine, air-cooled Chevrolet Corvair, then the mid-engine Pontiac Fiero in the '80s and the completely bizarre Chevy SSR in the 2000s. What all of these had in common was that they bucked the trend for American models of their era, for better or worse. The latest episode of Generation Gap tasked the hosts with finding two cult classic vehicles to choose between; they came come up with two of these quirky products from The General.
On the classic side, there's a 1967 Chevy Corvair Monza convertible. Being from later in the production run, it wears slightly more aerodynamic styling than the earlier, boxier examples. Hanging out back is an air-cooled, 2.7-liter flat-six pumping out a robust 95 horsepower. In the other corner is the somewhat more modern 1986 Pontiac Fiero SE with a mid-mounted, 2.5-liter "Iron Duke" four-cylinder, an engine nearly ubiquitous in GM cars of the '80s.
Judging by when they were new, the Corvair was far more successful than the Fiero with over 1.8 million sold. Of course, Ralph Nader's book Unsafe at Any Speed kind of poisoned the well, even if the poor safety reputation wasn't entirely deserved. The Fiero on the other hand only lasted for a few model years before shuffling off, but it eventually got its own performance boost with the V6 version and rather attractive GT models. Check them both out in the video and tell us in Comments which you want in your garage.

Junkyard Gem: 1987 Pontiac Safari Station Wagon

Tue, Aug 9 2016

During the 1960s and 1970s, station wagons based on full-sized Detroit sedans were the default family haulers, and many of those Kingswood Estates and Country Squires and Ambassadors came with unapologetically phony woodgrain-printed exterior paneling and trim. By the late 1980s, however, few were snapping up such wagons, making this '87 Safari that I spotted in a Denver yard an interesting find. Power for this wagon came from a 307-cubic-inch Oldsmobile V8 making 140 horsepower. General Motors used this engine in Buicks, Oldsmobiles, Chevrolets, Pontiacs, and Cadillacs, finally discontinuing production for the 1990 model year. Was the "wood" convincing, even when new? Of course not, but it was a cherished American tradition. Related Video: Featured Gallery 1987 Pontiac Safari station wagon in Colorado junkyard View 18 Photos Auto News Pontiac station wagon

700 horsepower Porsche GT2 RS is the wildest 911 ever

Fri, Jun 30 2017

The Porsche 911 comes in a variety of flavors, each filling a certain taste for a certain customer. Sitting atop the range is the new 911 GT2 RS. In previous generations, the GT2 had a bit of a reputation as a widowmaker, a 911 with massive power that could snap and bite with the slightest agitation. Porsche says the new model has been civilized, but with 700 horsepower going to the rear wheels, we're sure it's going to be as mad as ever. Power comes from a highly massaged version of the 3.8-liter flat-six from the 911 Turbo S. The rear-mounted engine makes an outrageous 700 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. Like we previously reported, the new car will use water injection to help keep things cool. The only transmission is Porsche's PDK. While enthusiasts may lament the loss of the manual, the RS models have always been about performance above all else. Simply put, the PDK is the better performance option. All that power translates to a 0-60 mph time of 2.7 seconds and a top speed of 211 mph. The engine makes 80 more horsepower than the previous model. That makes it the most powerful road-going 911 ever built. In fact, the 887 horsepower 918 Spyder is the only road-going Porsche that makes more power. The fact that Porsche trusts all of that power to go to the rear is both thrilling and terrifying at the same time. In order to manage traction, the GT2 RS gets a number of upgrades. Rear-wheel steering has become commonplace in the 911 lineup, so it's no surprise to see it here. Sticky tires with 265/35 ZR 20 section rubber at the front and 325/30 ZR 21 section rubber at the rear keep things planted. That comically large rear wing adds downforce, adding to stability. The car gets standard carbon ceramic brakes. While some people prefer traditional rotors for the street, like the PDK, this is all about performance. A number of intakes and outlets complement the rear wing and maximize aerodynamic efficiency. It's a bit of a surprise that with all the focus on downforce, the GT2 RS still manages to top out at 211 mph. The hood, front wings, wheel housing vents, door mirrors, side air intakes, parts of the rear end, and a number of interior components are all made from carbon fiber. The roof has been made of magnesium. If you want to drop any pretense of civility and comfort in the pursuit of speed, Porsche is offering a Weissach package that shaves off another 40 pounds from the already impressive wet weight of 3,241.
