1965 Pontiac GTO

#'s matching 389 335 hp 4 Barrel Car

Muncie 4 Speed (Partial Vin matches)

3.55 Posi (ZH Code)

Protecto Plate, Buyers Order.

A very nice example of a documented 57000 mile 65 GTO. The car has had one older albeit still nice repaint in the original code WW Blue Mist Slate hue. The car retains all it's original body panels in very nice shape. The chrome and brightwork is all original to the car and is about as nice it can be for a 50 year old car. The floors and trunk appear to be very solid. This car is completely unmolested albeit lightly detailed. The interior is all original including the carpet and is in fantastic shape. I did replace the dashpad as it had a crack in it. The car retains it's original "Sport Wood" steering wheel, rally pack cluster with all gauges working as they were designed. (horn does not work)Original carpets and floor mats in good shape. Interior is a 9.5....Exterior shows very well for a older repaint.

Car runs and drives great!

Options include:

AM/FM radio

Sport Deluxe wheel

Rally cluster

Bucket Seats

Console

Rear Defrost

Remote Mirror

2 Speed Wipers

Safety Track Rear Differential 3.55

Power Antenna

This is a super nice turn key original unmolested car.

Where are you going to find another one of these in this color combination. These Options? All #'s matching investment grade car with full documentation?

I am a avid collector and liquidating some of my collection. I purchased this vehicle as part of a estate. The previous owner owned this vehicle for 30+ years.

I know what I have here and I am NOT giving the car away. This is not a fire sale. I will however give someone a fair deal on this truly spectacular time machine.

STUDY: Ford owns brand loyalty in 2009; Scorned Saturn, Pontiac buyers will look outside of GM

Fri, 16 Oct 2009

Ford buyers appear to love their cars more than customers of any other automotive brand, returning back to the American automaker when it comes time to purchase their next vehicle. According to a study by Experian Automotive, six of the top 10 vehicles for customer brand loyalty wear badges from the Blue Oval. That includes the Ford Fusion (62.4 percent), Ford Edge (57.9 percent), Ford Five Hundred/Taurus (56 percent), Ford Freestyle (51.9 percent), Ford Escape (49.4 percent) and the Ford Focus (47.57 percent).
Other vehicles making up the top 10 include the Toyota Prius (52 percent), Chevy Impala (51.7 percent), Toyota Camry (47.8 percent) and Toyota Corolla (47.56 percent). This brings up an interesting question: With the closing of automotive brands like Saturn and Pontiac, where are those buyers to turn for their next automotive purchase?
Apparently, not back to General Motors. According to Experian, Pontiac owners are most likely to look to the Ford lineup for their next car or truck and Saturn shoppers will switch to Toyota or Honda - not particularly surprising given that Saturn was meant to compete with import brands. Experian predicts that GM's overall market share will fall from 20 percent to about 17.5 percent, with most of the slack being picked up by Ford, Honda and Toyota.

Junkyard Gem: 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix Daytona 500 Edition

Tue, Aug 29 2017

The W Platform proved to be extremely long-lived and versatile for General Motors, remaining in production from 1988 all the way through 2016. You had your Impalas and your Regals and your Cutlass Supremes, and of course the 1988-2008 Pontiac Grand Prix was a W-body. For the 2000 model year, Pontiac made the racy-looking Daytona 500 Edition Grand Prix, an example of which I just found in a Northern California self-service wrecking yard. 2,000 of these cars were made, presumably because it was the year 2000, and each one sports plenty of cool-looking Daytona 500 graphics. Perhaps some Regal owner will buy these seats and swap them. This is the second junked Daytona 500 Grand Prix I have seen recently, after this one in Colorado. The Daytona 500 was about the same as the GTP version, with Eaton-supercharged 3800 engine making a respectable 240 horsepower. Disappointingly, this car has an automatic transmission. It never saw 150,000 miles, unlike most 21st-century W-bodies I see in wrecking yards. Featured Gallery Junked 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix Daytona 500 Edition View 21 Photos Auto News Pontiac Sedan

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.
